My experience with Groome shuttle to Atlanta airport and back. 1. On 10/3/15, paid on the website in the morning for shuttle leaving at 11AM. Received 2 emails pending- confirmed. Groome office called me at 10-45 AM asking if I am still riding with them. I said yes and told that I am on my way and be there in 8 mins. At 10-55AM had to intercept the shuttle(van) just before it hit the road. Asked the driver how they could leave earlier than departure time. The driver, a woman by the name Kim flatly said " No, we are not leaving early". I pulled my phone out and showed her the time 10-55AM. I had a paid reservation and confirmed on telephone. She drives to Hampton Inn and parks there until 15 minutes past departure time waiting for some one who went to the wrong hotel to come. When I point out that it is past scheduled time and I may miss my flight, she asks me to calm down and assures that I will not miss my flight ! She drove much above the speed limit to make up for the time and reached on time ! I called Groome office and spoke to a lady who informs that this behavior is nothing surprising from Kim and apologized. 2. On my return, I booked return shuttle leaving Atlanta airport at 4-15 PM. When I went to the designated area, I could not find the shuttle until 4-15PM. I was enquiring from the Groome drivers from other areas if I was at the wrong place. I called the Groome office at 4-15PM and was told by Robert that the driver was new and left earlier ! He was apologetic and booked me on 5-45 PM shuttle. I waited their 1hr 45 mins, more than my flying time from DC. I could have been home. These are my comments: 1. It is obvious that they did not care. There does not seem to be any respect for timings or the customers. Seems to be "take it or leave it" ! 2. We miss Express 85. I have used their transportation many times in the last 15 years I have been here. In spite of the negative reviews, in the last couple of years Groome has been monopolizing this market after giving Express 85 the run, I did not get negative feed back from visitors to my house. The reviews and my experience today indicates that there is a callous disregard to the customer in auburn area. I have interacted with many drivers from other areas during my 1 hr 45 min wait. They were all nice and courteous. So is the driver Steven with home I rode this PM. 3. Persons like Kim should be given the necessary social skills to deal with customers. She leaves without a paid customer and makes everyone wait for another. Discrimination or attitude? 4. It is not an excuse that a driver is new and hence can leave 15 mins or more before published timings. Does not Groome train its employees ? In future, it probably will make sense to me to drive myself rather than support Groome. I sincerely appreciate the other good people I interacted with other than above. read more

This is a terribly run company. With myself personally, they have driven me to tears yelling at me to find there bus when I was lost and looking for it at the airport about how they need to stay on schedule. Another time using this company, I missed my flight because of them. I showed up to the correct place at the correct time and they out me onto the incorrect bus, which got to the airport over 2 hours later, with no one telling me that it was the incorrect bus. Before I even got on that bus I repeatedly asked if it was the bus that I was supposed to be on, saying the times for my bus, and them not listening to me, causing me to be put on the incorrect bus. As well as it being the wrong bus, the driver was running over 45 minutes late causing several other people on the bus to miss their flights as well. The driver never apologized and said none this was his fault and that it was our fault and our communication with the office. The office was also not taking blame and was refusing to give a refund to anyone, as well as being unprofessional and having little knowledge about the shuttle service. I recommend to never use this company because they are hypocritical and don't take responsibility when they do mess up. Not apologizing for making multiple people missing their flights when those people do everything correct and are in the correct places at the correct time is rude and disrespectful to anyone, especially with a large company like this. read more

Showed up at 10:15 for 10:15 shuttle and it had already departed. Called in and was told it was there but then story changed that it had already departed. Many l people waiting for other shuttles indicated that it had left several minutes early. Stuck in Atlanta for who knows how long. First time and last time I'll ever use this service. Look elsewhere. read more

Disaster on the way there (someone missed the first shuttle, so the rest of the shuttle had to wait 30+ minutes, causing several people to miss their flights. Then, on the way back, the van (not a shuttle this time, and a very uncomfortable ride for 2 hours) had been so overbooked that several people had to be left behind to wait for the next shuttle. I loved 85 Express and used it often, but this business actually makes things LESS convenient than just driving myself. Never again. read more

Horrible service and unresponsive, poor customer relations. My daughter had a 3:40 pick up at Auburn U. Shuttle didn't arrive until 4:05 and she was told it was full and to wait for next one coming. That one arrived at 4;15 and didn't leave Auburn until 4:25. Still had to stop at other pickup locations, where no one got on. About 30 mins en route to Atlanta, the bus broke down on I 85. Driver had to be told to put on flashers by passengers. After about 35 mins another bus came to get passengers. Traveling further north on I 85 they had to pickup the driver from another shuttle that broke down. My daughter did not make her flight and we spend nearly $400 more to get her on a different airline to get home. As if the above isn't enough, I called numerous times as the above was unfolding. Each time the gentleman refused to address my concerns and kept telling me it would be fine. He tried to assure me the shuttle would arrive at the airport on time because they travel over the speed limit. When we called about the broken down shuttle, he told us if she didn't make the flight, they would just deal with those "ramifications"as they occurred. He mentioned several times that his phone was ringing off the hook with parents calling to complain. I wonder why! The Groome website looks great and the booking process was easy BUT it is downhill from there. I will not use them again and would not recommend them. Their website boosts that they have the safest, most reliable fleet on the road, With 2 buses broken down on one afternoon, I doubt that. read more

I have used Groome to Atlanta many times. Never had a problem. they tell you to be 10 minutes early. I am and never got left. I prefer getting an earlier start when possible. Drivers have been friendly and helpful. I would not want to sit in the back of the van but have never been asked to do so. read more

My Groome Experience was absolutely atrocious. First the shuttle from the airport showed up a full hour late, the driver then drove like an absolute maniac. On my return trip the charged me extra to pick me up at my girlfriends apartment, I waited outside ten minutes before they told me they were going to pick me up. When they didn't show up I called the office and the extremely rude lady there, told me that the driver had already been there and left and then proceeded to hang up on me, we had to race to beat the shuttle to its last stop. I dealt with a lot of anxiety and frustration taking a Groome shuttle from the Atlanta airport to Auburn and vice-a-versa. Your pick up time from Auburn is usually 45 minutes after the scheduled pick up time. Definitely recommend calling ahead of time to confirm time and location of pickup in Auburn. Reactive, disconnected communications between their offices and drivers, and an utter lack of dedication to organization and service. I hope someone else enters the Atlanta-Auburn shuttle market, and soon! read more

I have used Groome to/from the airport at least 10 times. They have been on time most every trip, except once they were about 15 minutes late leaving ATL. The drivers and service has been fine. My only compliant is that the vans are uncomfortable when there's more than 4 people. I don't think that Groome understands the college/frequent rider concept. read more

Not reliable. Booked my ride the day before. Talked with them as I boarded my flight. They still left early and then denied it, but I was standing outside before the departure time. Disappointing service. read more

Horrible. Can not rely on this service. I would give zero stars if I could. Got to my pickup spot ten minutes early, and the shuttle never came. When I was finally able to reach someone on the phone, the operator claimed the driver had picked up two people at my spot at the designated time, which is just frankly a lie. read more

The most unorganized company that also happens to be quite heartless. My daughters flight coming home from college break was delayed...she was going to be five minutes late for the shuttle. I called and was told "sorry mam we cannot wait when we have 62 people on the shuttle"...can't wait a whole five minutes?! Then I was told my daughter could be on the next shuttle...was GUARANTEED a spot. Next shuttle comes and now I am being told by my daughter they may not have a spot. I call back yet again and the woman puts me on hold and states she was "misinformed"...they will have to see if they can find a spot. Seriously?! Had they waited FIVE minutes this wouldn't be an issue. And apparently there were other kids in the same boat. Finally I get a message from my daughter that she got on the shuttle...the only reason I gave two stars. Staff not helpful on the phone or at the airport. Heartless staff does not sit well with me. Excellent service and military friendly. My son missed his original shuttle (plane arrived an hour thereafter); but Groome Transportation stepped in, went above and beyond to make sure my son made it back to school safely. As an active duty military family stationed about 4000 miles away from him, it meant the world that they took it upon themselves to ensure my son got home. I am forever grateful. Also, their reputation amongst everyone I know is an excellent one (on time, friendly, and professional). This is a transportation service that cares for and about their customers. read more

Our family has used this service many times. The last time my husband was picked up at the airport, the shuttle was 1 1/2 hours late. Today, the shuttle came early loaded who was there, and left about 10 mins early before my husband and 2 others got there! Left when they had reservations and were at pick up between 5-10 mins before due to leave! Save yourself the frustration and find another means of transportation! read more
