Guard Appliance Repair has been wonderful. We wasted 6 weeks with Sears trying to fix our LG refrigerator. It was a very annoying process with so-called "technicians" coming out and doing what they called a diagnosis (i.e., standing 5 ft away from the refrigerator before installing parts that the other "technicians" told them on the phone may fix the problem). In addition, we paid them $592 for a new control board and then they delivered a used control board...and the refrigerator still did not work because they installed the wrong board. We finally contacted Guard Appliance as one of the certified providers for LG in our area. They came out the next morning and worked on our refrigerator at 7:00 AM (allowing us not to miss any more work). They diagnosed the problem quickly and installed the correct control board (which was new and only cost $280). Unfortunately, that didn't solve the problem and we have moved on to a new version of the same LG model refrigerator. Guard Appliance went one step further, they removed the new control board and refunded us the $280 we had paid. The experience with Sears was disastrous, but there is one shining light. Guard Appliance Repair was very professional and honest, and truly cared about our ordeal with Sears. Although we don't look forward to problems, we do look forward to working with Guard Appliance Repair again when we need our next repair. One final note on Sears -- they have not responded to several requests to take their old control board back and give us a refund. It is sad to see a company like Sears fall to such a low level. However, it is also wonderful to see a local company like Guard Appliance Repair provide such quality service and care. read more
