Grotberg Electric was by far the most professional -- and their quote was the most reasonably priced -- of all the companies that provided us estimates for the installation of a standby generator for our residence. All of their work was accomplished on time, and their representative was very responsive to our questions and concerns. An added bonus: the final price even came in well under the original quote. The installation was done professionally and expeditiously, with Jerry and his team (the electricians who did the install for the 14KW generator) staying after the installation was complete to make us familiar with the new generator and its owner interface, including the wi-fi setup. One of the most important things that set Grotberg apart from other companies from which we received quotes was the fact that Grotberg was the only one that sent a real electrician, Mike Koch, who understood the customer's needs in developing the installation plan and quote. I became aware of Grotberg Electric in March of 2024, I needed a standby generator. I called several dealers in the North Idaho area and was shocked at the outrageous prices, BS and the lies many of them told me! When Mike Koch, the manager of the local Grotberg Electric branch arrived, we talked about what I wanted done, he was very honest and direct, NO BS with Mike, a very straight shooter! His main concern was his crew, Mike wanted to keep his guys working. That says a lot about Mike and his character, as he was very concerned about his guys! WOW! What a GREAT experience! Met with Mike at my home to go over the project...the day after I called. I had called two other service providers. One I never heard from and the other took about a week to get back to me for scheduling. Kinda funny because the job was done at that point. Anyway, project scope was discussed and set up on the schedule. A crew of three guys came out to do the job (replacing a glitching genset), and knocked it out in half a day. Only thing we couldn't get to was the remote monitoring (I had the ethernet line run but no end connectors). Two of the crew were out the next day and finished it up...everything tested and working perfectly. They cleaned everything up after they were done and things look great. They were the most organized, efficient crew I've seen in quote a while.
