I don't find Mexican restaurants like this in my home town Orange County, I come here everytime I visit our niece. So this time I thought I would try something new. So I ordered their shrimp gordita. My goodness the 'puffs up' tortilla is just so soft and fresh, the fish and shrimp are always fresh and they are delicious Highly recommended read more

We like to try out different Mexican restaurants around lake county. Some you immediately cross off the list as been there tried that never go back but this one is a keeper! Will definitely be returning. Some of the best homemade chips and salsa I've ever had. Husbands steak burrito was huge and very tasty. I had the chicken enchiladas dinner. They had great flavor, beans were good and delicious fluffy rice! Can't wait to come back and try other menu items. read more

Our go-to for takeout -- we love their enchiladas, fajitas and tacos! Always hits the spot!

Great food I order at least once a week! Service is great! Waitress are great! Im ordering a steak Burrito dinner! Comes with rice and beans

I'm sad that I don't live close anymore because this has been the best chilaquiles I've had in a long time. I think there's new management since I was last here and the inside has been updated. But the menu is the same it's always been. read more

You must get the guacamole if you come here. We visited for dinner during the week and while the restaurant was busy we were seated right away. The waitress however appeared overwhelmed with half of the restaurants tables. She made a mistake with our drink order but immediately corrected it. The guacamole was the favorite of the table. Our meals were all pretty good but not to a 5 star level. I'd come back for a margarita and guacamole any day! read more

This place is amazing! It's cute in there, and overall a nice atmosphere. The food came out fast and hot, and the server was very nice. I ordered the Nachos Con Carne because I panicked a little, but I was happy. My brother got a Steak Torta and absolutely devoured it. My mom got the Steak Tacos which she liked, but preferred the nachos more. And my dad got the Skirt Steak Plate which he loved. Overall great place read more

Amazing find! Passed on the way to St. John's and saw this location. On the way home stopped for dinner and the food is better than some established places in Pilsen, Little Village or Chicago. I don't leave reviews but this deserves it. Staff was friendly and the ambiance great. We had the Tampiquena, camarones a la diabla, taco platter and guacamole-all were superb. Also had the Paloma drink and was very good. It's a 40 minute drive from Orland Park, but well worth it. We'll be back! read more

Great food and service, with the perfect atmosphere. Truly authentic. The queso fundido with chorizo was amazing, as were the chicken enchiladas and tostada suizas. We thought the guacamole had a little too much lime, but that's just our opinion. It was still good. Overall, thumbs up! read more

A true gem here, amazing carne asada. They food being prepared here is equivalent to top end Mexican restaurants . They serve large portions, very easy to have alligator eyes and a hummingbird stomach. .. read more

Passed this restaurant countless times decided to go in...I had not eaten all day!!! I ordered the shredded chicken burrito that came with: lettuce tomato rice beans salsa (mild) and crossed out the sour cream. I ordered a Topo Chico mineral water to chase down. All for $12 ... a little on the pricey side. The burrito was great tasting. The chicken was well seasoned the hot salsa was just that but not too overpowering. Great experience still on the fence about the price. Will go back to try the taco special for $1.50. read more

Great burritos! Excellent service. Food is always prepared to perfection. I would highly recommend.

Brightly colored walls welcome you into this place. It's a slight dive but looks pretty clean. The chips are thick and filling, refills came fast. The salsa is very mild so anyone could eat it. Not my favorite but that's not a loss I'm not a huge salsa eater anyway. We ordered guacamole and it was really good. I especially liked the huge chunks of avocado and the fact it wasn't just a pile of onions, tomato and cilantro. I got pop, hubby got water. They don't have fountain drinks so no free refills. Hubby had an enchilada dinner and he thought they were great. Better than a place down the street we tried. I had a steak burrito it was big. WARNING because I wasn't expecting it (not a fan) there was sour cream in my burrito. It was still tasty but I just don't like sour cream in my burrito. Makes it cold. The meat had a good flavor. Beans, cheese and tomato seem to be standard other than that. I got double beans because I'm not a fan of rice. Beans were okay. Hubby said his rice was great, standard / nothing special. It's just rice. Couldn't finish my burrito. Went to pack everything up and the waiter gave me one box. I had to explain I'm one of THOSE people... I don't want my guacamole/ beans / burrito touching. He said no problem and grabbed me another box no problem. So I would be up for trying their breakfast. What we ate was pretty tasty so no complaints. 1 pop, guacamole, burrito dinner, enchiladas dinner = $33.38 (that was w/ tax) and we have leftovers. We shall be back PS. My hubby just bought a Horchata and it is pretty tasty. He didn't see that on the menu and we walked it. Also they don't just take cash anymore they do card or check as well. Paying cash is cheaper because they charge you the transaction fee. They have that right on the door as you go in. read more

I have tried this restaurant on 3 separate occasions and have had stomach issues afterwards every time. I also have heard the same from 2 other people. I would skip this place - your GI system will thank you. read more

Came here recently to continue my burrito quest. I always order my steak burrito the same way. Steak, cheese and beans, very light on the beans. $ 11.55, nice sized one, way to much bean to enjoy it. Yuck, never again. read more

Pretty good food. Sometimes I worry about the cleanliness of place but good food. Everything that I have had is pretty good.

Excellent! We'll definitely be back. I recommend shrimp fajitas, chicken enchiladas and a side of guacamole.

Nasty nasty nasty. I had the skirt steak with rice and beans. The steak smelled like dog, the beans where so so and the rice was cold. I make better Mexican food at home or go to Taco Bell for better tasting food. read more

Absolutely the worst Mexican food I have ever eaten. I've tried this place more than several time because it is right across the street from me (I mean I really tried). Every time I go it gets worse. The service also sucks which sometimes gets by if it's great food. This place doesn't have a chance. I'm pretty sure the cooks don't have taste buds and the servers could care less. read more

This place is legit. I come here so often I don't even need a menu. The food is always perfectly cooked and the service is great. I recommend the " esquite " to start with which is their take on street corn and to follow the carne en su hugo! It's better than the one I make at home that's for sure! Nice to have an authentic Mexican restaurant so close to home! Grab an horchata on your way out for a sweet treat. read more

So this is a hard one for me. I am giving 3 stars only because they have always been my go to for authentic Mexican food. But today I ordered chicken enchiladas and it was all mush inside, a baby could have eaten it. It was the consistency of pudding. There was absolutely no texture to the chicken and the flavor was completely off. I have to say I was confused because the owner, who also is the cook has always made delicious food. The only thing I can think is that someone else did the cooking. If that is the case, that person can't cook and needs to be fired. You cannot charge people for slop! read more

If you want to spend $30 for 6 skimpy ass steak tacos with cilantro and onion, jarritos are $2.75 each plus tax, I'll be going next door and buying the ingredients and making tacos my damn self next time, overpriced pandemic "meat prices going up" sign on the door is a joke. read more

This place is off the hook. I always eat out, stay in Chicago but came to work in this area, man can I tell you. Al pastor is bomb. Trust me!!! Give al pastor quesadilla in tortilla de harina, flour tortilla. Ohh man, won't disappoint. Pastor tacos are delicious also.. read more

I had a cheese quesadilla and a coke and Waac charged over 8 dollars for this. Sorry too expensive for me.

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants I have eaten at. It's small nothing special but very clean. The people are very nice. Their tacos are the best. The beef is very tasty, the steak is tender, chicken is slow cooked and shredded and the pork is also great. We haven't been disappointed with anything we have tried. They also serve breakfast. The food here is much better than Rubens only a few miles away. The only issue I have is they only take cash. If it wasn't for this we would eat here more often. read more

Very, very good food!!! Combined with very, very good service!!! My newest favorite restaurant!
