Unfortunately, the installation was not completed correctly due to their technician's lack of knowledge and led to multiple issues, including improper top alignment, damage to the new top material, modification of my vehicle without my authorization, and water intrusion that later resulted in additional repairs. Upon pickup, I immediately noticed a few issues: 1. There was a gap on the passenger side between the convertible top and the door frame (this didn't exist before the replacement). The technician said that it will take some weeks for the fabric to stretch out and get fitted to the frame. 2. There were two areas where the top was already damaged (small nicks) which the technician said was due to the top getting hooked by the door. Due to the top getting hooked by the door, the technician also said they had to slightly grind away the corner of my door so that it wouldn't further cut my top material. 3. Last issue and the most minor, the fabric from the interior has a plastic brace that clicks over an interior bar and this kept getting unclipped. Unfortunately, the gap never resolved, and I later learned the top had not been properly aligned during installation which led to water intrusion that eventually led to additional repairs which included the replacement of my water damaged ECU. After discovering the problem, I contacted Don's and had to wait one month and a half for an appointment. When I finally brought the car back for inspection, the technician was unable to identify the exact repair needed and directed me to Porsche for further diagnosis and to replace the ECU that was damaged before they could correct the top installation. Porsche confirmed that the top had been installed incorrectly and required alignment correction and replaced my ECU. I contacted Don's immediately, and spent months contacting Don's and their manager Desmond trying to get my installation corrected. Don's offered a replacement top but refused to install it, refused to pay for installation elsewhere, and refused to provide a refund for the installation service I originally paid for. In other words, I paid for a completed installation and correction of any installation-related issues, but the shop ultimately stated it was no longer capable of performing the work. What has been most disappointing is not only the installation itself, but Don's and their manager Desmond's lack of accountability, lengthy delays, poor communication, and lack of a meaningful resolution. I trusted the shop's expertise when I raised concerns immediately after pickup, and months later I am still left with the cost and burden of finding another shop to complete the work correctly. My experience can be summarized as follows: * I paid for a convertible top replacement that was not installed correctly. * I reported the issues immediately upon pickup. * Porsche later confirmed the top was improperly aligned during installation. * I incurred additional expenses for diagnosis and repairs related to the water intrusion. * Months passed while I attempted to have the issue corrected. * Don's ultimately stated they could not perform the corrective installation because they no longer had a qualified technician. * Despite being unable to complete the work, the shop refused to refund the installation cost.

Dan I brought my fully built mustang to dan for a ceramic…read morecoat. He charged me 1200 dollars to coat every thing on the car from the paint to wheels to the calipers. After the initial drop off he messaged me a few days later saying if he can take the car to his house because his shop is dirty. Now this is where I should've picked my car up and left. But supposedly this guy is a painter so I was like he will know what he's doing. He takes the car home and tells me it'll be ready Sunday. On Sunday he doesn't respond to me at all. He finally responds the next day saying I can come Tuesday. On Tuesday he doesn't respond again and Tuesday night I text him I'm gonna come either way tomorrow. So on Wednesday I go to his house to pick up my car. He left it outside for me to grab. I walk up to the car and instantly I saw a horrible job the wheels and calipers weren't even touched. They still had dirt all over them. The paint on the car didn't look shiny or coated correctly and to top it off he drove the car around and got a massive chip on the mirror. That's not the end of it he didn't even fill in the chips on the bumper like he said he would with the paint pens I bought for him to use. Which weren't even in the car when I picked up I called him and he said I'll ship them to you. Which now I'm waiting for him to respond again because he just isn't true to his word. I have myself washed my car with better results then what dan did with my car. He basically charged me 1200 for absolutely no reason and gave my car a wash and buff I could've got from anyone for 200 bucks. He didn't clean the engine bay or the interior, he did absolutely nothing. I will tell you as a car guy please don't take your car here thinking it's any kind of quality work. Let me be the one who learned the hard way and you save your self the money. He lied about everything from the beginning to end. He is the most unprofessional person I've dealt with in sometime now. I literally have never felt a cheated out of my money. When I asked dan what kind of coating he used on my car he told me he used c quartz which Is literally the most entry level coating you can buy to coat vehicles. They are available on eBay and Amazon to purchase for 30 bucks. You would think a paint shop would know atleast a little better. But nope. He doesn't even have a quality microfiber towels i saw him using a Walmart one. I don't think dan expected me to know about this stuff. Most of his customers are insurance customer who can't tell a nickel from a dime. So I see why. When I got home I texted dan all the issues I saw he ignored me till I kept messaging him and he said sorry and gave me a excuse that it was hard for him to do it correctly lol his hands were cut up lol. And that I should bring it back and let him try again. Heck No. I could've done a better job on this car in 2-3 hours then did in 10 days. Stay as far possible form this place. Since it's raining I put the car in storage since the ceramic he applied isn't going to protect nothing haven't had the chance to take pictures of his work lol because their is literally nothing done. Take a look at the engine bay he never even touched it thatll explain everything. I'll add more pictures if it allows me to later when I take them. This car doesn't even look clean forget coated. It literally looks like what I dropped off with a car wash. He did nothing but joy ride this car and he has no idea how to detail, paint correct, and coat correctly. Autozone tools is not it. I don't want to keep going on the things he did wrong because yes their is way more unprofessional Stuff that took place but I've said enough for you to see this and run away from this place. LESSON LEARNED.

I planned for this. He ended up keeping the car for (3) THREE MONTHS "customizing" the car to include new stereo, dip colours, "wing doors", and a variety of other custom work. The cost was $5k. I put $3,800 down (check to Gaudreau) in advance of completing work. With my car tied-up for three months (honestly, I was desperate to have all the customizing done) I had to rent a car during this time at, of course, additional expense. "Jay" and I agreed to a price reduction of just the $3,800. He was also unable to supply the gull-wing doors, and this cost was removed. As I drove the car, things began to go wrong; the stereo wasn't working, the lighting was intermittent, the base component stopped working. When I spoke with Jay, he apologized. He told me he had different aspects of the customization done by far less experienced people he "farmed the work out to." This didn't fix the situation and I threatened to hav e my attorney contact Jay. Jay pleaded with me to not go this route. He told me his girlfriend was desperately ill, that his mother was desperately ill, same of someone else in the family. It was clear to me as much as initially liked Jay, he was largely INCOMPETENT. I took my car to Autosonics in Highland Park, IL. They first repaired the wiring Jay did which was literally hanging from the car bottom, dragging on the ground. A NEW Stereo was required, complete re-wiring, and a host of other reparations to make my car whole and fall in line with Mercedes expectations to not void my warranty. This was ANOTHER $5k. The car was $17k new. Mario, the owner of Autosonics, pout together several videos of what he found of Unique Dips work, so gto justify and advise me why the cost was so high to make it all right. This is a link to one video regarding "wiring": https://youtu.be/7gjwmECk4xM. It's called, "2016 Smart fortwo RUINED by Unique Dips." Mario said he had "never" seen such poor workmanship in his twenty years in business. I want everyone, regardless of your experience with Ray, to know MY experience with Unique Dips. I have a copy of a phone conversation where Ray/Jay admits his offenses in this matter, a text exchange in which Jay/Ray plead for mercy from me, and a handwritten note from Jay/Ray to pay me $500 in "regular" payments until we were settled. Nothing EVER came. Please reconsider doing business with this company, this person, he is capable of destroying your vehicle as he nearly did mine. Mario at Autosonics has offered to advise anyone who would like to hear, the description of my car as it went from Unique Dips to Autosonics.
