    Breakfast The Grumpy sandwiches yummmy

Oh my God, this family is such the sweetest and cutest thing I've ever seen in Salt Lake! The owners are from the Philippines and represent their culture and diversity so well. The breakfast sandwiches can take 10 to 20 minutes to make depending on how busy they are. And mind you we walked up, and there was two more parties behind us. We went next-door to get coffee right in front of the coffee joint there located at. And we stayed in the balcony on the second floor watching so many people come in. The best thing is you don't have to wait for your name to be yelled out. They give you a little device that vibrates one of your food is ready. And let me tell you it is SO WORTH IT TO COME OUT HERE! Support your local businesses and give this place a try. I am dying to go back and try a different sandwich. But it's filling and it's delicious and it's fresh and it's amazing and I want more.

Came to their food truck at a farmers market! Service was relatively quick and the actual sandwich was pretty good! If you haven't gone yet you should, but also wouldn't see myself going out of my way to go again.

Dude....dude. Dude this is damn good breakfast. Was staying at the Evo hotel near by and need some breakfast. Found a couple of reviews that pointed me here...thank you. Got there like 10:30am already 8 people rolling up. While I waited good 20 plus people came up to the truck. I went with the BEC. Egg done perfectly, bacon on point and the bun was a buttery finish. Wanted to try everything on the menu. Let my buddy know about this "not so secret spot" he didn't know was here. Only knock, but it's a good truck so only a few seats that might even be a part of the coffee shop. People we happy and it was chill vibe hanging with the everyone waiting and those enjoying breakfast. Throughly enjoyed. Left happy with full ice cold Mexican coke to wash it all down.

Saw this place pop up on my social media feed, was curious about their food, since I love brioche so much. I was there around 10:30-ish and there were 4 people before me and 2 came right after me, which means it's a popular spot, already feel positive. I ordered Manila, and it's so pretty! Just look at the color. Tons of flavors, but light. Lots of fresh & pickled veggies, nice gooey yolk, I love it when the warm yellow rich yolk slowly flow... and Philippine sausage, all in between my favorite buns -brioche!! The only not so good thing is it's a bit too gingery for me... but still good!! The only downside for this location is the parking. It's a bit confusing, but the good thing is that it's not a busy street.

I genuinely don't have the words to fully capture how incredible these breakfast sandwiches are. We ordered the BEC and the Manila--both absolutely packed with flavor--but the Manila completely stole the show. It's a Filipino-inspired sandwich that's so unique and unlike anything I've ever had before. Honestly, not only is it the best breakfast sandwich in SLC, it might be the best I've had in my life. On top of that, the customer service was amazing--friendly, welcoming, and just added to the whole experience. And it definitely doesn't hurt that it's right next to Roots Coffee, which makes the whole stop even better. I'll be thinking about that Manila sandwich for a long time.

The best breakfast sandwich spot in Salt Lake (RIP Frankie & Essels) Grumpy Dough's breakfast sandwiches are a bright spot at the Farmers markets. The bun is amazingly soft, the meats slap, the eggs cook to yolky perfection! My favorite is the Manila, it's just such a delicious breakfast sandwich. Plus the service is great. Definitely check them out.

Food Quality: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Cleanliness: N/A Value: 5/5 Tried out Grumpy Dough for the first time today while the truck was at the Wheeler Farm Farmer's market! Their line was long and the wait was about 30 minutes when we arrived, but well worth it! The taste of The Philippines is strong here -we got the Manila and I loved the Loganisa sausage patty! The burger came out fresh and every bite was so flavorful! The staff were friendly and welcoming, all check marks in my book! I can't wait to try it more of the menu next time!

This is a small, local owned business and the breakfast sandwiches are perfectly delicious! The bread is well toasted, perfectly buttered and paired with the best ingredients. This is a must go if you are in the SLC area because the other breakfast sandwiches do not compare! The service is excellent, they're always very nice and attentive.

After I'd taken only about a dozen screenshots to remind myself to get around to going to it, I finally got to try the food truck at the Wheeler Park holiday market and it did not disappoint! This is the Manila, and it was absolutely everything you want in a sandwich: something the Salt Lake area is desperately starved of. The pork sausage was tinglingly spicy and sweet, and paired with the punchiness of the pickled vegetables and creamy egg yolk, made for both textural and flavor perfection... and don't even get me started on the bun! I often feel like farmers market fare is overpriced for the quantity (quality and convenience are usually the emphases), but Grumpy Dough knocks it out of the park on all accounts. At only $13 for this masterpiece, I can wait to try the whole menu.

Omg this sandwich was so tasty!! Go there! We had just gotten off the plane and got to our hotel - Evo Salt Lake. We were googling and yelping places and stumbled on Grumpy Dough. It was in walking distance so we decided to head there hoping it was really open and there. Found the truck easily and both got the Bulgogi. Staff were friendly, food came out pretty quickly as not many others were there in early afternoon. Delicious, not greasy and would love to have it again. There is some seating outside as well. Bonus: there's a coffee shop where the truck is parked and a very yummy cookie place next door. Be prepared to eat some tasty food!

I have been dying to try this place, and every time we've gone it had been sooo packed. We finally made it happen this weekend, and we were so excited to try it!! We ordered on DoorDash which the guy had recommended last time we went since they had a 30 minute wait. The order was ready in about 25 minutes, which it had said it would be on DoorDash. There is street parking right in front, but it's often full so we parked down the road and walked. I got the grumpy, and my husband got the bacon egg and cheese. We both agreed this brioche bread was incredible. Extremely soft and rich. The scrambled eggs on my sandwich had an amazing texture. The whole thing was delicious. It was messy!!! But it was okay because it came in a paper wrap. My husband loved his bacon, egg, and cheese and agreed we need to come back!! I didn't see them as an option to order on DoorDash, but they do have canned Diet Coke. I would highly recommend trying this food truck and be sure to order ahead of time. They have a couple of tables for seating.

Grumpy Dough is a food truck next to Roots Coffee Shop and Ruby Snap Cookies. You'll have to park on the side of the road but we found a parking spot no problem. These breakfast sandwiches rival the ones in Las Vegas IMO. The prices are a little high but they are that good, so I didn't feel bad paying a higher price. I got the Manila and I've never tasted anything like it. It was so good, I'm still thinking about it. Filipino longganisa and pickled papaya! Where else can you find that in a sandwich? The flavors all worked together too. The brioche bun was toasted and very soft. Everything was cooked well. The service is a little slow but there is only one guy doing it all and when we were there, there were at least 10+ orders in. I honestly don't know how he does it and keeps the quality up. He is the nicest guy too. We got drinks at the Roots Coffee shop and talked it was fine. There are 2 small tables next to the food truck. We were lucky to get one of them. The Manila is really juicy because of the pickled papaya and cucumber so be careful. Luckily all the sandwiches come in a container to catch all the juice. I will definitely will go back again to try the bulgogi and maybe something with bacon (BEC). If you like breakfast sandwiches this place is a must try. You will not regret it.

A super unsuspecting Filipino food truck in SLC! At first glance, I really thought it was another cookie place haha. My brother has come here a few times and brought me this time. Man, these breakfast sandwiches were so yummy and filling. The Manila was my favorite because of the pickled veggies in it. The buns are crispy and buttery, and the sauces they use just pair perfectly with the protein in each sandwich. The owners are a super friendly couple! And the truck is parked right by a coffee shop you can eat inside, or there's tables outside! DEFINITELY come here if they're open (and don't be deceived, this aint a cookie truck haha). (Maybe some rebranding should be done?)

Well, I must have loved it since I went twice!! First day tried the BLT as well as a chocolate croissant which is to seriously die for, it is a must. Kiaya (lord I hope that is right) was my server and she was excellent. I had a Pellegrino Blood Orange soda along with my lunch and loved the salad dressing as well! The sandwich was with 1/2 salad and 1/2 potatoes, yum yum. The second time, I had Connor (he will remember Sheldon) who served me. He was awesome. I tried out a blueberry mimosa, an iced mocha and a water (I had been walking a lot and was tired and thirsty, don't judge). Then I just wanted that dang BLT again! I also ordered another almond chocolate croissant (I know, I know, should have tried something else). Well I did get a cookie too! My lunch was taking a little long, so they also brought out a couple of pastry items to try as well, so yum yum! The Chocolate Macaroon was also so wonderful and I cannot say enough about this quaint spot. It did fill up during lunch on the Thursday, so get there early or late! PROS: Main street, easy access from transportation/offices Great selection of homemade pastries Nice choices for drinks (obviously, I tried a few) Super quaint bistro style inside Outside seating under shade and a tree Attentive and exceptional employees (CONNOR) CONS: Parking may be an issue, although some on-street parking available DON'T THINK, JUST GO! Lots of choices.

The warm skillet rolls were delicious, although we didn't love the herb butter. I had the chicken, which was excellent, but the seasoning on the veggies wasn't my favorite. We finished with the pie sampler -- chocolate cream, banana cream and key lime. All were delicious, but banana cream was my favorite! Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and exactly the right amount of present (if you know what I mean). I enjoyed the maitake on rice with cashew cream and it was delicious. The salty mushrooms were mellowed by the chewy rice. The cashew cream gave a nice variation in texture. I didn't leave a morsel behind. The harissa carrots were nice as well. They are cooked soft and have a moderate spice level that is again contrasted by the mild labneh and tahini base. I had to save the rolls with herb better for last. Oh. My. God. These were divine. I'm a sucker for bread of any kind but these are what the Hawaiian dinner rolls wish they could be. They are perfectly pillowy and the herb butter just elevates them. Do not miss these for more "sophisticated" fare. If I lived here, I would definitely come back. Everything was considered and well-executed. Bravo
