Prices are upfront, service writers don't try to sell you services that are not needed nor are they pushy. I highly recommend them to all my family members.

First call in the AM had them say "they don't work on cars older than 10 years....." despite the fact that it's THEIR make/model of car. Then they think because I was looking at just trading it in for a new car but the cars were too pricey for me, they called me back and I said that I wouldn't buy any car from them if they abandon me after 10 years.... they said "is there anything I can do for you?" Like, no... that's all you could've done for me and you didn't do it. Then the car repair place here tells me that this place does transmission work... so I give them another shot. The guy who answered the phone didn't seem like he was trained to talk to customers because it felt like I was talking to someone just out of high school... he told me after about 10 minutes of listening to Private Eyes by Hall & Oates constantly restarting itself on hold, "yeah, we can do it with a 3rd party part... but we need to do a diagnostic test first. Is that OK? (that kind of thing is about $200)" I asked *WHY* you'd need to do such a test when it's for the clutch... he said, "for liability." Now, I'm not paying for YOUR liability if you break something. If you want such assurance, do the diagnostic at YOUR expense and give me the report. Then he puts me on hold again for a bit and yes, Private Eyes by Hall & Oates starts over yet again.... and I gave up because this place just sounds like a complete mess. I don't care that it's 2 miles from my place. I'll take a place that's 10 miles down the road and deal with getting back over someone like this. To be honest, after today, I think it's more productive if I just set the damn car on fire. I'm beyond annoyed.

After I paid my deposit communication was lacking for nearly 7 weeks, even after promises were made. Since picking-up my car, I've taken the car in for servicing a defecting driver's side mirror twice, only to be ushered away without being seen by a service assistance, being made to feel stupid then angry. Upon visiting the second time even the service manager admitted it was defective and told the service assitant to order a whole new mirror. For eight days I played phone tag with the dealership, even though they knew I was a teacher and my availability. On my return messages I said when I could come for service (I live an hour away in MA). I was NEVER able to make contact to schedule the third visit to get the repair. I finally said I'm done and my last message said to cancel any future service, that I would no longer do business with the dealership. I then received a voicemail the next day.....while teaching, from the Service Manager, asking me to call him. Nope.....I'm done with New Country Lexus of Latham. I've put in writing to them that I want my 75,000 mile maintenance agreement cancelled and refunded, that if I had to pay out of pocket for my local Toyota dealership to do my servicing, then having this maintenance package was useless. I'm also considering just taking the loss and trading in the 7 month old car for the car I wanted originally (a Toyota Grand Highlander Max Platinum). I'll lose a bit in the process, but if this is how I feel after 8 months, I don't want to continue.

They do the work quickly, generally stand by it, and are friendly. The waiting room is large and clean with a great selection of drinks and comfortable chairs unlike other places that pack 40 people into an average living room. On top of that they have checked out basic issues for me without a cost, a light here, a piece of rubber there, and for this reason I continue to go to them. A good dealership should not nickel and dime you. If you have a Toyota, I would suggest this deal for warranty work, or if you are the type of person that wants the dealer to do everything. Even their prices on tires are fairly close to on-line places once you add in balancing and putting them on. I hate dealerships, but this one is at least passable, even when you are checking a car out, they don't immediately pounce on you, or at least it has not been my experience. The hourly work rate is about $60/hour if memory serves me right which is comparable or below other dealers.
