I purchased a Groupon Now for a cut and color with Ashleigh about a month ago. She was booked the day the Groupon Now was for, but she honored the price anyway. I booked an appointment with her a week later. I currently had highlights in my hair and she mentioned that the Groupon was only for one solid color, but that I could touch up my highlights for an additional fee. I told her that I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted and she said she would book me for extra time in case I wanted to go with something that took a little longer. I arrived and was greeted pleasantly. She did a great job of listening to what I liked/didn't like about my current style/color. After about 15 mins of dicussion, I decided to get an all over color to get rid of my highlights (I was tired of the upkeep). She matched two colors that when applied matched my natural hair color absolutely perfectly! I was so pleased with how the color came out. A month later, my color looks great, you can't tell that it has been colored because it matches perfectly! I would definitely recommend Ashleigh to anyone who is looking for a new stylist. Really great service!! Ashleigh understood how dry and damaged my hair was and suggested a deep condition, she didn't press it on me or anything which was great but for $15 I figured it was worth it with how bad my hair was. I was given tea while being taken care of and I think they also offer wine along with other beverages. The haircut went fabulous and I love my hair now, so much healthier! Went here to have my roots touched up today. I've lived here for 3 years but always went back to Dallas to get my hair done there because I've been to nervous to trust anyone new here. Well I finally gave in today because I haven't had time to go home & boy was I glad that i did! Ashleigh was AWESOME! First, let me preface this with the face that I'm very, very, very picky about who I let touch my hair. My mom was a stylist for most of my life; and no one does it better than mom. ;) I've bounced around a lot from stylist to stylist most of my life, in search of someone I feel comfortable with. I found Ashleigh while searching for a stylist to do my hair + makeup for my wedding day. She had excellent reviews, pricing was fair, and she was super responsive to all my crazy, bridezilla questions. I then scheduled just a regular cut with her prior to and was even more happy I booked her for my big day. She's super professional, but also super easy to talk to. At the practice run, I showed her a few pictures of what I was kinda looking for. She took those pictures, added some of her magic, and voila! I had the PERFECT hairstyle for my big day. After just a few meetings, she knew kinda what I would like and wouldn't like, and used all that crazy info to compile a hairstyle that reflected who I was. I cannot tell you how many compliments I got on my hair and makeup both after the practice run and on my big day. My photographer even asked for her info. First of all my stylist was an hour and half late. Second I was not informed that the women I personally reserved was not the women doing my makeup, so I knew nothing about this women nor did I see her portfolio. The makeup artist was a sweet girl, but did not have a sufficient knowledge of base correction. Rather than using color correcting concealer to cover my dark circles, she simply caked on more concealer. Only an hour after finishing my eyelashes started to come off; and were completely off by 3 hours, mind you it was not hot or humid nor was I messing with the lashes throughout the night. When looking for a stylist nearby west campus and downtown I came across some good reviews for Ashleigh Grounds. She listens to her clients and also gets what you want quickly. She was fast, but it was one of the best haircuts I had in Austin and I have tried the expensive places, which were okay. I'd recommend Ashleigh for UT students especially. Ashleigh was my hair and makeup stylist for my bridal hair, mother-of-the-bride and bridesmaids' hair and I couldn't have asked for more beautiful, professional work. Not only did everyone feel GORGEOUS and confident for the wedding, but we are all in love with the photos, where everyone is drop dead stunning. Ashleigh was on time, she was helpful and flexible, and she brought a sense of calm to everyone that is so important with an event as stressful as a wedding. She accommodated everyone's individual requests for hair styles and makeup looks. We actually didn't even do a trial because I overslept and missed the apppointment!! The other thing I want to point out is that my mother had a trial with another makeup artist and felt the makeup made her look "old." Ashleigh is awesome! I went in with two pictures and a very vague idea of what I wanted - layers & bangs. I'm very paranoid about going to new stylists because you hear SO many horror stories of people ending up with haircuts they hate and no one to help them. She took her time through the process, walked me through all the layers she put in to see if I was happy with where they were and how many, checked with me about my bang length while wet & dry and was just overall very thorough. My hair is cut in shoulder-length layers. When it is blown dry by the right stylist, my hair has great volume and the layers fall in a nice rhythm. When I flew to Austin from DC for a three-day event, I asked Ashley to do my hair. She did a terrific job, even though we had never met before.
