    Groove Records!
    John M.

Although originally born in Oakland and from the Bay, this is the first time I've ever stepped into Groove Yard. This is a jazz record collector's heaven. Wonderful selection of titles. Mainly older stuff, but you'll find new pressings mixed in. You'll flip from a $5 record, to a $500, back down to a $30 in a row. It's organized chaos and I love it. A true OG record digging experience. Rick is a great guy, easy to talk to and more knowledgeable than you. I can't give his spot enough praise. Kid in a candy store!

So nice! :) I bookmarked this spot to visit since it was my boyfriend's 1st visit in Berkeley, and I thought this was a cool store to check out. We did have to check in his backpack at the entrance of the store, which is no issue. They have lots of selection of music, and my bf found a vinyl that he has been looking for a long time - The Big Lebowski one. He was so happy! This is definitely a good spot to check out if you're into music and especially if you want to get vinyls and cds. They also have some cool lunch boxes and posters as well plus other interesting items. Parking in Berkeley can be tough though. We drive around for about 18 minutes before we finally found a spot to park.

Picked up Damian Marley's stony hill (7) for a cd that's a good price, will be more rare through the years. Also picked up Nelson Ned for the same price but in vinyl. Now ask people about famous Brazilian singers in Spanish he's top of that list, good price for refined ears. 5/5 great store

I immediately took the record back to the store thinking it would be an easy replace or refund, think again. The customer service gentleman was rude, confrontational, and accusatory from the start, looking over the record telling me it looks brand new. "Yes I bought it less than 7 days ago, here's the receipt, it is brand new and is skipping. I told him exactly what song it was skipping on and he told they have no way to listen to records and all he could do was a partial refund... An enormous record store with no record player, ha ha ha. Then the condescending gentleman decided to accuse me of possibly having a cheap record player and that was the cause of the skipping... I gladly showed him the receipt of my recent purchased turntable, I guess it passed the Rasputin turntable tier that is acceptable... So basically if you don't have a certain tier turntable Rasputin will blame you and your record, not a manufacturer defect. Lastly, the gentlemen called me "dude" multiple times, while his coworker was smirking and laughing duing the exchange at the register. Overall a very disappointing experience from a place that I spend hours in, but never again. There are tons more record stores in the Bay Area to support rather than Rasputin... Keep spinning

I actually found rare copies of two different jazz albums on CD that I love (still sealed even though I didn't need to buy them) so that says a lot to me. Also, I noticed that they're products are overall pretty reasonably priced. I don't care for Vinyl, but I noticed they have a big section for that that in there too. They even sell live music performances DVD's that might interest you even if you're into Rock mostly (which is not the highlight of this store). I walked out with a brand-new copy of Kenny Burrell's Midnight Blue for a friend, and I am grateful for the owners allowing me to browse in peace. Would definitely come back again.

The Sonus Faber speakers that I selected needed new grill material. My wife was kind enough to contact the SF location and she was told that Sonus Faber would be happy to send new grills at no charge. SF contacted Graham and guess what? After seven months nothing.
