We made the trek out here, and they were super friendly and happy to take her shredder. And it's FREE. They accept a long list of electronics which I've attached a picture of. They will shred documents if you need it, but you'll have to pay for that. They also accept your typical recycled paper and aluminum goods. Keep in mind they're only open M-F 9a-330p.

Then a big man with a beard come up and started rudely chastising me for pulling inside (an honest mistake on my part). He then asked what I need. After all that chastising I told him I needed nothing. He then told me I shouldn't be upset because I was the one that did something wrong. I started pulling out and he mentioned a price of 60 cents a pound. I don't care if it's 60 dollars a pound. I WILL NOT be talked to like that and I will never be back. I will take my cans elsewhere. The recycling process is easy: - head into the office - they'll open the garage door for you to drive in to unload your goods - place the item(s) on the scale - pay per pound for what you're getting rid of (if it's not one of the many, many free items) TVs are 35 cents per pound; the total came out to $14. It was a bit more than recycling through the city ($10 flat fee) but significantly cheaper than Best Buy ($25 flat fee). Also, the woman who helped us said they recycle in the US - the items are not getting shipped off as trash and pollutants to other countries. There's no appointment necessary for drop-offs, and they also offer a pickup service. In the office they have several refurbished computer monitors and laptops for sale at a deep discount compared to retail; if you're in the market for these items it's probably not a bad idea to check them out if you're flexible in what you need. Super nice people and you can dispose of your things in a way that is as environmentally friendly as possible.
