Ignore those reviews that harbor fear! I walked for an hour before breakfast and despite the outskirts-of-town nature of the area felt safe (it's a CITY; keep your wits about you and be CORDIAL to strangers). Although it's ok we moved on for our 2nd night I was a tad disappointed we couldn't extend our stay thru Saturday night as they were fully booked. We spent $100 more last night and the only (unused by us) "plus" seems to be that they have an indoor pool. Would stay at the Hotel Y again without ANY qualms.

It was quiet, SAFE, and each room controls its own temps. The bed was perfect with FIVE pillows! The bedding was clean, and just enough. The breakfast area was clean. The coffee is super loaded with creamers sugars cups two different kinds of coffee and hot water. In the breakfast seriously had two different machines one making pancakes and one making waffles. Both were good. Heh. They also had cereal, eggs, and sausage that I was more concerned about the waffles. All in all it was worth the extra money to get a two dollar hotel, compared to a one dollar hotel. Definitely worth a try.

I am severely asthmatic and allergic to smoke so we always intentionally pick places that don't allow smoking on premises at all. We called the hotel directly and the employee was incredibly rude and immediately just transferred us to her supervisors voicemail. We left a message and then also called Hilton honors directly as we have status with them. They claimed that the hotel was refusing to remove the charge and there was nothing we could despite having status with them and staying at Hiltons all over, even the Hilton next door to this location on 3 previous trips. So be warned that if you stay here they have devices in the room that you're not notified of monitoring for smoke and these clearly don't work properly as neither of us smoke anyways. Also made us wonder and worry about other undisclosed devices in our room that may have been monitoring us.

I satay all over the NW in more cities/towns then I can count... and 90% of them have that really crappy powdered coffee machines. In the morning we all need coffee... why oh why does it have to be powdered coffee?! If you tried to give the coffee away at a homeless camp or just on the street to passers by... 99.9% of the people would hate it. Please make real coffee in the future... please... Overall this place is the bee's knees. Oh yeah (!) great business center: updated computers, xerox and printer, and turbo fast connection. If you need a hot tub and pool to relax at the end of the day... it's indoor and always open. I love this hotel... the coffee just sucks

Now the bad: - Hotel was undergoing renovations, which was not mentioned on the Hilton website, as usual protocol with chains. Dust and Dirt, can't access lobby from elevator, etc. - Room is TINY. This is a Tru by Hilton size room. - Location noise. While not NY, it's still got pretty darn loud from street traffic (engine revving, etc). Then throw in the train that comes around night and day. - Parking is $15/day. Really, on top of the $200+ a night stay in Yakama? Then the underground garage is tight AF, so good luck navigating your truck/SUV around the pylons. - Breakfast $12 - Almost laughable. It's a tiny table tucked away with some random pastries. I am in the area quite a bit and usually stay at the other Hilton or Marriott properties, but they were sold out the week I was there. If faced with the same option again, will just go to Holliday Inn.

The desk clerk really seemed to care about providing quality service, the room was great, the building (inside and outside) was clean and free of debris and the proximity to other businesses ie restaurants, grocery stores, etc was very convenient. Also, at night the parking lot was extremely well lit. I did feel like the price was a bit high for this level of hotel in this area but Previously I paid a lot less and was extremely disappointed. I'd rather slightly overpay and have a pleasant experience than the reverse. Side note: I booked on Expedia but then I looked on the Comfort Suite site and the prices were a little lower on Comfort Suites actual site. They also have a breakfast service that starts at 7:00am. I'd prefer it to be offered a tad earlier like 6:00 or 6:30. Usually, by 7:00 I'm up and on the road but that's just me. Maybe it was at 7:00 because it was the weekend. In summation, this Comfort Suites is going to be my go-to when in Yakima. For me, it's really close to one of the event sites I use and a half-hour from the other. The service and good night's sleep is well worth the extra drive time.

Oh I will say we are at a different elevation.
