I hate to leave a bad review for a local business but unfortunately, the service I received here…read morewas not the best. When I got there, I was the only one in the shop it was early afternoon, and I believe the owner, a middle-aged, Hispanic man, was trying to be funny, saying that he only takes appointments. It's hard to tell if he was being serious or not, but after a few minutes, he said he was just joking. I informed him that the truck had been sitting for some time and I had a jumpstart. The reason I give this information is that in older vehicles sometimes you have to drive them for a while after they get jumpstarted to make sure the catalytic converter is working properly. A very simple procedure of connecting a computer, like that when you could use it, ORiellys's, could see if everything is ready to go for the smog check. He didn't offer that. He was working on the vehicle for a while, and other customers started showing up m on his phone slot on personal matters. After about 40 minutes he brought it to the front and told me that it didn't pass. He said it was a simple fix drive around and bring it back at the end of the day, but still charging me $60. didn't offer to use the coupon and was not user-friendly. This place used to be friendly but I can't recommend it anymore. On a side note, I went to Sunnyside Smog in North Fresno BLACKSTONE, and told them the same thing about not running for a while. They were very friendly and said, let's check to make sure everything is lined up, and ready to go and ran a quick check using a small computer at no cost! The technician advised me the truck still wasn't ready and still needed to be driven explained about the catalytic converter and said to come back when it was ready and they would give me a coupon for $25 off.

When I mentioned the $20 off coupon, he immediately applied it before I even had the chance to pull it up on my phone. Another customer who was leaving mentioned this is the only place she ever goes, and now I completely see why. I was in and out in about 20 minutes total. Even with roughly five other people arriving while I was there, he kept his cool, seamlessly paused to check everyone in, and kept the line moving fast. Top-notch customer service--I'll definitely be coming back!

However, A1 Star Smig came to the top with ChatGPT based on my lines, dislikes, and expectations of services to be rendered. It was 30 minutes away. Well outside of my distance scope. However, who am I to argue with ChatGPT. I arrived at the location and was immediately taken into the service section. There was another vehicle ahead of me. The technician handed me the paperwork and started the mechanical process. He stated that truck is going to take over an hour. Your vehicle will take considerably shorter to complete. How refreshing is it to do business with an entity that can balance time management while keeping their customers at a low stress level. I had my dog with me and fully expected to take her for a walk while we waited. Dog and I - very surprised by the time I finished the paperwork the mechanical process was done, uploaded to the State of California, and I had all documentation and receipt in hand - on my way to tge next stage. The technician was fast, efficient, helpful and kind. I am overdue getting this done and he just looked at me - without condemnations referred me to the closest AAA Office to avoid long DMV lines. How cool was that!? My daughter and son in law normally handled all of this for me. They are going through a divorce. So I felt it was time for me to take care of myself and my business. A1Star Smog made this transition to independence so much easier for this 76-year-old woman. Leaving us more time to get back to Mdera and have some much-needed dog park time. Therefore, if the dog could speak she would definitely tell you A1 Star Smog is dog-approved as well as human-approved .
