I suddenly lost my metronome click and my input signal in Cubase, with which I use a Babyface Pro. After hours of watching unhelpful videos, going back and forth with Microsoft Copilot, and calling audio engineers and recording studios, I finally found Carter at the Denton Store. I took in my laptop, my microphones, and my Babyface, and Carter spent an hour with me diagnosing and fixing my problem. Although my equipment then worked correctly in the shop, when I got home, the same problem reoccurred. I took my equipment back in, and Carter gave me even more time. He was a lifesaver, not to mention friendly, generous, and determined to help throughout the whole process. I don't know how many decades it has been since I have seen customer service like his, certainly not in this century. He's the best. read more

I was on a business trip driving from OKC to Dallas, stopped for lunch and they were close so I went in. Well kept store ( I stop in a lot of GC's so I am a good judge) they were polite attentive etc. I ended up buying a used guitar, a nice high end Ibanez, and they shipped it home to my local GC. When I picked it up I saw that it had been packed with extreme care that went above and beyond what I might have expected, even going to far as to wrap the headstock in the case carefully. That kind of service and attention to detail can be rare and is noteworthy when you find it. Great shop I recommend them highly. read more

I would only give five stars to the lesson instructors because they are professional and passionate for what they do. However; I am giving one star as far as the other floor staff because it is a constant cursing and saying bad things about others that come into the store. At one point, I overheard one of them calling a customer stupid and naive to another co worker of his. This is for the fairly new guitar center in Denton, TX. I was sure this would be a great store but it's truly not. I understand that people want to make their job fun but cursing and calling people names and using all types of vulgarity is very unprofessional. I have my kids come to their lessons and curse words is pretty much all you hear. read more

I'll give 3 stars just for all the stuff they have. However, even the high-end guitars are not set up to play. The action is way too high unless you've got a vice-like grip. A little work on them and I'd be walking out with a new guitar every so often. I guess they should just leave them as-is to keep me out of debt. read more

The masculine energy was oppressive, dank, and heavy in the air; moist with the breath of the employees heavy breathing and mansplainations. It was sterile feeling and yet, still so grimy, so grubby. The employee helping me pick out my guitar by riffing in front of me... riffing with no end... riffing... Gloveless fingers rubbing their oils on the Shaft of the Guitar.. he hands me back the guitar.. I put it down.. he picks up the guitar. He riffs. I was told to put the guitar down before I put it away so it could be sanitized and put away. Yes. I understand. But the riffing, the riffing on my new guitar. read more

I came here when I lived in Corinth. Financed a couple items, and placed an order I would pick up from Lewisville because the Denton store didn't have it stocked. Order didn't come in, because it was never finalized, all because the sales associate rang up a $500 item twice, which made the whole experience a mess. Luckily, Preston, the GM of the Lewisville store spent hours on the phone with GC corporate and Synchrony Bank to resolve the issue caused by a indifferent sales associate at your location. I wish I remembered his name, because had he done his job, I wouldn't be writing this review. Thumbs down Denton Guitar Center. I've only had one experience with this store so far. It's in a great location. It's clean, uncluttered and a fairly open environment. Some GC stores can get a bit "crowded" at the front but this one was welcoming and inviting. I dropped in to pick up an order that was made online. It was mostly positive and the small issue that came up was resolved satisfactorily. I do wish they had better selection of items but maybe that will come with time and a loyal shopping base. I bought a used amp from this store with cash, when i got home realized the wood holding the speaker was broken inside, and it rattled and made a bunch of noise at higher volumes. Wasn't able to play it loud in store. I returned it a few days later and they didn't have the cash to refund and couldn't Write a check, So I got store credit and ended up with another "new" amp that I didn't want, it was the floor model and didn't include all the things that should've come with It had i bought it new. But sure enough paid fill price for it. but had no choice since my money was in limbo. staff is always arrogant and unwilling to help. read more

My first guitar purchase experience was at this store. It was terrible. I actually started to walk out, but allowed another salesman to help me and ended up buying a guitar, amp, cord, and tuner. After paying, found out the trim bar (which I was told was in the back) could not be found. So, now I'm told it has been ordered. We will see..... I will never shop at this store again. I brought in an Taylor 110-E acoustic guitar for a set up at the Denton, TX store and was sold the "platinum" set up option because the guitar needed some work done. After I was told I'd be contacted when the guitar is ready and that it shouldn't take more than a couple of days 2 weeks went by with no notification or call to let me know it's ready. Drove to the shop and picked the guitar up. I didn't take the guitar out to check the set up because I was in a rush and trusted that Guitar Center will deliver high quality work. Unfortunately I was disappointed when I got home because as far as I can see they charged me $108 for a string change. NOTHING else has been done to the guitar. The action is so high I can almost fit my pinky in between the strings and the fretboard at the 12th fret. There was rattle (pickup connection or something loose) in the body of the guitar and the guy said he had to take it apart to fix it hence the "platinum" set up, but that wasn't fixed. I'm disappointed in the service I received and would definitely not recommend the repair shop at this store. read more

The staff at Guitar Center did me a solid. I had purchased a Fender Telecaster on the website at regular price. A couple days later I went in the store to purchase a gig bag for the guitar when I discovered that the Telecaster was on sale for Memorial Day at $100 less. I asked the manager if I could get the $100 off pricing even though I had already purchased it, and they gave me the refund. It may be a small Guitar Center, but they're HUGE when it comes to customers' satisfaction. Thanks to all the staff. read more

Drive to the Lewisville location. The difference in customer care/service is night and day. Living in Denton, i was very excited to see this location go up, but was quickly let down by the staff. I ordered a specialty tuner from Guitar Center expedited so I could get the one causing a buzz off my pedal board. I went for the Peterson StroboTuner VSS-C with the DI out for some flexibility and sending out pre-effects for recording purpose. But instead of getting a brand new one, I got one heavily USED which I'm assuming was a floor model, with a scuffed screen and the letters worn all around. read more

Disappointing at best. The store is very small and filled with low end merchandise. Things not on the shelf/floor - 16 channel mixer, power amps, music man bass, keyboard amp, a 4x10 bass cabinet or 4x10 amp of any type, roland anything, moog anything, a functional drum kit, floor monitors with the exception of store brand. Too many other missing items to list. If you have a 10 year old who wants to learn how to play then this is your store. Plenty of $89 to $199 guitars and cheap gear. This review is based off of a used guitar I purchased online from the store. It was a Gibson SG 2016 model. When I emailed the store with a few questions about it the store manager got back to me in no longer than 30 minutes. He told me the guitar was in beautiful condition and it would come set up perfectly. He was 100% correct about both of those.The only flaw in the condition was a few hairline scratches on the pick guard, but that's what pickguards are for so I'm not going to take away from the guitar for that. And the setup was excellent, low action with no buzz and the strings were nice and slinky, not too slinky but slinky enough for easy hammer-ons and string bends. Guitar came packed nice and tight in a gig bag, and took 2 days to get to me. (From Texas to Utah) Overall I'm very impressed with the only used guitar I've ever purchased, I'd highly recommend buying from here. read more

Having to drive to the lewisville guitar center was some what of a commute for me. After hearing that there was a store opening up in denton I was extremely excited to do business with them. The difference between the lewisville store and the denton store is truly night and day Being a manager myself and experiencing what I encountered from this store truly is upsetting. The denton store has nothing but con artist that give you the run around, and take what they can from you and leave you empty handed! Not only did I lose my keyboard that I traded in, but I lost the one I purchased from them as well! Never have I had someone openly steal from me and not take ownership for there wrong doing. Instead they passed the buck around and shift the blame on everyone else but themselves.For 3 days I was given the run around by this store and didn't even receive what I had originally traded in for which resulted in a lose lose for me. I am truly hurt by the experience that I had with this store and surely hope that this isn't what guitar center is about! We purchased a bundle package OB Focusrite Scarlett that is made in the UK from the Denton location only to find that the head phones in the package did not work. When we brought the entire package back to replace only the headphones we were told we could not get a refund because they had to make sure the equipment was not registered to us. OK, no problem we send an email to Focusrite explain what happened so they would remove the registered equipment from my son's computer....only to have guitar center manager tell us that we would have to wait as long as it took for the company in UK to respond...REALLY. They have been sent the email from Focusrite showing that it has been removed from my sons account. I called my bank in the store telling them what was happening and then suddenly they tell me they would refund me....???? I still have not seen the money back on my credit card! We drove all the way over to the Guitar Center in Lewisville and they told us that this was crazy and unacceptable! We ended up purchasing much better equipment from an educated professional so my son's birthday will end up great after all! Be very careful if you purchase from the Denton location! read more
