The vibe here is impeccable. The staff is great and the ingredients are top notch. It isn't just coffee, it is an experience and they are offering a lot of events, which means opportunities for building community and meeting new people in your area - I love that. I went to the Human Design workshop and loved it - highly recommend!! You can tell how much thought, care, and effort is put into this space and I appreciate that. Many moons ago, when I was a wee lass growing up nearby, if you had told me there'd be a cool coffee shop in Red Lion, I would have laughed and laughed and laughed. But fast forward to today: there is! My mom told me about how much she liked Grounding, and they were open on Christmas Day, so I stopped by to check them out. It's located in a renovated old factory attached to a brewery. The inside is very cozy and rustic. There is seating upstairs and downstairs. They had books and games available, as well as free wi-fi. The 2 guys that were working were very friendly, even asking if we enjoyed everything as we were leaving. The light snacks and lattes we got were delicious. I came here after receiving a flyer for a free drip coffee in the mail. I knew a new shop opened nearby but didn't know exactly where it was, it's a bit hard to find from the street and I ended up having to walk down to where it is, didn't notice the parking lot but nothing wrong with a little exercise. The shop itself is interesting. I like the two floors of seating, a few people were on their laptop studying, seems like a chill place. I also like the board games on a shelf on the second floor too. I did find it strange that they ban the use of processed sugars, so if you need to have splenda/stevia/etc in your coffee this isn't the place. I figured I would try agave (which I have never tried in a coffee) along with oat milk. I asked if there was an extra fee for these, they said yes but they were generous enough to waive it and include it with my free coupon which says a lot about their staff, which is made up of some real nice people. The coffee was great and really warmed me up on a chilly morning. Be warned they do not really have much food, they had granola and some type of cookie sourced from local bakery Sugar Rose Bake Shop but that was it. However, I am definitely going back to try their other varieties such as the cappuccino or americano. I highly recommend this new coffee shop for the ambiance, customer service and superb coffee. read more

Coolest coffee shop in Red Lion, great atmosphere all around with 2 stories, lots of seating, and a zen den to unwind from the madness. They have cool events planned like game nights, etc. the service is quick, they are extremely polite, willing to help you with coffee selection, and make it to perfection. Overall a hidden gem in red lion. If your a coffee person do not sleep on grounding coffee... it's legit. Looking forward to having plenty of coffee from here. read more

Just what Southern York County needed, revitalization! Shop is located in area where old warehouses are being reutilized, turning into places to live and shop. Grounding establishment is stunning. Staff was friendly and busy. We ordered a iced molasses macadamia macchiato, hot honey latte, banana and berries smoothie and a date bar. No processed sugars, only natural sweetners used in drinks and baked goods. Drinks were delicious, lots of flavor. The date bar was yummy-fresh, unique flavor. We enjoyed our time there. Little too pretentious even for a coffee shop. They don't allow artificial sweeteners because it distracts from The coffee experience and isn't natural. This is Red Line not DC. The choices are also very limiting unfortunately. The location and atmosphere however are outstanding very cool renovation. Wow! Right next to the Red Lion Mile (walking/biking path) is a very attractive coffee cafe. Many large windows. Brinwalls. Plenty of seating, including the second floor. The building was an old boiler room. Beautiful. Tasteful. And by the way, great coffee. read more

Really neat place tucked back off the street somewhat. Beautifully redone old factory boiler room. There are two levels. Coffee bar area with attached "breezeway" seating that has doors on both sides that can be opened or closed as determined by weather and an upstairs that has large windows where you can sit, relax and look outside or use the free wi-fi and work on your computer. The coffee is very good and they use no artificial or processed sugars. I like to have cinnamon in mine which lends to a hint of sweetness. A nice but small selection of muffins/scones. I had a blueberry which was delicious. Coffee is a little expensive, but what I particularly love is if you are drinking your coffee there, they serve it in a hand thrown pottery coffee cup (I have a love of hand made pottery cups, so this speaks to me) and I feel it adds to the enjoyment. It's definitely a "treat myself" place that I will return to again! read more

Grounding is the place to get a great cup of coffee, great sense of community, or a place to sit and work. The facility is gorgeous with huge windows that bring in natural light and breathtaking views. It has comfortable seating and space to use your lap top with a lot of outlets, space to engage in conversation, and space to play board games. The coffee is top notch and the owner will gladly do a "barista's choice." The philosophy of the business is to create naturally good drinks that aren't drenched in sugar, so if you are expecting a cup full of syrup, whipped cream, and sprinkles, you may be disappointed. Until you taste the coffee, that is. Good quality and creative use of more nuanced sweeteners (honey, molasses, etc...) make it a fantastic and unique taste experience. You can still get a plain cup of joe, but I personally recommend a latte. They also have tea, smoothies, and acai bowls and some baked goods. So far I've only had the coffee and one scone so I can't review the other products, but everyone I know who has had them has loved them. The only two considerations: 1) parking is awkward, but still manageable. You have to turn into the parking lot for the apartments (where Red Cap Brewery is opening soon) and go around and behind the building to park. 2) If you are mobility challenged there is seating on the first floor, but you'll miss out on the most fantastic views from upstairs.
