Checking tire for leaks
Roxanne S.

While driving we heard what seemed to be something stuck in my tire. Pulled over and found a long piece of metal lodged in it. We were driving from Lathrop back to Modesto and knew it wouldn't be wise to drive back without fixing it. We Yelped and found Guerrero's Tires and called 30 minutes before they closed. Brought the car in within 10 minutes and walked out 10 minutes before they closed. They were quick and efficient. If you're in the Lathrop area and need a quick patch I recommend going to Guerrero's Tires.

First I want to point out that I tried to work out the situation with the owner and their son before posting. The son held no responsibility on the situation. I texted them with pictures of the tire that was patched on the corner. I couldn't believe that I was sold an used 'patched' tire. I sent them the pictures and called them when this incident happened. About a week ago, I went to get one of my tires replaced due to a flat. He mentioned to me that all my tires were wearing out and recommended to get them all replaced. They didn't have any new tires in inventory, so I was sold 4 used tires and he said with his professional experience that the tires will be good for 3-6 months. I told him I was driving to Las Vegas and wanted peace of mind. He assured me, I will be fine. I planned on getting all my tires replaced after the trip. After a few hours on the highway 5, I saw the tire indication light went on. I pulled over to the side of the freeway and noticed that my right rear tire was flat. Luckily, I had a portable tire pump to pump the tire. I thought it may just be low on air. About 10 mins into driving, the light went on again. The same tire was flat. I pumped the tire again and luckily, I was close by an exit with some gas stations and local businesses. I found an auto repair place that sold tires and they quoted me $250 to get this fix. Since I am stranded in the middle of nowhere, I had to just accept the cost so my family can move on with our trip. The person who helped me told me he didn't see any nails that would cause the flat. Once he took the tire out, he noticed that the use tire had a patch on the corner of the wall. Patching tires on the corner is a big NO NO. I was in disbelief when he showed me. I called immediately to Guerrero tires about the incident and send pictures right away. Till this day, I still do not have any response from the owner. I called today and spoke to the same person who sold the tires to me. He said that I bought use tires and that there's no guarantee on the tires. I told him that he said that the tires would be good for at least 3-6 months. I told him it was flat in less than a week. He said he will not refund me nor pay for the $250 expense that I had to incur due to their use tire. I will report them to the BBB and make sure that people know that these people are thieves. Until they make things right, this post will remain up. I hope they can live with themselves.

At first I had the front wheels done first to see if that would take care of it. I paid and hopped on to the freeway to test them but seemed to be still the same so I went back and had the rear wheels done as well. That seemed to have improved a little bit but wasn't completely fixed but tolerable. I figured it could be something else causing the issue so I saved it to have it diagnosed further later. I paid $60 for the work done total ($30 on each pair) After driving for a few weeks the shaking on the steering wheel seemed to have become worse. So I took it to Firestone this time to get the balancing redone as well as alignment. And guess what? Yup, the issue is now gone when driving on the freeway. I've been to this shop quite a few times before and just feel that their work is just average. I came only because it's close to my home. But this will definitely be my last time as I paid for something was supposed to fix the problem but obviously didn't, not to mention money wasted. I somehow wonder if they did the work correctly, or even did the work at all even though I did see them took out the wheel from my car. SMH -_-

Great tire and auto repair shop in Manteca!…read more My tire got a big screw in it and had a slow leak (thanks to the TPMS on my car to alert me) so I needed to get it patched up ASAP. I called around and Al the owner at Prince Tires said he could do it in 15 minutes and for $25 (around noon on a Tuesday). This was quicker and cheaper than most of the other places I called plus this was closer to me near Costco Manteca. Al did a great job patching my tire and even let me watch and learn all about the process. In 15 minutes, my tire was patched and all is good again. Thanks Al! I like to buy my tires from Amazon (price and selection is better than any tire store) and Al said he is happy to install Amazon bought tires for $30/tire which is very reasonable. He said just call him in advance so he can be ready to have the tires sent directly to the store for your installation. If you are at Great Wolf Lodge Manteca or Big League Dreams Manteca and you have a flat tire that needs a patch, Prince Tires is likely the closest and best place to do it. Costco does patch tires, but the wait can be hours or more since they are always so busy. I literally was in and out of Prince Tires in 15 minutes to fix my flat. This place is not the easiest to find since it's in a part of Yosemite Ave. that has a lot of random houses and businesses and empty lots and fields. I've driven by this place thousands of times but never noticed this place (all I saw was houses). But just plug in the address in Google Maps and look for the sign out front on Yosemite Ave.

I definitely recommend this place for your tire needs used or new or any other car related issues.

I had such a great experience with Ryan and Lucas at Les Schwab in Manteca this weekend, and I…read morereally wanted to take a moment to recognize them. My tires were completely trashed and I was also having alignment issues. They were able to get me in the same day, and within just a few hours my car was ready to go. What really stood out to me was how honest and thorough they were throughout the entire process. I had mentioned that I had recently gotten an oil change and was told my brakes were getting close to needing replacement and that I shouldn't put it off because of the safety risk. Ryan and Lucas said they would take a look at them for me. After checking my brakes, they told me that I actually had a long way to go before they needed to be replaced and not to worry about them. That honestly meant a lot to me. They could have easily told me I needed brakes and charged me for work that I didn't need, but instead they were completely honest with me. When they inspected my tires, they also could have easily told me I needed all four replaced, but instead they explained that I only needed two new tires because the rear ones were still in good shape. They also gave me two different options and took the time to explain the pros and differences between each one so I could make an informed decision. I never felt pressured or rushed. They also let me know that Les Schwab does oil changes, which I honestly didn't realize, so I'll definitely be coming back for that next time. Ryan and Lucas went above and beyond, and I really appreciate the way they treated me and took care of my car. Great customer service, honest recommendations, and people who genuinely seem to care about their customers. Thank you both and I hope I gave you and your team a great laugh!

D & S have skillful mechanics and charge reasonable prices. I brought my Subaru in with a leak near the oil pan, and I thought the worst, Tom would find other damages and the cost would be $300-$400, it was way less, ~$158. The leak was only damage he found. He kept the car an extra day to test that the repair fixed the leak, putting extra time in and not charging. Leak fixed. Upon picking up my car I relieved the cost was reasonable, and I admitted to being nervous about a large bill because I just lost my job. He felt bad about that, and this is where Tom is a great human being: he didn't charge me! He said, "Since you lost your job, we're square." Unbelievable! I didn't expect sure an awesome gesture! He didn't even charge me and told me to come back when the work was actually needed. That level of honesty is rare. More recently, I had a fuel pump issue, and Tom squeezed me into his busy schedule, prioritized my repair, and gave me a great price without compromising on quality. His work is top-notch and his prices are very fair. With cars, you need someone you can truly trust, and Tom is that person for me. I'm grateful I found him and highly recommend him to anyone looking for an honest mechanic who provides excellent work at a fair price. Tom is the guy!
