The staff are so super friendly; there is never an issue with wanting to change any notes into gold coins to use the self service washing machines and dryers. The prices are so affordable, yet my clothes are washed and dried within an hour. For only $12 a pop this is exceptional. This price includes both washing and drying. To cut a long story short: the landlord of my fully furnished city apartment has still not fulfilled on her promise to buy me a new washing machine as the current one is not working despite repairs. I have given up, and within good reason. I mean why own a washing machine and/or dryer when you have Melbourne City Dry Cleaners come to the rescue? Point taken. My clothes feel smooth and great to wear after a great wash and dry using commercial grade washing machines and dryers, once again for a great price. Bring a book to read; call people you need to catch up with; play games on your mobile phone or get out there and go for walks while you are waiting for your clothes to wash and dry. Remember to bring your own detergent, otherwise there is a small additional fee involved if detergent is provided to you. Ten thumbs up if I could have this capacity to do so!

So this laundromat/dry cleaner is located east in the CBD. Not too near my first place but the tram is free round trip. The place is small, I counted maybe ten dryers and ten washers. I'm only interested in drying and you currently get ten minutes for $2. The layout is all wrong but that's due to space. A bench seat is located in front of the washers and if it's packed you'll have to musical chair it or stand. I'm not griping just giving the facts. There is also one high folding table. In all fairness I don't think this place is ever packed but in my visit they had steady foot traffic for dry cleaning. As long as I stay in the CBD this is my spot. Again, hang dry is for the birds.

Dinkums is great, and by great I mean great until you really need something done…read more As a printer and binder found in the city, they offer a range of printing and binding solutions. They also have scanners for all your imaging needs, as well as computers for you to work on if needed. There's also a wicked guillotine for cutting, and bad one found beside it and a number of photocopiers. All of this sounds marvelous doesn't it? The prices are good and the people are really nice about their work. Ok, bad thing? It's busy. And I don't mean like a little busy. It's insane. I suppose everyone leaves their copying and such to the last minute like myself, and so we like-minded fools find ourselves queuing haphazardly around the couch area in the centre, playing with scrap paper and trying not to lose our minds as we count the seconds to our due dates. You can kind of call ahead and book, but that will only make it quicker once you are actually being served. There hours of operation are good, opening at 10am on weekends and 8am on weekdays, which could be the best time to go.

Look, the quality is pretty good. Prices reasonable…read more But the 'customer service' is an absolute joke. It's busy, but staff wanders around without a sense of urgency or any acknowledgement of their customers. If options weren't limited, there would be no reason to come here. There doesn't seem to be dedicated counter staff, so catch one if you can! Expect to spend at least an hour here even if there are only a couple people in front of you and you have a small job.

I would give zero stars if I could. I made the Melbourne boutique call the Perth boutique this…read moremorning to make sure the watch advertised on their website was still available before buying it. The Melbourne store got back to me saying that the Perth store was keeping it on hold for some customer who would come to inspect it in the afternoon. Since no deposit was handed in, and since the website was still showing the watch as available, I purchased it online. The payment went through, I receive an order confirmation email and the website reported the watch to be SOLD OUT just after my purchase. All good, then? Not really. Five hours later, I find out my payment got refunded without even a courtesy call from anyone. I called the main office and I was shocked by the guy on the phone (guys, you really need to understand what proper customer service is), who didn't even apologize ONCE for what happened and didn't even offered me a possible solution to fix the problem. Since they had an identical watch available on the website (just with the steel band as opposed to the leather band), I proposed to buy that one (regardless of the fact that was more expensive) with the condition that they would offer me the same discount they applied on the one I bought earlier in the morning. They refused once again showing an unbearable carelessness  towards a problem THEY have created and a snobbish attitude that was really the icing on the cake. All I did was purchasing a watch from their website. And now I have no watch, no apologies, no valid alternative even offered. You tell me if this can even happen in a store that picture itself as a "fine retailer".

As with seemingly all of the fine jewelry storefronts along that part of Collins Street, Hardy Brothers' display cases shone beautifully with sparkling (and expensive) baubles and trinkets. Julianne Brewer, our comely customer sales agent (who, to me, bore a semblance to Nicole Kidman!), was (bar none) such a terrific person to deal with. She took the time to show us what we needed, answered all our questions, and made us feel like "friends," rather than customers. If there's anyone who I'd want to give my business to, it would be to Ms Brewer! She is as good as it gets...!!! (Alas, it's such a pity that Tiffany & Co. is just down the street....)
