Delayed procedure due to weather resulted in Groundworks rep saying they were cancelling at the last minute because they had underbid the project and no recourse . A really chickenshit organization! read more

We hired them to do some foundation leveling and raising. They made a lot of promises that could not be kept once the actual crew came to do the work. Instead of telling us at the time, they did "what that could" and expected that to be sufficient. They would not adjust pricing to match the level of work completed or come back out to try to make it right and left us with several repairs to make. read more

I hired groundwork's / Bq basements to level a concrete slab about 8 1/2 x 3 feet. they were paid in full and 3 years later it dropped again. now the want 1200. to fix it again. Crawl space encapsulation: Roger, the job foreman, and his crew were thoroughly professional. They listened to my needs, and the crawl space looks beautiful now. I'm very happy with the results. A bit pricey, but excellent results. read more

Great company. Does really good work and very great communication. Groundworks will get the job done right the first time.

I had Groundworks come out for two services: 1) Crawlspace Encapsulation - This was done over two days in which they also installed a new sump pump and insulation. The work was performed by Sam L. and Tyler who did an amazing job. Super friendly and were able to answer all of questions. The crawl space turned from a dingy, dirty area, to now a safe, clean environment under the house. Definitely exceeded my expectations. 2) Concrete lifting - This was done in less than a day. The work performed lifted areas of my driveway and also the front porch was sinking. Tyler M. and Warren (who also goes by Denzel Washington) also sealed all of the concrete joints on the driveway and front porch. This actually turned out better than expected, it looks so professional and all the concrete is level! Definitely exceeded my expectations. Last, but certainly not least, a shout out to the Certified Field Inspector, Xavier S. who spent a lot of time with me, to fine tune the work to be performed and was knowledgeable about everything. No sales pitch - just a genuine, informational approach which ultimately turned out great! Thanks to everyone. read more

WARNING: I wish I could give this company ZERO STARS. The Colorado Springs crew from Groundworks started working on our home's foundation on April 3, 2023. After the crew started work, the structural engineer stated they would need to put in more beams than originally planned, so the project took longer and costed several thousand dollars more than the original contract. The work on the foundation finished in mid-April (definitely on or before April 18th - I have photos from that date). There were many issues upon looking at the finished product. First, the cement poured in the garage is uneven, a different color, and a different texture than the other concrete on the garage floor. It looks like a tacky patchwork job. One of the main concerns is cracks that appeared within days of the new concrete drying. The company's solution was to put caulking over the cracks. This is concerning because in the winter, water is going to get in the cracks, freeze, and expand them. The garage floor now looks and feels unfinished, but they would not do more than put caulking in the cracks. Secondly, there was a muddy mess made all over the driveway, the back patio, and the streets throughout the neighborhood. The company sent out one person to use the hose to spray off the mud. Well, we had already done that, so not much was done. The muddy mess was understandable to a point, but it was so bad that neighbors called the company to ask if they were going to clean it up. Third, there was a sink hole that formed in front of the front porch. The gentleman who hosed off the driveway, took time to fill in the hole, however, the hole opened up again after this was done. Next, a board on the front of the porch was accidentally hit by the crew when they were installing a beam. The crew said they would have someone out soon to replace the board, but never did. Eventually, I started calling and they reassured me that someone would call or be out soon. It didn't happen. Finally, I emailed the company on May 25, 2023 on behalf of my grandmother because she was frustrated with them and, more importantly, was in and out of the state dealing with a family emergency. I was reassured that someone would be out ASAP to fix the board. It didn't happen. I have records of every time they said someone would be out and they failed to hold up their end of the bargain. The damaged board and the sinking hole were not replaced and filled in until June 8, 2023 after pleading with the company several times to have someone come to fix it. The manager, Darren Clark, was completely unreliable, and the general manager, Jason Schoenberger, cared more about backing up his employee than remedying the situation by having someone out to fix the damage and fill the hole as promised. Quite frankly, I was not sure the damage was ever going to be repaired. The reasons given to explain why it was taking them so long to send someone out to do the job was blamed on unreliable handymen, which as a customer, this is not my issue. It would have been different if the manager and general manager kept their word, and communicated effectively what their plan was. Over the course of about two weeks, I was assured that multiple handymen were coming out on a specific date several times. These dates and times came and went without so much as a call letting me know they were not coming. It is so inconvenient to have waited at the house for several handymen to come, just to have that time totally wasted when they don't show. Their lack of accountability, very little reliability, and poor communication has me questioning the quality of the job done. My confidence in the company is completely gone. I will be telling those that I know that Groundworks and the other companies they run on site are terrible to work with and it is not worth their time or money to work with them. The amount paid for the project does not reflect the quality we received. After reading several other complaints, these seem like common issues. read more

Terrible company. We had some water damage to our basement. Groundwork's did the installation of waterproofing and a sump pump. During installation the crew hit the exterior electrical line to our home. We had to have new company come to repair the line. This was additional 2,000 dollars. After communicating with Darren Clark over numerous emails. He assured me that he would reimburse us for the damage his company had done. We were never reimbursed and have heard nothing from the company. We will also be reporting them to the better business bureau! Please stay away from this company! They are awful and truly do not care about their customers. read more

Highly recommended! Very good and professional company. Customer service oriented, follows up, and honest!

I had an appointment for Groundworks to look at my 16" high landscape retaining wall which was cracking. Sebastian called to let me know that he was running early and would it be okay to arrive early which I saw as thoughtful. He arrived shortly after the phone call and was very pleasant and knowledgeable. My job was very small and Sebastian suggested that my small retaining wall might be better approached by a handy man who could simply rearrange the cinder blocks, replace the stone overlay and add more mortar or grout. I'm glad he was honest and saved me the unnecessary expense. Thanks Sebastian. I would recommend this company due to Sebastian's honesty. read more

They were supposed to come out to our home and fix our garage floor on Tuesday morning. Rob will not return our phone calls and did not even show up. He did not even have our address right even though he came out twice. He sure was quick to request payment though. Terrible way to conduct business. We moved all of your stuff out of the garage and they do not show up. Zero confirmation for a time even the day of. Total scam. Take our money and no decency to show up or call back. Then we call them and they say Rob does not even work there. What a bunch of bullshit. The competence of people at this company is about zero. read more

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY - IT IS A SCAM!!! Nicholas Toledo came to my home, looked me in the eyes, and told me that his company could easily resolve my issue (a sloping deck that needed to be leveled and reinforced). $5000 later IT IS STILL SLOPING. However, now in addition to the sloping - there is a huge gap between the deck and my house, destroyed cracked tile flooring, and a huge gap around the door. They charged so much money and then made the problem worse! Please do not make the same mistake I did - run far and fast from this horrible company! read more

So far, the corporate buyout of Peak Structural, and all of its past warrantees is passing over like a lead balloon filled with strawberry jam. We've been receiving dozens of texts from Basement Systems, talking about service work scheduling. Not once did they identify themselves as a company that my, let alone anyone in my family , have ever done work with before. And, after doing my own detective work, skip-tracing them back to their roots, I find out that the new company, "Groundworks", is only calling me, in order to to set me up on a new "yearly plan", where they come by and "look" at the previous company's handiwork. And, they tell me that they intend upon charging us nearly $300 American for the very privilege of our allowing them to re-check their very actually warranteed work. What a cushy, Millennial business concept. How self-centric, disingenuous and dishonest. Shame on their negligent parents. No, seriously. It is true, I am stuck, working with this company. As they have bought out our warrantee with a company that took the money and ran to Boca. But, I am posting this, as a community service, to warn others away from yet another soulless corporate conglomerate, that will absolutely try to sell you something you already own. Because, it is quite obvious, glaringly apparent, that their teachers failed, almost as spectacularly as their so-called "parents" so clearly have. Despite what their ethanol-poisoned role models may have taught them, money is, in fact, not free. And, they are, in fact, owed nothing. Do yourself a HUGE favor. Call someone with a better customer service, an earned reputation, a trained staff, and an honest, pre-Millennial, non-parasitic business model. This company looks to be a prime example of exactly what is going wrong with America, today. Avoid at all costs. read more

Groundworks - CAUTION Sketchy, corporate conglomerate. Bad business practices. - Waterproofing Near Me - Denver, Colorado

In recent years we had some flooding issues in our basement due to heavy rain storms and had Groundworks put in a sump pump along with an internal drain system. Lee, Rick, and Tanner from the CO springs area installed our system as scheduled in two days. Very professional, explained everything to us, started and ended on time, cleaned up everything well before leaving. We had to problem solve some logistics regarding proper discharge that came up and they were great to work with. Time will tell (no rainstorms yet to put the system to the test) but we were very happy with everything so far. read more

When I called Groundworks, I asked for a second sump pump to be installed in my basement. My home is 5 years old and the floating basement slab on one end of my basement has heaved up a couple of inches and has 1/2" wide cracks. I was told by a forensic engineer that inspected it, it was because of water coming under my foundation and expanding the clay under my basement slab. When Robert from Groundworks came to give me an inspection and quote, he told me that a sump pump was not enough. He said my basement walls showed high humidity and I needed a basement gutter system along with a second sump to capture the water behind the foundation walls. The total cost was about $11K. What he proposed made sense so I agreed to the work. After the installation in January, we had quite a bit of snow and resulting melt. Although my old sump has worked quite a bit, I had no proof the new one was even working because it never turned on. I asked Groundworks to check it, so they sent out a technician (Rohan?). He told me everything was working just fine. I asked why the pump was not pumping and he said because there was no water. I told him I was sold the system when I was told water was building up behind the walls. He expressed a little confusion and told me that system was sold to people that already has water in their basements. I explained that I had NEVER had water in my basement. He suggested I call the company and question them, but he would report my concern to company management. That was a week ago and I have gotten no communication from the company. Since we've already paid for it and the salesman has gotten his commission for selling me an unneeded system, I suspect they really don't care. Just a note to others...don't trust what Groundworks tells you. They are only interested in selling you more than you ask for/need. read more

I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone needing basement waterproofing and concrete lifting! I would give 10 stars if possible!

DON'T HIRE. We hired Groundwork's to do basement waterproofing for an insurance claim. They came promptly to do the estimate, it's when the work crew came the problems started. First they came started work and the Forman left. leaving the remaining 2 workers and only 1 barely could understand English. Couldn't read the estimate plans and drawings. Had to have them remove one section before the concrete hardened so an open drain could be installed of which was on the drawings. Had to have them back to knock out sections to install clean out. I paid the bill when work was completed and now it's going on 8 months trying to get a Lien wavier so I can get my final reimbursement from my mortgage company. Have contacted them 4 times and keep getting the response they have sent the email to the responsible parties. I suggest you hire a different company to do your work. Edited review--- After leaving this review I was able to get a response from them on the lien waiver and they got it back to me within a week. read more

Do not use this company! They did not locate before drilling a pier and destroyed the neighbors sewer line. They took a deposit then charged $5000 after 2 hours of work. DISASTER!! read more

Customer service was over the top until I only went with some of the bells and whistles, which would have cost over $50,000. The job I had completed was much less, and the customer service could have been better. They said with what I had done, they could seal the concrete for an additional cost, but then went back on their word because I didn't have the whole recommended work and couldn't close the cracks in the foundation. Hired another company - they shared that they were "crooks," as the work to support the walls was over the top and could have been repaired for less than 5K. The drywall was cut to install the "rods," not a crack in the walls. Most of the back wall is covered by a rear patio, where no signs of leakage or repair are needed, but Groundworks insisted the entire wall needed the repair. All about the MONEY! Get second and third opinions!!! read more

I usually don't post less than good reviews, but we were disappointed with our experience with Groundworks. Long review, want to explain the context. I will start with what went well -- the crew that put in the piers to stabilize our foundation were friendly, pleasant, efficient and really cleaned up nicely after the job (one could barely tell we had work done). The initial engineering report was satisfactory -- we are going to schedule a follow-up engineering report to assess stability (as is recommended). As for the rest.... We had also contacted Groundworks about some water seepage in our basement. They recommended their inhouse drainage system. When we pointed out we had in wall hot water heating, we were assured several times that it would not be an issue by the sales rep (doubling as a project manager?) and one other company member who came to do a pre-inspection. The day the work was supposed to start, the project foreperson informed us that the way the pipes were running in our basement floor precluded installation of the inhouse system. We are glad they didn't attempt to do what might have been damaging to our heating. However, it would have been nice to know this beforehand, especially since we paid to have the current hot water baseboard radiators (and some of the drywall) removed and capped. We since had them replaced, but it was an unnecessary expense on our end. I will say the company was reasonably prompt in adjusting the contract to deduct for the work that was not completed. Our other major complaint was communication. There were long periods of non-communication with the company between initial contact and project completion. This caused us to miss one deadline for concrete lifting. Other communications were unanswered (about other pre-project inspections), were answered late (always with notes about 'other stuff happening, being in meetings....). I also had to reach out myself a couple of times to inquire about getting a wrap up engineering report as documentation that work was complete, and I am still unclear if we need another city inspection (my emails regarding this question have remained unanswered). For the amount of money projects like this cost, I would expect regular and proactive communications from the company. I am not sure how much of this is due to the Complete Basement Systems/Peak merger with Groundworks, but service/communication were clearly lacking, as well as apparent knowledge from some of the staff. I normally would not post something like this, but it seems the company is heavily advertising right now. Our impression is that the company focus is on sales right now; our actual experience was disappointing. I am hoping the the work we did have done will hold up over time. read more

We were referred by our neighbor which had a cavity under their front porch and some walkway concrete which was sinking. they stated they were impressed by the work so I requested a quote for similar issues. At the time of the initial quote we were told that they would fill the cavity under the front porch where we would have bunnies living and work on the front step which was sinking. We also agreed to the back porch which had a lot of sinking areas and we're advised that they would also remove the old caulking by the house to add new caulking. Day of the work came we did another walk through going over everything that we were advised would happen. After review of the work we immediately contacted the company regarding multiple concerns about the caulking and the void under the front porch. We wet advised that they would schedule another visit under the warranty. Today we had the company out again and were even more concerned about the void after finding that there is still are huge cavity under our front porch. My wife and disappointed in the quality and the overall work for paying almost $5k. I cannot personally recommend this company. read more

Absolutely horrific company who claims to have great costumer services but in reality they lie about their services and are incredibly rude when questioned about it. We were told by the salesman that they guarantee the floor will be level and the foundation solid so that we can get new flooring put in after a flood. Turns out the floor is very much not level after their services, it honestly it worse after they lifted it. After we couldn't get our flooring put in we reached out to understand what happened and we're told "they don't level floors they only lift them". When we explained that's not what our salesman said the manager told us he doesn't care what his salesperson says and we were too dumb to read the contract, which of course is pages long with a ton of legal jargon. I guess we were dumb for trusting this company's word. Absolutely disgusting company and a waste of thousands of dollars. read more

I actually had my crawlspace encapsulated and bought the guarantee back when this company was called Complete Basement. Come for the 2nd annual inspection, Kyler Mitchell, tries to sell more of the new company's services especially an engineering inspection of my foundation. He convinced me saying that even his manager agrees after a brief Facetime around my foundation that it would be in my best interest to get that inspection. Paid $910.52 USD then. That's when it got weird. A few days later, Kyler contacted me saying he messed up the contract and asked me to resign. Then I didn't hear anything for about a month until DL Engineering tried contacting me for an appointment. By then I was transferred out of state, so she tried to tell Groundworks the cancellation. Nothing, no refunds. I tried calling a month later and got the round around. This happened several times until I was told to personally contact Kyler on his new phone. He told me he would take care of it. Nada. I even went as far as filling out a Contact Us with a brief message...still not resolved. read more

I hired this company summer of 2022 to fix some structural issues in my basement. May of 2023 I went down into my basement and I could smell moisture in the air. Almost every single anchor they installed was leaking water!!!! I had a service tech come out and the reason they were leaking is because they forgot to add enough wax around the bolts. Thank goodness I hadn't put walls back up after they finished the two walls but regardless all the padding and carpet got completely wet and the connecting wall that had drywall also got wet. After multiple attempts of trying to contact Groundworks and ask when they were going to fix the damage, nobody would ever return my phone calls. I eventually threaten to write a bad review and finally got ahold of somebody that acted like they cared. He asked for measurements of everything, and then when I sent them to him, he told me that he would rent a carpet cleaner himself and come out to clean my carpets!!! I was so mad! After spending a ton of money with this company and having them cause damage, they were just going to have somebody in the office rent a carpet cleaner? I told him not to take it personally however, that seems very unprofessional, and that a company as large is groundworks should be having this already handled with a professional carpet cleaner, and drywaller coming out to my house to fix their mistake. He said he had to talk to someone and would get back to me and yet here we are weeks later and I haven't heard a word! I would say to find another computer that cares about their customers as you will just be another number if you hire them. I gave them every opportunity to make things right but they really don't care. read more
