Saw this place pop up on my social media feed, was curious about their food, since I love brioche so much. I was there around 10:30-ish and there were 4 people before me and 2 came right after me, which means it's a popular spot, already feel positive. I ordered Manila, and it's so pretty! Just look at the color. Tons of flavors, but light. Lots of fresh & pickled veggies, nice gooey yolk, I love it when the warm yellow rich yolk slowly flow... and Philippine sausage, all in between my favorite buns -brioche!! The only not so good thing is it's a bit too gingery for me... but still good!! The only downside for this location is the parking. It's a bit confusing, but the good thing is that it's not a busy street.

The best breakfast sandwich spot in Salt Lake (RIP Frankie & Essels) Grumpy Dough's breakfast sandwiches are a bright spot at the Farmers markets. The bun is amazingly soft, the meats slap, the eggs cook to yolky perfection! My favorite is the Manila, it's just such a delicious breakfast sandwich. Plus the service is great. Definitely check them out.

I have been dying to try this place, and every time we've gone it had been sooo packed. We finally made it happen this weekend, and we were so excited to try it!! We ordered on DoorDash which the guy had recommended last time we went since they had a 30 minute wait. The order was ready in about 25 minutes, which it had said it would be on DoorDash. There is street parking right in front, but it's often full so we parked down the road and walked. I got the grumpy, and my husband got the bacon egg and cheese. We both agreed this brioche bread was incredible. Extremely soft and rich. The scrambled eggs on my sandwich had an amazing texture. The whole thing was delicious. It was messy!!! But it was okay because it came in a paper wrap. My husband loved his bacon, egg, and cheese and agreed we need to come back!! I didn't see them as an option to order on DoorDash, but they do have canned Diet Coke. I would highly recommend trying this food truck and be sure to order ahead of time. They have a couple of tables for seating.

This is a small, local owned business and the breakfast sandwiches are perfectly delicious! The bread is well toasted, perfectly buttered and paired with the best ingredients. This is a must go if you are in the SLC area because the other breakfast sandwiches do not compare! The service is excellent, they're always very nice and attentive.

Food Quality: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Cleanliness: N/A Value: 5/5 Tried out Grumpy Dough for the first time today while the truck was at the Wheeler Farm Farmer's market! Their line was long and the wait was about 30 minutes when we arrived, but well worth it! The taste of The Philippines is strong here -we got the Manila and I loved the Loganisa sausage patty! The burger came out fresh and every bite was so flavorful! The staff were friendly and welcoming, all check marks in my book! I can't wait to try it more of the menu next time!

After I'd taken only about a dozen screenshots to remind myself to get around to going to it, I finally got to try the food truck at the Wheeler Park holiday market and it did not disappoint! This is the Manila, and it was absolutely everything you want in a sandwich: something the Salt Lake area is desperately starved of. The pork sausage was tinglingly spicy and sweet, and paired with the punchiness of the pickled vegetables and creamy egg yolk, made for both textural and flavor perfection... and don't even get me started on the bun! I often feel like farmers market fare is overpriced for the quantity (quality and convenience are usually the emphases), but Grumpy Dough knocks it out of the park on all accounts. At only $13 for this masterpiece, I can wait to try the whole menu.

Omg this sandwich was so tasty!! Go there! We had just gotten off the plane and got to our hotel - Evo Salt Lake. We were googling and yelping places and stumbled on Grumpy Dough. It was in walking distance so we decided to head there hoping it was really open and there. Found the truck easily and both got the Bulgogi. Staff were friendly, food came out pretty quickly as not many others were there in early afternoon. Delicious, not greasy and would love to have it again. There is some seating outside as well. Bonus: there's a coffee shop where the truck is parked and a very yummy cookie place next door. Be prepared to eat some tasty food!

Grumpy Dough is a food truck next to Roots Coffee Shop and Ruby Snap Cookies. You'll have to park on the side of the road but we found a parking spot no problem. These breakfast sandwiches rival the ones in Las Vegas IMO. The prices are a little high but they are that good, so I didn't feel bad paying a higher price. I got the Manila and I've never tasted anything like it. It was so good, I'm still thinking about it. Filipino longganisa and pickled papaya! Where else can you find that in a sandwich? The flavors all worked together too. The brioche bun was toasted and very soft. Everything was cooked well. The service is a little slow but there is only one guy doing it all and when we were there, there were at least 10+ orders in. I honestly don't know how he does it and keeps the quality up. He is the nicest guy too. We got drinks at the Roots Coffee shop and talked it was fine. There are 2 small tables next to the food truck. We were lucky to get one of them. The Manila is really juicy because of the pickled papaya and cucumber so be careful. Luckily all the sandwiches come in a container to catch all the juice. I will definitely will go back again to try the bulgogi and maybe something with bacon (BEC). If you like breakfast sandwiches this place is a must try. You will not regret it.

A super unsuspecting Filipino food truck in SLC! At first glance, I really thought it was another cookie place haha. My brother has come here a few times and brought me this time. Man, these breakfast sandwiches were so yummy and filling. The Manila was my favorite because of the pickled veggies in it. The buns are crispy and buttery, and the sauces they use just pair perfectly with the protein in each sandwich. The owners are a super friendly couple! And the truck is parked right by a coffee shop you can eat inside, or there's tables outside! DEFINITELY come here if they're open (and don't be deceived, this aint a cookie truck haha). (Maybe some rebranding should be done?)

Just landed from the airport and was starving, so I searched for a place nearby and found Grumpy Dough and I'm SO glad I did! The food is super good everything tasted fresh and satisfying. I ordered the Manila Sandwich and it was so good definitely hit the spot after a long trip. The owners are also very welcoming and nice, which made the experience even better. If you're hungry and looking for something delicious, this place is worth it!

I would recommend. I tried the Manila sandwich. Everything was prepared very well. Very flavorful, love the texture of it all and how all the ingredients came together. The sandwich was a little bit sweet for my taste, but that's pretty much what they were going for. I may try another sandwich when I go back, but if you like sweeter meats, this is the one for you. I would love to go back and try some of the other options. Shout out to the owners. They were very kind

The name "grumpy" is fitting since that's how I felt trying to get updates on my order and finally getting my order nearly an hour after ordering. I understand they were backed up but the sign said 20-25 min wait which was long but for it do be double that without a text update is completely unacceptable. We came to the farmer's market early to enjoy it before it got hot. Instead of enjoying it we had to wait nearly an hour for an expensive breakfast sandwich. I was told multiple times it would be ready soon and each time I kept being told it was a few more minutes. Definitely put a damper in our morning and I couldn't enjoy the breakfast or the market after roasting in the sun waiting. Food truck pricing is never worth it for no ambiance and subpar food.

I love stopping by this truck whenever I go to the downtown farmers market. I order the Manila breakfast sandwich and add caramelized onions. It is delicious and an explosion of flavors in your mouth. The staff are nice but just always busy so there is usually about a 15-30 minute wait, but it is well worth it!

I have seen this place on social media, and when I saw how high the yelp score is with the number…read moreof reviews it has, I knew I had to try it. I invited some friends to go for brunch. On a Sunday morning at 11, there was no wait. I was surprised by this, but it looks like they may get busier in the afternoon. They don't take reservations, but you can get on the Yelp waitlist. The inside is cute with a decent amount of tables, and they have outdoor seating as well. Both the hostess and server were nice. For drinks, they have a variety of alcoholic and non alcoholic options. They don't have Diet Coke, so I went for a raspberry limeade. When in Rome ya know! I'm soooo glad I ended up getting this because it was delicious. The perfect combo of sour and sweet. Also, it has chunks of raspberry in it, which I loved. I prefer the actual fruit to a syrup, so I really enjoyed this. My friend got the honeydew cucumber mint limeade and let me try it. It was really good and refreshing!! My husband got a coffee and it was good. Both mine and my friends husband also enjoyed a mimosa!! For food, we started with the mini biscuits and hash bombs to start. Their biscuits, of course, are amazing. The jam that comes with them was great. The hash bombs were good but not my favorite. I didn't love the quinoa and wanted them to have cheese or something to make them a little more flavorful on their own. They were a great vessel for dipping in the really good limeade sauce that came with them. Everyone liked their main course. My breakfast tacos were delicious!! They came with chips and salsa. The salsa is a limeade and mint salsa. I didn't love it, but it was fun to try. My husband got the biscuit bar with gravy and said they were the best biscuits and gravy he's ever had. My friends got the hoss and garden hash and liked them both. This was a little bit of a weird experience cause halfway through our meal the server let us know that another patron at the restaurant had paid for everyone there. I had never had this happen before, and it was such a pleasant surprise! This place is a 5/5 regardless, but it was def an added bonus. I'm excited to come back and try something else cause the menu has so many standouts!!

This was definitely on my bookmark of places to try when visiting SLC, and it was a score that it was just 10-12 mins from my downtown suite. This was the first stop on my morning of return flight home. I ordered the Mother Butter Clucker $18. Pancakes, fried chicken, real maple syrup, egg, bacon, whipped butter. The chicken was crispy, but dry. I did request my pancakes to have crispy edges, and was told they can do so. My pancakes were pretty much burnt on the bottom half, making it difficult to cut and eat. They did remake the plate, but it was time for me to depart otherwise it was cutting into my boarding timeframe. I package this to go, and did not get to eat it; I tossed it at TSA. Bacon was good thick cut. The syrup was not warm as requested; it was cold. The cucumber limeade was okay, but it was much better once I left and discovered the sugar at the bottom of the rim like Mr. Columbus and gave that the best stir I could, and it became amazing! I also enjoyed my friend Raspberry limeade as well. He didn't care for it much, but I think I enjoyed his more so than mine. It could've been due to them actually stirring the sugar in that drink verse just placing the sugar at the bottom of my cup. Service was slow and friendly, I might give this place a redo whenever I return to SLC. (Because I didn't get to eat my food, I did eat the chicken and egg. I really wanted them pancakes though. )
