I want to give this place 5 stars just because of the range. The people running this place is more deserving of 1 though. I attended this range last year with a friend that was new to shooting. While in the lane the person I was with turned around with one of the firearms still in his hands. BIG NO NO. The firearm was unloaded (no magazine, and slide locked), but understandably the RSO ended our time there. There wasn't a big exchange of words between the RSO and us because he was right. The RSO also said "you won't be banned but I'm just going to end your time today." When we exited the range and walked back to the counter. The person behind the register looked my in my face and said "Why were you being an asshole to my RSO?" So I explained that I wasn't the one that committed the infraction. Also I was equally upset at them. The guy at the register seemed like he was being pretty harsh, because I'd had already dealt with the RSO in a calm matter. I hate to pull the race card, but that guys face looked like he was disgusted to even talk to me. So we walked out of the place vexed. The next time I tried to use the range, I brought a group of 7 with me and I was told I couldn't shoot. I've written a total of 10 emails to guardian explaining this situation and never even got a reply. So last week I called the range about 3 times in 5 days to see why I wasn't getting a reply to me emails. Every time they said that's not our department to handle that. I finally talked to someone that seemed to actually care and I got an email back. It read "Due to inappropriate and unacceptable behavior, The Board has determined that you are no longer permitted on Guardian Training center property. In addition, you are to cease any further contact with Guardian Training Center staff as it will be considered harassment and will result in imitate legal action. If you have any difficulties understanding our legal rights in this matter please feel free to contact a local law enforcement agency and they will explain the law to you. The Board Guardian Training Center "Only criminals need to live in fear" - GTC " P.s. my dad is an officer and I'm generally very respectful. I don't know if race had anything to do with this situation. I'll just say there is not one person of color that works there. So yea.... hopefully they'll be a little nicer to you. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE, I've been to gun ranges before with no issue and loved renting and trying out new firearms (hanguns, shotguns, rifles) so for a late valentines day present i take me and my gf out to her first gun range to shoot for her first time. BIG MISTAKE GOING TO GUARDIAN. Me and my gf decide to rent an FN Scar and a shotgun, they ask if I've ever used these before and i respond I've never used the scar before but ive shot a shotgun in the past. Well once we get on the range i asked a simple question about the pump action release and THAT WAS ONE TO MANY QUESTIONS for the range master who asked me to pack up the shotgun. Sure fine, but then i can hear him talking and making jokes about the issue at hand in back of me. Wow real professional, me and my gf go on to use the fn scar with no issue and leave early because of guardian training centers lack of professionalism and overall poor service. I had a chance to book a training lesson with their friendly staff (not-online) two month in advance. Couple days before the training session supposed to start someone called me and just notified me that due to some error in their booking system my training session was cancelled. Next available window is two month later. Wow. A person who I was talking to did not even try to help me to re-book it to closer date. Like it was my fault their booking system error-ed on me. I decided not to proceed with "Guardians" and went to another company to do training. I was sure this is it. It was not :) One day I went to their range to practice. A person who was looking at my documents checked something in their system (I bet they saw I have cancelled training) and literally told me "please leave premises or next time we will call the police if you show up, if you have any questions please emails us". No explanations. Mention to say I did not get any explanation via email as well. What I can say... I'm not sure what it was .... Retaliation? Juvenile behavior? I was sure they are adults not kids, a lot of good reviews.... I still hope to get at least some explanations from Guardians here. read more

Not what it used to be. I had been going to guardian since shortly after they opened, back then it was fantastic brand new high tech facilities. Brand new range equipment. All of the rentals you could imagine. And a pleasant environment with friendly helpful staff, and RSO's that were vigilant but not overbearing. I truly can't complain about the facilities they are still as nice as they have always been. The problem with guardian training center now is the over abundance of policies and rules that make for an unpleasant experience. As well as the staff that are enforcing these policies and the demeanor they present when doing so. I've seen younger less experienced shooters screamed at and removed for making a mistake. I understand safety is paramount but running inexperienced shooters out of your "Training center" doesn't help them learn. I understand that these policies don't come from thin air. I understand that there is an over abundance of people who go there that have zero clue how to operate a firearm and have zero regard for their own safety or the safety of the people around them (these people typically come from the county to the south of us that starts with a "P"). It truly is a shame that those people have turned happy and friendly staff into angry overbearing. I used to love taking friends and family here. I taught my mother how to shoot here. I took family here that had come over from other countries. They loved it. They loved how friendly everyone was and how safe everything was. But now only US citizens are allowed to shoot here. Now I'd be scared to teach a new person to shoot here for fear we'd be screamed at and removed for making a mistake.You can't even WEAR what you want in this place. God forbid you support another local business and buy a sweatshirt from them. I was actually told not to wear a sweatshirt I had bought from another gun store because "we don't want our customers advertising another business ". The life has slowly been sucked out of guardian. I guess the only negative if I had to think of one is that there's always a guy or two in the range that work there that are just sitting there watching you. Makes you feel uneasy knowing they are watching your every move, you can get a talking to at any moment, but I can see the safety side too. Clean facility but customer service awful. This was my first time firing a gun and I had a retired 45 year police veteran assisting me. After approximately 60 shots fired my last 2 hit the carrier. I was charged a $100 fine. The manager was actually angry at me for possibly damaging his equipment. He said this as if I was trying to hit the carrier. This is the entire point of practice. I stopped after I hit the carrier twice in a row as I knew I was tired from shooting for the first time ever. This is called responsibility on my part. This was absurd but I accepted the fine and walked out. Do not recommend this place at all. read more

Redefining Shooting Ranges. I've been shooting for over 20 years, and in that time i have visited dozens of shooting ranges. It is pretty easy to say; "if you've seen one range, you've seen them all. A typical range is a space that has a tired looking check in area that is filled with firearm accessories and staffed by guys who are more interested in talking than listening. The range will have poorly lit booths with a variety of customers of different skills. Sometimes behaving in an unsafe manner. Well that's were Guardian comes in. You see the folks at Guardian have created a space that is inviting and fun. For veterans of the game it has an enormous selection of firearms for rent so you can "try before you buy". Well lit modern range booths, tons of training available, a shoot house on the upper level and very competent staff who speak to you not at you. Did I mention you can call ahead and reserve a range? For the new shooter the first thing you notice is the bright open space as you walk in. A large selection of accessories set up in wide well organized isles. You are greeted by a friendly staff of men and women who are all going to make you feel like you are a welcome member and not someone intruding in their personal conversations. The range is staffed by range officers who are always happy to answer questions or assist with anything you might need. They are also ever vigilant for the new shooter who might need a little guidance. There is so much more to say about this place, however they open in an hour so I've got to pack the car and get on the road. Hope to see you there! read more

This is the best shooting range I have ever been to. It's well lit , clean , friendly , everyone was wearing masks. Any negative reviews on here are due to individuals inability to follow the rules. I very rarely give poor reviews however I give Guardian a "B" for the caliber of the facility and a "D-" for the staff. Some of the staff were helpful and nice but several others were very rude and arrogant. The poor rating is for several interactions over a period of 3-4 months and not just one visit. I have included below why I gave this rating for anyone reading that wants to know. I had gone to Guardian's facility for the first time in approximately July or August 2020, against the recommendations from several credible colleagues who told me not to go there because of the "arrogance" of the staff that consist mostly of some military veterans and younger males. I am a respected Marine Corps veteran and have dealt with many attitudes in my time, so I most often reserve judgement for myself so I went there to fire several of my weapons. I found the facility to be more than adequate and the staff to be reasonable and even friendly the first several times that I went there. I witnessed a few staff who appeared to "give some attitude" to some other customers there however I overlooked this as I did not know their situations. I am experienced with almost every weapon but since my wife has never fired, I felt comfortable enough to take her there to take a weapons safety beginner class. It went well and was taught by a nice and reasonably competent young man. By this time I had been to Guardian at least 3 or 4 times but my reasonably good experience with them was about to change. On Veterans Day of this year, I took advantage of a generous promotion that Guardian provided that included free range time and donated ammunition to veterans on Veterans Day. I referred several of my veteran friends there and even brought a friend with me that day. We received free ammo and range time free of charge and we enjoyed the time as we shared a lane and each fired several weapons. At the end of our time, we checked out and left to go home. Staff there said nothing to me before we left the range however as I got home I remembered and also got a call from someone at Guardian reminding me that I had a balance that needed to be paid for some additional ammo I purchased aside from the free ammo provided. I promptly called (maybe 20 minutes since I had left Guardian), spoke to a young man there who was helpful, paid the balance on the phone and was told the matter was resolved (or so I was told). On 11/20, I went back to the range and checked in, but was told by staff at the counter that I was not permitted to enter the range because I had been "flagged". I asked what the meant and was provided no explanation. I asked how to find out and they told me I needed to email a manager or some other person. I was very polite the entire time and disappointedly returned to my car. They had not written down the email address I needed so I returned once again inside and asked another staff member for help and to write down the address. Another young staff member became very rude, loud, and disrespectful to me, saying "YOU WERE TOLD THE EMAIL ADDRESS FIVE TIMES WHY ARE YOU BACK, WHAT's YOUR PROBLEM?! At that point I did say (respectfully but firmly) to the young staff member " I'm just asking you to write the email address why am I getting attitude?" At that point the older staff member said "YOU NEED TO LEAVE THE FACILITY NOW OR THE POLICE WILL BE CALLED AND YOU"LL BE REMOVED FOR TRESPASSING!" I told him that he could gladly call the police and that they at the shop all were very rude and unreasonable. I left without incident and when I got to the parking lot to my 6 month old new car, I discovered that my rear tire was flat. I put on a doughnut and drove it to my repair shop where I was told the sidewall was punctured irreparably by an unknown "sharp object" and needed to be replaced. My mechanic asked me what might have happened and I had no answer. However I did also remember that while at Guardian I had seen a staff member that was walking in the parking lot near my car as I was walking back into the shop. My mechanic said that might have been what happened as he had no other explanation or evidence. I have no proof that anyone did anything wrong as I didn't see it (it may be on their video cameras but I doubt that they would supply that to me). I only know that I had to replace a brand new tire that was mysteriously punctured with a "slash" and cost me $200. On 11/20 I had also written an email to the address they gave me to find out why my account was flagged. To this day I still have not gotten any email response or call explaining why I was "flagged" or what that meant. It seems to me that staff there have poor communication skills and possibly little problem solving abilities. Customer service does not seem to be their strong suit. I don't really care at this point as I most likely will not go back to Guardian nor will I recommend them to anyone that I know. read more

I've been a Gold Member at this place for 8 months and I left a 3 star review previously, however now it's a 1 star review. The 3 star review described my situation with the initial fees for membership being reduced. I paid $150 for the initial fee while they changed it to $100 or $50 for first responders. So I kindly asked about it and G.M. Kyle told me they wouldn't pro rate the fees. So a review on Google was posted with 3 stars. From this experience I went into Guardian to shoot and the owner, Chris, who has quite the temper, greeted me instead. I sat down with him and he proceeded to curse at me and point at me with insults for the review. He printed out the review and cursed at me shouting why I did it. I politely told him I could change it if it means that much to you and he continued cursing at my face. Chris even angrily pushed a chair out of the way with his temper! I left with being "BANNED" and cursed out from the owner. A better decision would be to kindly change the initial fee difference and ask if I could reconsider my review. Not here, you get CURSED OUT and YELLED AT! Chris even threatened me he would contact my department and leave me a bad review and give everyone there a free gold membership! Some childish behavior if you ask me... The other 1 star reviews on Google are true! You have been warned by an ex-member! The 2nd Amendment may be honored here but leave your 1st Amendment at home if you come here. read more

My husband and I had a great experience today at Guardian Training Center. The staff was professional, patient and helpful - exactly what you need in order to enjoy an activity this serious. The suggestions they made for our rentals were perfect, and also for my equipment purchase. The watchfulness and helpful corrections in the bay made us feel very comfortable and better focused. Before going to Guardian for a lesson with Katelyn Stahl last Friday, I had not fired a handgun since I got out of the service in 1981. To say I was rusty would be an understatement. Five minutes to register and fill out one time forms and then straight to the range. The facility is expansive, new, well light, friendly and has a huge selection of weapons for sale and rent. Katelyn gave a brief range safety review and then had me shoot a few rounds to assess my skills. It was ugly but she was bright, cheerful and encouraging. She never criticized but gave me alternatives for my patented "aim high, flinch low, jerk the trigger" techniques and explained each step carefully followed by drills that really worked for me. By the end of the hour ~40 rounds had gone down range and the shot groups had tightened up considerably. She was great and I was getting better. Very fun, very safety conscious, very friendly place. Very clean facility and state of the art facility filled with nice and knowledgeable staff. I went there before with some friends and had a great time. All staff were wearing masks, and they had body cameras in case an incident occurred. They have a huge selection of firearms to rent, even though I have not rented any yet and was looking forward to trying out some optics for a glock 19. I went there today and, unbeknownst to me, my friend brought in and used his own ammunition in a rental gun which is against the range rules (every range I've been to.) They had to do what they had to ensure safety and we were asked to leave which is understandable. The staff still treated us with respect and explained to us the appeal process. I have read some negative reviews and this was not the case in my experience, as they were just ensuring safety. The review process was seamless. I don't understand why people get so mad. Treat people with respect and they treat you respect. Anyone looking for a safe and fun experience weather you're a first time shooter or an experienced one will find this place great! Strongly recommend you go and try it out and make your own judgments before just listening to people who were held accountable and upset over it. read more

This is a top notch facility for so many reasons. I called them yesterday explaining a very difficult situation after having my life threatened. This left me with a need to prepare for the worst and I felt I needed to take a refresher course on gun control use and safety measures. Today I had a lesson with an instructor named Jerry who was more than knowledgeable, top notch. From when I walked in the door I was greeted with smiles and it seemed like a very a community like environment. Jerry spent a very long time teaching me with great patience and I learned so much from him. Besides the knowledge I gained, I now feel much less anxious should I need to use my gun. On a side note, I enjoy shooting at the range for pleasure as well. Over all I would highly recommend going there and I intend to go back very soon! This is a new facility. It is nice on the inside, and very modern. The employees at the front desk were nice. I am new to shooting, and I went with my fiancé, his friend, and his friend's girlfriend. The male employee that was in there with us while we were shooting was ONLY coming up close to me and the other girl while we were shooting (he also did this to another girl in another lane). Yet he did not know that we were new to shooting, this was before we even shot yet. There were a few young boys being taught by their fathers, and he didn't go up behind them. I just felt like I was being stereotyped as a girl that didn't know what she was doing. The guy yelled at me and the other girl because we "almost shot the ceiling" even though both my fiancé and his friend said we were fine. I just didn't like this guy's demeanor towards me. I felt like he was treating me "lesser than", or like an idiot. I stopped shooting once he lectured me and the girl about how we were aiming too high. WE'RE NEW TO GUNS!! We're doing the best that we can..... no need to yell at us. read more

great facility - but the staffing quality has dropped dramatically. In the past they make honest mistakes like wanting to charge me for lane time when I have a bronze package - no big deal. But now it seems that their motto is " the customer is never right" Was there yesterday to shoot and asked for the price for .380 amo - was quoted a great price and decided to purchase two boxes. payment is made after the range time. My price was totaled and was higher than I was quoted - I questioned the discrepancy but told to just scan my credit card and not to ask questions. I was asked if i was accusing them of price changing - I said the previous counter person gave me a different price - I paid the bill and was waiting for my friend. After about 15 minutes one of the associates gets into my face holding a copy of my drivers license and starts to brow beat me as to me daring to question the pricing. I am now banned from the facility - told that if I come back, I will be arrested and to tell my friends also that they are not welcome. Tyler left their employ back in February i was told - I wanted to schedule more training with him - havn't seen steve there in months - both were great guys - not sure why the strong arm tactics. read more

We purchased two Groupon packages to shoot at this range recently and before I continue, I was at fault here because I didn't read the fine print where they do NOT offer instructions for first time shooters via Groupon vouchers. That doesn't not excuse the fact that from the moment we entered, we received arrogant attitudes from everyone except Kerry (woman at sign up area), but she did appear overwhelmed. We filled the necessary paperwork and waited to be checked into the queue. After a bit of confusion at the desk, we were asked to walk over to the "check in" area. It must have been the guys first day there because he seemed overwhelmed as well and kind of had a smug attitude for some reason after I asked about gun instruction for my mother. I get it, it was printed that instruction was not included, but I quickly said "don't worry about it" to the guy and was actually agreeing to schedule a separate training visit. My mother, at that point, said she changed her mind and wanted my girlfriend and I to shoot. I felt bad because we initially came because I wanted her to experience the range for herself, but she quickly realized that these guys working behind the counter were arrogant. It actually felt like we were imposing on them that we wanted to shoot! Then, the overwhelmed guy calls over his manager or something to take over for some reason. This joker walks up and talk about arrogance! He said to write down my information for the training visit so that someone could follow up with a call. I'm asking him a few questions and it like we were bothering him. Umm, yea...I said ok and walked out at that point. They stated that they welcomed new shooters and our business....well, you guys went about it the wrong way! How about letting first time visitors feel welcomed instead of disgust when walking out. I contacted Groupon and got my refund, but I wanted to share this to anyone thinking about this place. There are tons of other ranges to go to. I'm not a member but I've been here 4 times and each time I have been helped promptly and treated with respect. The range is clean, airy and comfortable and I would certainly go back. Absolutely awful place, long story short my experience started off great then it went downhill. My advice is STAY AWAY from this place. They make false claims of threats, even though one of their workers literally told me he would kill me first if I tries to kill him, even though i made no mention of killing him? I thought he would want to grab my rifle instead of me just to feel comfortable and this was his response. Had a bad experience today and tried to get my money back and was told the owner "will probably say no". So I went home and left a bad review but COMPLETELY HONEST! What do I get out of going home and lying about the business. He tried to say I'm black mailing him I have screenshots of the conversation I will post. Nice place, but staff is extremely rude. I had to write on yelp because if you write a bad review on their Facebook page I hear the owner will keep commenting rude comments back. Went here on Sunday with my boyfriend for the second time. After checking in my boyfriend began asking about their bullet policy and renting a gun. When we came back over to the counter the man asked my name again and then proceeded to tell me I was banned. I literally thought they were joking as I was only there one or two times before and did not even say a word. They then told me I had to leave and could email for a explanation. My boyfriend was very confused being a new member as to why his girlfriend who had only been to the range once had been ban. The guy then proceeded to follow us out as we left and call the cops. This was pathetic coming from military men at a gun range on a couple asking why I was being banned. The cop called our phone and said just please don't go back to this range they are known for calling the station and problems. No worries we won't be back or recommend. I been to plenty of ranges this is not even worth the headache. Other ranges in the area may not have as much equipment but will save you the headache. I am still really confused by the entire interaction...but from reading other reviews I see this is a pattern. read more

I was there about a month ago. I had a guy that acted superior like he was a member of seal team 6, when in reality he was probably a member of stolen valor. I am a Marine combat infantryman that served a year in VietNam. I received a Purple Heart and was actually in real combat situations. I recently purchased a pistol. I wanted a class to brush up on safety. I know that in VietNam a person a day was dying from accidental discharges. I felt he was looking down on me and my buddy. I was going to give a 4 because of his condescending manner. I usually give everyone a 5 but in this case I didn't even think he deserved a 4 because it was too high. He said there were 2 things wrong with my gun. I called to find out they were. It took 4 calls to nab him. He was telling the person that every time I called he was busy in the range. That made me begrudgingly put down a 3. I felt he deserved less but thought a 3 would have to do. Wrong. I received a threat. He said that he possessed a set of skills particular to a certain situation. He included a link to a story about an arson fire in PHiladelphia. So weird. I made sure that some of my friends saw this, including a T-man. You never know with people like this. And that it is allowed without repercussions. Then I saw this page and felt I needed to add my story. read more

The owner asked one of the instructors to tell me I should not come back with my Target World shirt on right after I was done shooting for over an hour. They made sure to tell me after we paid over $200 in ammo and range time. Now to start there are no rules stating you can not wear competitors shirts on their website or in the center. I shoot at this range and numerous other ranges, just so happened that day I was wearing my Target World shirt. The owner stated to us that I came into the range intending to bash their business and advertise for Target World. When in reality I myself only know my intentions which was to go shooting with my friends. Now I believe that if this is the owners wishes he should offer shirts to his customers to buy or give them out for free with their logo. I am highly offended how the owner couldn't respectfully handle this. I am a manger of my place of business and we always look to resolve any complaints a customer might have, instead of the owner trying to resolve the issue he continued to accuse me of false intentions and then proceeded to ban both my boyfriend and I. He said we were a threat for which we made no threats. The owner also called me boyfriend numerous names while cursing at him. To top it off I later found out that the owner of Guardian has a personal issue with Target World, but I am a customer which should not be involved in personal problems. Seems like he doesn't know how to run a business properly and if he wants to implement rules he should have them visible for the customers to see, as well as offering a solution. Needless to say I will never go to this range again and it's only a matter of time until they shut down. I will be taking my business to places who value their customers. read more
