Im a 100 % disabled veteran from the Vietnam Era and I found out what people say "thank you for your service" Eli means it in a real sense of the words.. Mr. Barlow does not play games, he means what he say's and his word is like having a gold bar in your hand. He is patient and listens to his customer. I have used three brokers in the past and none has been greater than Mr. Barlow, not even close. So listen, to what I say, use no one else. Thank You Eli if I could give you 100 stars I would gladly.

Complaint Regarding Village Capital & Investment's Handling of Late Payment During 44 DAY RECORD…read moreBREAKING Government Shutdown! I would give a NEGATIVE Rating if possible. Village demonstrated a complete lack of empathy and offered no reasonable accommodations to government employees directly impacted by the record-breaking 44-day government shutdown in OCT-NOV25. Despite prior assurances that those affected would not be penalized, I was subjected to a late fee and the threat of a negative credit bureau report, adding insult to injury during an already difficult time. Initial Contact (Early OCT25): Upon learning of the potential government shutdown, I contacted Village Capital to inquire about options for managing my mortgage payments should the shutdown impact my income. I was assured that the company understood the situation and would work with me to avoid penalties. I was told that I did not need to submit documentation. I follow-up Mid-OCT25 and was then instructed to call back after being late (16NOV25). I called 17NOV25 (as Village is closed during weekends) after the government had reopened. Despite informing them that I was a government employee directly impacted by the shutdown, that my pay was impacted as well, and I did not know when I would receive backpay. I was told that there were no options available, and that I would be assessed a late fee. Furthermore, I was informed that if payment was not received by November 30, 2025, the late payment would be reported to credit bureaus, despite previously following their instructions and letting them know that I would not be able to make the payment right away. Village's policy is Unacceptable Policy and they Lack of Consideration, with the policy of only waiving 1 late fee for the entire life of the loan is already extremely restrictive. Their one-time late fee waiver is unconscionable during a national crisis. To apply this policy without any consideration for the extraordinary circumstances of the government shutdown is unconscionable. Village's Breach of Trust, failed to honor its initial assurances that government employees affected would not be penalized. They also Lack of Empathy and Accommodation, as demonstrated by the callous disregard for the financial hardship and stress caused by the 44 Day Record Breaking government shutdown. Assessing a late fee and threatening a negative credit bureau report under these circumstances is unfair and unethical. This situation is a terrible show by Village as the predatory soulless company they are. They breached trust and showed a total lack of empathy by penalizing any of their customers that were affected. When the only real issue was that we as customers followed their instructions. As a Veteran and Government Employee, I admonish them, and I am totally appalled by their predatory practices.
