Our daughter practices and plays soccer games here, and our son goes to school across the street, so he and his friends often come over after school to hang out, relax, and spend some time outside. It's the kind of park that really brings the community together. The park itself is spacious, clean, and very well maintained. There's a large playground that younger kids absolutely love, and it's big enough that it doesn't feel crowded even when a lot of families are there. The splash pad is another huge hit, especially during the warmer months. It's a great way for kids to cool off and have fun while parents relax nearby. There are also plenty of open grassy areas, which makes it perfect for sports practices, pickup games, or just letting kids run around and burn off some energy. The park has several shaded areas and spots with grills, which makes it a great place for family gatherings, birthday parties, or just a casual afternoon with friends. We've seen many families set up and spend hours here enjoying the space. What we also love is how active the park feels. There are always people walking, playing sports, or just enjoying the outdoors, which gives it a really welcoming community vibe. It's clearly a place that a lot of locals appreciate and use regularly. The only downside we've experienced is the parking situation. Because the park is across the street from the high school, the parking lot often gets filled up during school events or games, and it can sometimes be tough to find a spot. A little more dedicated parking for the park itself would definitely help. Aside from that, this park is a fantastic community space and one our family truly enjoys. It's a great place for kids, sports, and spending time outdoors, and we're really grateful to have such a nice park nearby.

Well maintained Family fun ----- Longer Review We have played frisbee for a long time. Our son is on his school's Ultimate team (think "frisbee football"). We have a disc course in the park in town. We visited Southern California - Palm Desert, Yucaipa, and Malibu - for Spring Break 2021. Before our trip, a quick search found The Palm Desert Disc Golf Course / Hovely Disc Golf and Soccer Park. Mid-trip we visited with our cousins. We decided to play a round before dinner. We didn't consider that we would arrive in the "after school / before dinner" time... on a Wednesday... which in March meant that there were quite a few teams practicing soccer. That's ok... we adjusted. We couldn't play each hole, for we'd get in their way. We did play several holes and had fun. While the course is relatively flat, it is challenging. For the most part, the disc golf holes are on the "upper parking lot level" and the soccer fields are somewhat lower elevation, down a short hill. Most, but not all, of the tee boxes are at the same elevation. The course designers/builders did a nice job. There are plenty of man-made obstacles, from pavilions to light poles for soccer and palm trees. There is a good mix of distances on the holes. Any time playing disc golf is good. It's even better in the desert. Thank you Palm Desert Disc Golf Course / Hovely Disc Golf and Soccer Park. ----- ----- -----

The three dream MLB fields -- Wrigley Field, Fenway Park, and Yankee Stadium -- have outfield walls painted to look like the real parks, complete with crowds and replica scoreboard. These fields looked well-maintained. Our grandson's games were in "Yankee Stadium" under the lights and "Fenway Park". These fields are laid out so their home plates are adjacent separated by stadium seating and a "Stadium Club" with a full service bar and food. The food we tried was not so good (2/5), including cardboard pizza and cold French fries. Parking is tight. Admission is $8 pp for a full day with in-and-out privileges.

But the biggest problem is no shading for the premium stadium seats, only a little over the bleachers. That's unforgivable in Palm Springs where we were cooking in the stadium seats in late February - I can't imagine what it's like in May or June. One plus is foul ball nets above the stadium seats, but without shade there you'll want to avoid them for day games when the sun is out. Needs some true improvement.

*Best Dick's in Town"…read more Dick's is a mega-corporate chain that's now the #1 sporting goods retailer in the U.S, with over 700 locations as of 2024. Dicks had an IPO back in 2002 and trades on the NYSE under the ticket symbol DKS. Their retail prices are standard. But also some very reasonable pricing and great discounts & sales too. I still miss Sport Chalet and Sports Authority that unfortunately filed for Bankruptcy back in 2016. I also prefer to shop local and support the Mom & Pop shops. But brick and mortar sporting goods stores have become dinosaurs...so I've grown to like Dick's. It's become one of my go-to's when I prefer to try something on or experience the product prior, opposed to online shopping. And Dick's has much better quality brands and inventory compared to Big 5. Been to this location a handful of times, and each time made a purchase. I've also ordered from their website once because the size of the item I wanted wasn't in stock. The layout here is decent but the store itself is always clean and pretty well-stocked. There's usually a fair amount of store team members wandering around either stocking or tidying the sleeves & racks. A few of the Team Members here are very helpful & kind and seem to care about customer service and experiences. Reason for knocking off a star? Some of the team members here, as well as the ones at the check-out register, appear as what I call "dialing-it-in and punching a time clock" because they act as tho they don't wanna be here...and are too cool for the room. I wonder if this stems from management here...or they haven't a clue and my reason for pointing this out. Because some of Dick's Team Members need to be better Team Players or go take a seat on the bench.
