Ok, just hastily checked in after a long day on the road. Didn't vet my options because I have my two black labs with me and they're looking at me like, well you know.
I walk into the office and there's another customer talking with the 'manager'. He's upset because he put the money in the on site guest washing machine and found it doesn't work. He explains that his clothes are in the machine with soap on them and asks the 'manager' what he was supposed to do. Barely looking up, she informs him that what she will do is refund his
quarters and put a sign on the machine. Problem solved! For her at least. Just saw the poor angry man hauling his load of soapy clothes in a garbage bag outta there. Didn't look like much of a satisfied customer. Minus two stars for the lack of even the slightest concern for this patron.
I get up to the desk after she takes care of him, and inquire about rates. I inform her my two labs are with me and ask about pet charges. She says its 10/night/pet. That brings my total for the night to just under 100. I jokingly say I think that's a little much as I watch a shady-looking character walking through the parking lot, and ask for a two-for-one on the dogs. Her glazed over eyes harden as if to say, " why the hell would I do that?". I then ask if I could bring the dogs to the breakfast buffet in the morning, since they're paying customers. She looked confused and states that she doesn't work mornings. I guess that made the question irrelevant. Minus another star for having such an obtuse 'manager'.
I know, some will say that I'm just partial to my dogs. That they could potential cause damage, and that is a reasonable charge for dogs. It frustrates me because I know, in this case, I'm going to be so much harder on the room than my dogs. I think the mini fridge and TV will both fit in the bath tub. But I'm not positive. I'll update later.
The room is actually pretty nice, with a loveseat, little microwave, and cable. There's a neat little safe with an electronic password pad that I'm still trying to figure out a way with which to make a statement. Oh one disappointing thing when you check into a room you feel you've overpaid for, is to see toilet paper in the toilet before anyone's used it. That makes me think the toilet is not sanitized. Ugh..... Oh wait, I think I just figured out what to use the safe for!
P.S. if you do choose this place, room 208 is not going to be your best choice read more
