DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AND DEFINITELY DONT EVER LET THEM TAKE YOUR APPLIANCE TO THEIR WORKSHOP…read more This whole fiasco started on the 28th April when my Leibherr fridge started alarming. It took 6 weeks/42 days to get my fridge freezer back from Nationwide Appliance Repairs (NWAR). Despite all this time, it was returned 10/6/25 MY FRIDGE STILL DOESN'T WORK. The callout charge was $220, and I was convinced by the repairman Adam to let him take the fridge freezer to the workshop as it would be cheaper and faster and would take about 2weeks. I was told that they would diagnose the problem and let me know what was wrong and the cost for repairs prior to the commencement of the works. I agreed to the fridge being taken to the workshop. For the next 2 weeks I called 7 times- each time I was told the fridge freezer was in the Workshop, but no one could give me an update as to what was wrong or how much it would cost to repair. Finally, on the 8th May , I insisted on speaking to a supervisor - spoke to William who gave me a verbal quote of $2278, said he would send written quote. I wrote to William on the 9th May refusing the repairs and asked for the return of my fridge. The nightmare began. William sent me an email trying to convince me to have the repairs completed and offered a small discount. Despite my refusal, they refused to return my fridge someone called Jordan took over my job-- He informed me that without the repairs the fridge would have power but neither fridge or freezer would work. Jordan then went on to say that they had removed the "gas" and the fridge needed to be "regassed "I said I had never approved of any the works. Jordan then said NWAR would give us a discount if we agreed to the repairs- Jordan sent a new quote for $948+GST. We emailed Jordan/NWAR refusing the works and identifying the following Consumer Codes ( as per Consumer Affairs Victoria -CAV) that NWAR had breached thus far: Section 60 - Due care and skill: Section 52 - Rights to possession: Section 18 - Misleading or deceptive conduct On the 15th May I got a call from "Pro de Alwis"- Operations Manager who came across as willing to help me but claimed that he hadnt read my numerous emails and didn't know about what was happening but wanted to improve my "customer" experience. Asked me to send him all the emails so that he could investigate- that should have been a red flag- which Operations Manager calls a client without finding out the facts first. Then on the 16th May- Pro De Alwis calls allegedly me with "Good News", I soon realize that it is another ploy to get me to pay for repairs - now the sum was $400. I told Pro De Alwis, I did not want to speak to him but wanted everything in writing. Pro is now claiming that they had been willing to do the repairs for free as a sign of their goodwill- it is amazing how Pro De Alwis has managed to change the facts to try and suit his narrative. My CAV Caseworker has also provided me with all the information / also assisted me in the steps to take the matter to VTAC. To add insult to injury- the "Head Technician " Marsh who delivered my fridge on the 10/6/25 said that there was nothing wrong with the refigerrant- the only problem my fridge had was to do with the defrost heater and the power board in the fridge, also stated that the repairs could have been completed in my house and never had to go to the workshop- . Marsh asked how he could help me- I said- fix my fridge as your company promised and not charge me as implied by Pro De Alwis, who claimed that he had offered to fix the fridge for free as a goodwill gesture- but I had said no.!!!! I would like to appeal to Mr. Ben Mamudov, Managing Director of NWAR, Victoria to please help me review this matter. What NWAR has done over these 42 days have been examples of poor business practice, total disregard of Consumer laws and rights and totally un-Australian in the way they coerced, bullied and forced me to bargain for the return of my own property
