Never stepped foot inside a Dick's Sporting Goods before, but was on the hunt for some new walking shoes. The store is beautiful and a pleasure to browse, and the selection for women's sneakers was quite large. I had a very specific look in mind and though I didn't find it, I would definitely shop here again. The staff were super nice and helped answer my questions. On the way out the girl at the register said "Hey! You're really pretty!" Best easy marketing move ever. read more

Don't come here ! Staff is very hostile at front and doesn't speak up. Asked for a DSG shoe drop I saw online and they made me feel like I was talking gibberish. I called before hand to confirm and made the trip, just to be told otherwise! They even denied talking to me on the phone when arriving. That's why this place is rated 2.5/5 stars. Don't expect much Now, let's wait for the excuse comment... read more

*Best Dick's in Town" Dick's is a mega-corporate chain that's now the #1 sporting goods retailer in the U.S, with over 700 locations as of 2024. Dicks had an IPO back in 2002 and trades on the NYSE under the ticket symbol DKS. Their retail prices are standard. But also some very reasonable pricing and great discounts & sales too. I still miss Sport Chalet and Sports Authority that unfortunately filed for Bankruptcy back in 2016. I also prefer to shop local and support the Mom & Pop shops. But brick and mortar sporting goods stores have become dinosaurs...so I've grown to like Dick's. It's become one of my go-to's when I prefer to try something on or experience the product prior, opposed to online shopping. And Dick's has much better quality brands and inventory compared to Big 5. Been to this location a handful of times, and each time made a purchase. I've also ordered from their website once because the size of the item I wanted wasn't in stock. The layout here is decent but the store itself is always clean and pretty well-stocked. There's usually a fair amount of store team members wandering around either stocking or tidying the sleeves & racks. A few of the Team Members here are very helpful & kind and seem to care about customer service and experiences. Reason for knocking off a star? Some of the team members here, as well as the ones at the check-out register, appear as what I call "dialing-it-in and punching a time clock" because they act as tho they don't wanna be here...and are too cool for the room. I wonder if this stems from management here...or they haven't a clue and my reason for pointing this out. Because some of Dick's Team Members need to be better Team Players or go take a seat on the bench. read more

Long wait for any sort of service. Came in today with my son, trying to find something for his baseball games. The people working here were not helpful. Prices were a bit high. Somoene said they would help, they dipped out but never came back. So I was prety upset about that. Ended up leaving and went to another store. read more

I bought a new treadmill and received excellent customer service from the store manager, Eric. When my delivery got delayed he jumped into action and made sure I received my treadmill as promised. He and Ray delivered and assembled the equipment in record time and their personal involvement in remedying the situation spoke volumes in terms of how much they care about their customers. Highly recommend this store and employees who make a difference! read more

Came in looking for some golf equipment, good prices and friendly people. I had several questions and found them to be helpful. They had a lot to choose from when it came to both the gear and some proper atire that I needed to wear for a club thing I was going to lol. Looking forward to coming back. read more

At approximately 11:30am, I went to Dick's Sporting Goods to buy a golf glove. One register was 3 families deep, the other had a girl that was on her phone, oblivious to the customers waiting. Go to PGA Superstore for golf items, they have plenty of registers. read more

Great staff and big store. Love this Dick's location at the Palm Desert Mall. Especially after a long, hot day, they stay open an hour later than the mall (9pm on weekdays) and it is cool and clean inside with plenty of space to enjoy shopping and checking things out. We bought hiking sticks and bike supplies. Kevin was super helpful with all our questions, and his coworkers were too even tho it was almost closing they did not make us feel rushed. Nice store! read more

I started playing tennis in the area with some friends, and they had a lot of cool things to choose from here. They had some rackets, clothing, necessary attire alongside the tennis balls and such. I'm still fairly new to the game, but they were helpful. They had good prices, it's located inside the mall. read more

I assume this is the place inside the mall. I do come here quite often, and always had a good experience. The selection is vast, they have a lot to choose from. Service is good, never any problems. They have good prices. Would recommend. read more

Aneth was super sweet today! She helped me & was a delight to work with. I ended up buying some ASICS Kanyos and they are fantastic. I really like it when store employees are nice & helpful & leave me with a pleasant shopping experience. Please make sure ANETH GETS A BONUS AND A RAISE! read more

I returned a sweatshirt today that I wore once and the cuffs were fraying. Never washed it. I was told they don't take used items. After saying I'll go change out of it and just return it, they said ok. But, after I did that they continued to complain about it, gave me surly attitude ....you'd think I was committing a crime. And I was holding two new sweatshirts I said I was buying. Finally, they said ok. It was humiliating and petty. I won't be back. read more

Rude and unhelpful sales associate. Asked to price match exact item on website and would not accommodate the requests. I have done this before not sure why it couldn't be done this time? Get employees trained in customer service. Lost the sale and a customer. read more

Shop at your own risk of injury- literally. Dicks Sporting Goods doesn't give a damn about the safety or commitment to its customers. While trying on a pair of hiking boots, a detached security tag left a one inch razor sharp pin inside of the boot. When I inserted my foot, the pin drove a quarter of an inch into my foot all the way to the bone. I screamed. I Removed my foot from the shoe, and pried the pin out of my foot and started bleeding on the floor. The manager came (Humberto) with an alcohol wipe and a bandaid. I calmly conveyed my irritation. He flippantly responded, "would you like to file an incident report? " and offered me a measly 15% discount on the purchase. Left me with the impression that he may have thought I deliberately stabbed myself for a discount! Well, "Humberto" (Dicks sporting goods manager) Here is your incident report. 15 % off and I get to limp for 3 days read more

Whenever I experience exceptional customer service, I want to make sure that I 'spread the word' to encourage others to check out my recommendations. I recently had great luck at Dick's Sporting Goods in Palm Desert. Not just from the Store Manager, Eric Gomez, but from the other two sales associates who helped me. Clearly, this store values customer service. A few details of what worked: Since I'm ancient, my fitness program is critical to my well-being. The staff at Dick's helped me complete my shopping list of gear, including a half-foam roller. Because I'm a visitor to the Coachella Valley, they made sure that I had a way to get my items and then followed up within five days to put the gear in my hands. I wish it was as easy to do my workouts. So if you have a list of gear for your Spring Visit or need help with some difficult to find sports item, go see the helpful folks at Dick's in Palm Desert. read more

I received excellent customer service from Lane at Dick's Sporting Goods today. I was there with my daughter, looking for little girl trail shoes... Which are hard to find apparently. Lane must've spotted the lost look on my face. He was prompt to assist and measure my daughter's foot. While there was nothing suitable in stock, Lane assisted us in ordering online. Thank you for the help! read more

Guess I got lucky compared to some of the other reviewers here. I was in town for a long weekend of hiking at Joshua Tree and needed a few essentials that couldn't travel with me on the plane -- namely, fuel for my camp stove and some Mountain House meals. The gentleman in the camping section was super helpful, gave me his thoughts on some of the meals I hadn't tried yet and even offered some recommendations for where to camp/hike in Joshua Tree. No line at either check out on the two visits I made (after I realized I'd forgotten to pack my wool socks! Less variety for those than the food, but I got what I needed). In fact, the biggest hassle was just trying to figure out where to park at Westfield -- got quite the hike in just getting from my car to the store! read more

Great customer service and salesman, Antonio. I came in for some new runners and Antonio was polite, efficient, and VERY knowledgeable. Went the this location to get a new pair of walking shoes. I have plantar fasciitis and need solid shoes with superior arch support. Matthew in the shoe department was a great help with what I needed. I ended up with a pair of shoes that fits my needs. Only reason for four instead of five stars is my preference for Hoka shoes which they don't carry. read more

Humberto had excellent customer service skills. He went out of his way to make a customer not just a sale. He made a difficult situation with a broken golf club I had previously purchased very easy. "Football cleats?...we don't I have to go to the back to see what we have..." Don't advertise for the valley wide football program without actually intending to carry football products. It appears that it is just intended draw in the customer without intending to provide the product. read more

DICK'S Sporting Goods - Sports Wear Near Me - Palm Desert, California

Corporate chain sporting goods store ... you know how that goes. What was nice? Very good -- way better than I would've expected at a chain store -- of running shoes and accessories. Brooks, Asics, Superfeet, 2XU -- more than just the usual Nike & Adidas. Ample supply of accessories and nutrition available too. As expected -- very weak selection of men's running apparel. Just the usual racks of huge, baggy, basketball-style men's apparel. Better to go to any of the local shops: Running Wild, Brickhouse, and Palm Springs Cyclery, among others. But if you're in the mall and in a pinch, sure, I guess. read more

I decided to stop by here on a whim during a recent trip to the desert with my family. I usually hit up this mall to browse and maybe buy something at the nice Macy's located inside, but I thought I'd try Dick's just to look around. I was pleasantly surprised! There it was, right smack in the middle of a Westfield corporate mall, a Dick's that sells not only ammo, but sporting arms, knives, archery equipment, and a bunch of other outdoors related items. I have to say the selection of ammo was really good, especially since they had the oh so elusive .22LR in stock. I bought my allotted limit of deuce-deuce, as well as some .223 and .30-06. The 2 gentlemen in the gun area who helped me, as well as the female cashier, were very nice and respectful. No gun shop douchebag commandos here. The rifles and shotguns seemed to be reasonably priced but I didn't really take a close look because Palm Desert is just too far for me to drive twice in 10 days to buy a firearm. Everything else looked pretty good, but I do wish they had a bigger tennis section. I was looking for a tennis polo style shirt but they had a very limited selection and I had to go up the street to Sports Authority for that. Also, the shoes seemed to be priced at full retail value, so that's why I gave it a 4 star rating. Otherwise, this place is great and I will be sure to stop by this Dick's store every time I go visit the Palm Springs area. read more

I bought a Yeti cooler for $300+ at Palm Desert Dick's and they will not allow an exchange for a model that was immediately upgraded. Oddly, my brother made the same purchase at a different location and they exchanged it with no issue. The sales girl was rude to me and suggested i contact Yeti if i "didn't like it anymore." My suggestion would be that Dick's backs up what they sell and fire rude employees. And if you get complaints about a supplier's product- take it up with the supplier and don't pass it off on your customer. (x-customer) Very lame experience. And btw i did contact Yeti and they made the exchange... politely and professionally. read more

We stopped in to check out this New Sporting Goods Store. It's in the middle of the Westfield Mall. What a breath of fresh air compared to Sport Authority down the road on the 111. Unlike the SA, this store is well lit, very clean, well organized, and had a selection of men's Nike, Under Armor, & Reebok apparel that I have not seen at either Sports Authority or Sports Chalet. It's not cheap here--It was full retail for everything when we stopped in. Not sure if they ever have discounts or sales? But it seems like you can find some unique items not too many places sell as well as the usual. I would definitely check em out, especially if you need something special or different. read more

Dicks in Palm Desert CA. is a shining example of no customer service. This very large location with poor selection and no one who can be bothered to help. If this store represents how Dicks business model works, it looks like store closure in the near future. Scott K. read more

This place has a pretty good selection, and they typically have some good sales. DICK'S Sporting Goods - Sports Wear Near Me - Palm Desert, California

The only reason why Dick's is getting one star is because there isn't an option for no stars. I've been there three times and have had the exact same experience. There's never any sales associates available and when you ask for help you get the deer in the headlights look. I went shopping for trail running shoes but they had none available although this location is 1 mile away from the hottest hiking area in the entire valley - the bump and grind.
