I lived at Lambskin Lofts from 2014-2016 and let me tell you...this was by far the worst apartment I've ever lived in. Don't believe the fake reviews from people with incredibly low standards/people who work for management.
I had packages stolen because the mail-room door is easily opened and left unlocked 24/7. The garage door was minuscule and almost impossible to fit my regular-sized sedan into. Worse than that, the garage door was constantly broken and therefore remained wide-open during the day. One day, someone took advantage of the open garage and stole resident's items that were stored there. All my crates were turned inside-out and I lost several prized possessions from my childhood that are irreplaceable. The robber even attacked one of the residents with the bike that he had stolen. That resident used to park in the garage but switched to street-parking only...I wonder why.
Maintenance was practically nonexistent. Contrary to all of the fake glowing reviews, Howard is NOT a gift to the apartment. He is lazy, incompetent, and doesn't care about your safety. When I warned him that the ceiling was leaking rainwater THROUGH A LIGHT FIXTURE, his solution was to put a bucket underneath. It took well over 6 months for management to replace the ruined carpet and patch up the ruined ceiling. The leak was never actually fixed, because it was clearly an issue with the roof.
In a totally unrelated incident, I woke up one morning to find the entire building flooding down the walls because guess why? A former resident who had already moved-out had left the windows open in his apartment during winter, so his pipes froze and burst. Management never checked to make sure his windows were shut. The entire building flooded down to the basement. The walls looked like they were crying, the carpets were ruined, and the only reason it stopped was because one of the residents who had lived there for years took it upon himself to go down to the basement and shut off the valve from the city water lines. This is the same man who confronted the robber in the garage and was attacked. He is a local hero.
Maggie Minton is by far the most useless, incompetent real estate "manager" I have ever met. She's great at answering emails if you want to rent a unit, but after you move in...GHOST. You will never hear from her again, she will never respond to emails, phone calls, or texts, and she will charge you for cleaning after you move out even though my wife and I spent an entire day cleaning her unit head-to-toe. Need I add that the units are dirty when you first move in? In some cases they even have previous tenants' personal effects left over...as was the case with mine.
In short, do not live here. There are far better, newer, nicer apartment complexes in The Grove up for grabs. This building is ancient and should be demolished. read more
