History

Established in 2008.

Alexis M. Kimbrough, of PG County, founded Growth Group in 2008 during her senior year at Howard University, in Washington, DC. During the beginning stages, Growth Group focused on Maryland income tax preparation for individuals. After inquires from clients needing a small business accountant, Growth Group expanded the services to include both bookkeeping and accounting services for entrepreneurs. Based in District Heights, MD, Growth Group strives to be a leader in small business accounting, taxation, and bookkeeping services. The services offered include state and local taxes such as sales and use, income, payroll and withholding, and personal property. We are currently serving clients nationwide and work with sole proprietors, partnerships, limited liability companies (LLC) and corporations as a Maryland small business accounting firm.

Meet the Business Owner: Alexis K.

Born in Kansas, Alexis Kimbrough received her B.A. Accounting from Howard University and Master of Taxation from American University. Alexis is a business accountant, tax expert and bookkeeper. She enjoys helping entrepreneurs meet their growth goals through coaching and sharing her accounting expertise of small businesses. Alexis draws 98% of her inspiration and love for small businesses, entrepreneurs, and the like from her parents, which are both accounting, tax, and bookkeeping clients of Growth Group! Her mother has always owned her own business and has managed several successful small business ventures in direct sales and achieved many of the "perks" from her efforts, including trips abroad. As a medical professional, her father, works as a contractor and serves rural and urban communities with much needed medical expertise, that has previously been limited or unavailable.
