That's an additional $1.42, representing a 4% increase simply for using a credit card. Now, I understand that businesses incur credit card processing expenses. However, I question why customers should be responsible for absorbing those costs on top of the advertised prices. The restaurant does have a sign stating that items have both cash and non-cash prices, encouraging customers to "Pay by Cash and Save!" However, the sign does not clearly disclose the percentage difference between the two payment methods. What's particularly frustrating is that my restaurant receipt showed $35.51 as the total, while the separate credit card terminal receipt showed $36.93. Interestingly, the terminal receipt also listed a "Cash Discount" of $0.00. If the actual price for customers using a credit card is 4% higher, why isn't that amount clearly reflected on the original itemized bill before payment? I believe customers deserve straightforward, transparent pricing. A customer should know exactly what they're expected to pay before reaching the payment terminal, regardless of whether they're using cash or a credit card. My issue isn't the $1.42 itself. It's the principle. Small, undisclosed or poorly explained price differences can add up, and consumers shouldn't have to compare two separate receipts to understand what they were charged. I encourage Restaurant El Fuerte to improve its pricing transparency by clearly displaying both prices or the exact percentage difference and ensuring the itemized bill accurately reflects the amount customers will pay. Good business practices begin with honesty, transparency, and respect for the customer. I've attached photographs of the posted pricing notice and both receipts so others can see exactly what I'm referring to.
