The dogs' dogs, Texan & Porky Pig
Brittany L.

We have been going to Grumpy's every Friday and are conquering all the different dogs. The Texan and Porky Pig did not disappoint. I LOVE the pulled pork. The dogs look forward to going and we love that everyone at Grumpy's recognizes us and them. :)

(left to right) Potato Grumpots, bow-wow-za and bow-wow-za w/ no onions.. plus two plain dogs for the dogs lol

Another Grumpys dog win... Delicious everytime ... Everything on the menu is a must hahaha

Left to Right: The "West Boylston St.", peppers, onions, and bacon. Then the "Mac-Roni", macaroni & cheese with pepperoni, my favorite

I've gone to Grumpy's a couple times this month after finding out about from a friend and you're not going to turn down a hot dog, they're delicious! But Grumpy's dogs are wicked good. The first time I was there I got 2 specialty dogs, the "West Boylston St.", which had peppers, onions and bacon on a hot dog, and the second... which turned out to be my favorite, was the "Mac-roni", that had macaroni & cheese with pepperoni. Soooo good! And I just had the same one today before I went to work. They're "dog" friendly too at Grumpy's since I brought along my 2 dogs, and the nice girl at the window added two halves of a hot dog for my pups. Hands down best hot dogs in the area!!!!

Summertime is hotdog season in my book. And I recently had the best hotdog I've ever had, courtesy…read moreof Trolley Dogs. One of their food trucks was at the Framingham Farmers Market this past Thursday. There was a wide variety of food available that evening, but for some reason, the Trolley Dogs food truck called out to me. As their signs say, they serve giant, handmade dogs. They're so big they have to use a mini sub roll, instead of a hotdog bun. You can order your dog as you like, or select from their menu of pre-planned dogs. I forget what it was called, but I ordered from the menu. My dog was topped with onion, relish, and hot mustard. It was super hot and humid on this day and I felt bad for the food truck workers. It must've been like an oven in there. The dog was so awesome I made my way back to the food truck afterwards to tell them so. If you enjoy an occasional hotdog like me, and you happen to see one of the Trolley Dogs food trucks somewhere, you should check it out! I promise, you'll be glad you did. P. S. I did not have one myself, but one of my companions had one of their craft lemonades. He raved about that Trolley Dogs offering as well.

Yeah, I wrote my first review of this place almost exactly two years ago and I was just starting…read moreout my BBQ Reviews. Since then I've been to over a hundred other places. I regret giving them 5 stars based off of the Ribs from that day and nothing else. I guess they have a second truck in Florida during the winter? Maybe they just take to truck to Florida for that season but it's a bit annoying because they keep saying where they are going to be but not what state. Anyways ... Still no regular brisket, just the sandwich. Now they have Egg Rolls ... yippee. I've come to a determining factor when it comes to the quality of BBQ spots. Unless they are known for them, if a menu has Egg Rolls or Loaded Mac and Cheese options ... it's probably bad. Need to spend a bit more time making your Mac and Cheese GOOD before throwing a bunch of bbq sauce and meat on it to make it look like it's good. And Egg Rolls are just ... no. Focus on the quality of the meat right out of the smoker, not all this dumb "how can we make it seem like fair food that dumb people will buy anyway". So Ribs were dry, not pre-cut like they were before, extra hard bark, Slathered in sauce to the point I was carrying a styrofoam carton of sauce with some ribs for garnish. Didn't even get a plastic knife to cut through them which wouldn't have worked anyway. Clearly these were cooked days ago and just reheated. And I was the first customer of the day. And they opened up 30 minutes late. Mac and cheese was extremely flavorless. That means it has so much NONE flavor to it that it sucks any flavor out of your mouth so you can't taste Anything. Just a White cheese sauce that should win a prize for least flavored food ever ... water has more taste than this. Coleslaw was too old, cabbage wasn't crispy anymore, drowning in mayo. Only reason I was eating it was because I needed to get the taste out of my mouth from the dry ribs. Oh and they had "on special" Fried Cornbread Bites ... Which is translated into Literal Language as "We have some old corn bread so well slice it up, butter it, and throw it in the frier for a few and charge more for it and call it a special" ... This is not quality BBQ. And they have 2 sauce options. Sweet and Hickory ... why they slathered my ribs in Sweet is beyond me. Doesn't matter anyway, they don't make either one of them. All these other 5 star reviews, especially the ones saying they've had BBQ in North Carolina and Tennessee and all that, If you don't eat BBQ like crazy then I guess you'll think it's great. Not every BBQ joint in the BBQ Belt is automatically some of the BEST BBQ on the planet. A LOT of them REALLY SUCK! But if your standards are chill then I guess you'll be okay with this place but personally I feel like you are getting scammed. Days old Ribs, Flavorless Mac and Cheese, Whole menu section dedicated to "Loaded" mac and Cheese to make it taste like something, Menu section dedicated to Egg Rolls to make it taste like something, Old Slaw, Brisket Sandwich but no Brisket plain, pictures posted of the same items aren't matching up, "Fried Cornbread" which is old cornbread but costs 3 times as much. Sorry, it's just not cutting it for me.

To put it into perspective, even if it was a $5 combo, I would still be deeply disappointed in the quality of the food. It wasn't just subpar quality as well, the hotdog served was lukewarm at most, and the bun was cold. Some fries just straight up weren't cooked. This was the very first time in my life that I've bought food from a restaurant and felt genuinely scammed. In fact, I have never left a negative review on anything in my life. But this business just seems disingenuous. Until they change their prices or improve the quality and effort they put into their food considerably, just don't waste your money. Originally from Portland, Maine, the cousins later settled in Southern California. Impressed with the Los Angeles food truck industry, they decided to start selling Maine lobster in the L.A. area. Lobster was typically viewed as a pricey delicacy, only served in precious portions at fancy restaurants. The cousins saved up enough money to buy a food truck. East Coast transplants raved about the authenticity, freshness and the copious amount of meat in the lobster rolls. Their success really took off after they were featured on an episode of the TV series "Shark Tank". The brand expanded, more food trucks were bought, and the first brick & mortar location opened in West Hollywood in 2015. As of 2026, the chain has 65 food trucks and two restaurants throughout 30 states as well as Washington, D.C. I recently sampled some of Cousins Maine's delicious lobster when I saw one of their trucks at a local brewery. The "Greater Boston" truck travels all across Eastern Massachusetts to stop at breweries, wineries, and various markets and festivals. I had previously sampled food from the "Greater Connecticut" truck. The menu consists of items made from Maine lobsters, such as Maine Lobster Rolls, Connecticut Lobster Rolls, lobster quesadillas, lobster tacos, lobster grilled cheese, lobster bisque, as well as New England Clam Chowder. After looking over the menu, I decided to order some "Lobster Tacos" (Maine lobster served with cabbage, pico de gallo, cilantro lime sauce, flour tortillas). They were simply divine and paired well with the beers that I was having at the brewery. I give Cousins Maine Lobster my seal of approval and I hope to see one of their trucks again!

Properly selected cheese complimented the flavor of the lobster. 2/10 Shrimp tacos were a joke, the shrimp was minuscule and tasted like they had been fried then sitting for days. I thought I was being pranked. I couldn't believe it. I wanted my money back for them. But didn't even bother. If they fix the shrimp the potential is there, not sure it's shrimp? Never seen or had shrimp like this before.

Kayem originated in Mass btw. I always appreciate loyalty to in state makers. The classic George's dog is mustard, meat sauce and chopped onions. Standard white bun. I've seen mixed messages online about how you're supposed to order that dog. I've seen "All the Way." (Which is also how they say it in Providence). I've seen "Three Up", which is a new one for me. But the Menu actually says that a Coney is mustard, meat sauce and onions. So I ordered two coneys and everything worked out fine. The hot dogs were good, both in terms of the components, and in the sum of their parts. My dogs were not particularly snappy. I could see a grill mark. So perhaps it just needed a bit more turning so that it was more well done. Kayem is a good hot dog in terms of flavor. I prefer some other New England brands though. The meat sauce is good, but the seasoning didn't pop for me in the way that my favorite meat sauces do. I'm sure part of this is what you grew up with though. George's is a cool, old school, hot dog joint, that I imagine still does it like it always has. If that's how you like your hot dog spots, I suspect you'll love George's. 4.25 Stars
