Lucy, always in our hearts. Rest in peace

We are extremely thankful Dr. Moraes was available for us when our beloved Lucy needed help exiting the physical world. She was kind, gentle, and her soft voice was very comforting and compassionate, all while explaining the process. Our Lucy passed peacefully on 1/6/26. We also received a very thoughtful condolence card which shows her caring heart. As pet parents, no one ever wants to have to make the difficult decision to say goodbye via euthanasia. If we find ourselves in that situation in the future with our other pets we will definitely call Guiding Light & Dr. Moraes.

I can't say enough about Dr. Moraes! They worked us in on a Saturday night when Pepper started failing rapidly. Though I knew it was coming, you're never completely prepared. Dr. Moraes was compassionate, professional and just a great human. Though the whole experience is emotionally devastating, this Company made the experience less painful and we couldn't have asked for more. If I could give 10 stars I would....

    Our Sweet Riley.
    Michelle H.

We called today as our little precious sweet Riley had struggled all night to breathe. The medications for her heart had stopped working and she was in pain and we knew it was time to let her go. The Dr. made time for us within 2 hours to be at our home so she didn't have to endure more. We were emotional wrecks having to make this call so quickly, however the Dr. was so kind and so sweet with Riley being so caring with her and with us. We picked her favorite spot to sit and watch everyone walking by and she was able to be loved on and put in a calm state before we let her go! We have never used a home service like this in the past, however we will only ever use them again. Specifically Guiding Light. Riley was able to have the peaceful, and dignified passing she deserved for all the love she gave to us.

My sweet boy Rza. May he rest in peace

My husband and I decided to put our sweet boy dog down due the progression of his aggressive lymphoma. It was beyond difficult to make this decision, and Guiding Light supported us throughout the process. First off, Dee was empathic, informative, and efficient. This was our first time experiencing this and Dr. Moraes answered all of our questions in such a caring way. She took her time to get Rza as comfortable as possible. She explained every single step and explained the reasoning behind it as well. She gave us time to say goodbye to our sweet boy and we never felt rushed. Thank you Dr. Moraes for creating a peaceful experience for our sweet Rza and both my husband and I.

From the moment Dr. Dior entered our home, an aura of calm peace was felt! She was kind, calm and so gentle with our precious Bailey Jo as she helped her cross the Rainbow Bridge. Since then Dr. has continued to be a source of strength as I deal with my grief. I am so grateful, and certainly highly recommended her. Thank you, Dr....for touching our lives in such a profound way. Many blessings ! jay navarro

This is our Max. We miss him so much.

We were desperate for an alternative to a waiting room full of animals waiting for care. Dr. Moraes was able to make our family a spot and we could not appreciate her more. She treated our family as her own and was sweet and tender with our Maximus in his final minutes with us. I could not recommend this business more unless they made 6 stars! Thank you for everything!

To the best love of our lives for the last 10 years

I'm new to the area and have been very stressed dealing with my dog's declining condition. The staff member who helped me (I believe her name was Jessi or Jessica) was incredibly kind and compassionate. Even though they were close to closing, she took the time to listen to my concerns and understand the situation. Unfortunately there wasn't a veterinarian available to see my dog, but she still went above and beyond to help. She suggested several nearby clinics and even helped call them to check for appointment availability. Because of her help, I was able to secure an appointment without having to rush to an expensive emergency clinic. I truly appreciated her kindness and willingness to help during such a difficult time. Even though I've never brought my dog here before, this experience alone made a very positive impression on me. If I adopt another dog in the future, I would definitely consider bringing them to New Haven Animal Hospital.

We had recently moved to Eastvale and brought Lucy here once before and loved the experience. Because we had recent blood work done at her previous clinic, I asked if the assessment fee could be waived. They were kind enough to do so without hesitation. When we arrived at 2pm, Lucy went into cardiac arrest and was passing just as we got through the door. Even though they still worked on her, and administered the medication to ensure she was at peace, they waived the fee for the procedure and only charged for the communal cremation. We no longer have a pet, but I needed to write this for anyone thinking about coming here: Do it. They might be new, but they treat you like family. We spent nearly $10,000 trying to save Lucy from cancer, so we were deeply grateful that they were sympathetic to our situation and didn't try to nickel and dime us. Finally, a huge thank you to Dr. Jeng and the staff for your bedside manner, emotional comfort, and empathy. We were especially touched by the small vial containing a lock of Lucy's hair, complete with a tag showing her name and the date. Since we couldn't afford the private cremation to get her ashes back, we expected to go home empty-handed. That memento brought tears to our eyes; being able to walk away with a piece of her was the perfect gift to remember her life.

They are kind over the phone and in person. The Vet/doctor seemed very kind, very patient, and basically providing you the time and info you deserve since you're paying for their time and knowledge. I don't get a sense of rush or belittling. He was basically wanting me to ask him questions and wanting to help me with anything I had concerns about. I felt I didn't have to wait for him very long while in the exam room. He was patiently waiting for me and the assistant to finish signing documents. Only small set back for me was that my appointment was at 9:30 and my dog wasn't seen until 9:50. So I sat and waited in the lobby. Fortunately I was in no rush. I'm just always nervous at first time appointments and unsure how it would go for my fur baby. I was informed that walk in appointment/exams are more expensive than when you make an appointment. First time appointments they charge for an exam fee in addition to the vaccines I needed. It kind of deterred me, considering another place I found didn't charge for exam fees but what I appreciated was that they had an available appointment the next day. Their vaccine fees seem to out compete the other location. I figure a first time exam should be useful anyway, and it was. :) I have nothing else to compare to. I hope I made the right choice coming here. It felt like it though. The Vet seemed very honest and I appreciate that.

He hadn't eaten or drank since probably Sunday. He vomited a few times Monday, so I made an appointment for Tuesday morning. I hadn't heard anything by 2:30p.m., so I called for an update. I was on hold for 20 minutes. Then they tell me a bunch of blood tests they want to run and they want to give him some fluids because he's dehydrated. I approve everything. They tell me he's stressed out and may need to sedate him to do the blood tests, I approve that as well. They call me back at 4pm and tell me that they can't do the tests because "he didn't want it and it's too late in the day to sedate him". So they want me to schedule another appointment. I ask if he'll be ok waiting since he hasn't eaten or drank anything for so long. They tell me they'll ask the doctor about a possible appetite stimulant to go home with and let me know when I pick him up. An appetite stimulant when they haven't figured out why he's throwing up??? Then she asks "are you going to make the appointment soon?". I say yes and then head over to pick him up. But I've already decided on my way there that I'm just going to take him to the emergency vet as soon as I pick him up. They charged me $91 for an exam, when all they did was weigh him and stress him about by making him sit in a cage for hours dehydrated and probably throwing up there too. When they brought out my cat, they didn't even ask about bringing him back or anything. Just said "here you go". If you love your pet, please do not bring them here, EVER!

When I picked up my pets, my 93 pound Cane Corso had a bursted blood vessel in his right eye and his left eye was extremely red. The tech that tended to my dog claimed he was banging his head on the cage. IF that was true why didn't they take him out of the cage and give him something to calm him down? Why didn't they call me and tell me to pick him up? I do not believe my pet was banging his head on the cage. That's not his behavior. He likes to jump and I believe they tackled him and hurt him in the process. The name of the Banfield tech is Amy and she called me two times to tell me what the doctor was recommending and to go over pricing. Not once did she mention the incident with my dog's eyes, but I blame doctor Christian, which was the physician who treated my pets. Also, they offered no treatment for my pet's eyes. I'm going to cancel my pet's Banfield Wellness plan because they'll never treat any of my pets again. Then I'm going to file a complaint with the Board of Veterinarian, and I'm going to dispute the charges. They will not hurt my pet and get paid. Doctor Christian and the other staff lacks compassion for animals and they're work is subpar at best. You are lower than frog feces at the bottom of the Michigan lake to hurt an animal.

Without going into detail with changes in Vets and changes in the Vital Care Rewards, we have just hit an unbelievable lapse in care. Every 6 months we go through the ritual of getting renewal prescriptions for simperica trio. We have been routed to the vaccination clinic twice which has been okay but this time they could not give us the prescription making it necessary to bring the dogs back to the clinic. After being scolded for doing what we were told, they still failed to get the prescriptions correct. After 5 visits and numerous phone calls, the clinic staff consistently entered our little dog's weight incorrectly and would not make the appropriate changes. This resulted in the wrong dosage being sent to us in spite of repeated calls from Chewy to the Vetco requesting them to make the needed change in the prescription. With the last in-person visit with our little dog to verify her weight as being substantially below the recommended weight by the manufacture, they assured us they would order the smaller dose and all we needed to do was have Chewy send in the request. Chewy did but the clinic gave them the wrong dose again! We are now working with the pharmacist with Chewy to reduce the dosage that the Vet ordered. The higher dose could create a significant health hazards for our little dog which could include, neuro-muscular disturbances and even death. If my dog had been a human being I would be filing a medical malpractice complaint for jeopardizing the life of my dog.
