The cost was $400, when I called on the phone they said costs usually started at $200, but this was fine by me because I believe he had to replace a part and do a bit more work to get the fireplace to work. They do take credit cards and there are no fees to use one, also. Based on this experience I would absolutely use Ace Fireplace again if I was having fireplace issues.

Rick and Kalen did a very professional job removing the old caulk and applying the new caulk ensuring no voids or gaps where further water damage could occur. Additionally, there was an area not visible from ground level above two of the windows that also needed to be fixed but was not initially quoted which they agreed to do at no additional charge. The journey and process to get to agreement, then completion, painful too often. And completion of details difficult. Thus a C+, B- rating. I wish that I had all good things to say and writing this critique was unnecessary. Some of several aggravations. The roof was completed in a day by many Mexican immigrants. Project included installing roof vents. The vent tubes were not attached at the fans -- Despite assurances from the supervisor that it was definitely done. NO THEY WERE NOT. Thus required request and debate with the company for follow-up. Their service man came and said he completed. NO THEY WERE NOT. A year later, condensation formed on the ceiling. Requiring repeat call, visit. We received assurances that the third time they were now properly connected. This is the most basic of very important work. I do not understand. Not difficult to do - for someone with reasonable skills and honest effort. The siding took 3 months. The workers tried to complete a lot of work on the final day. They left the porch filthy and muddy. Final Hardie plank trim that was not properly painted by Hardie. Not done by McGlinch. Requiring me to paint. They did not properly reinstall flood lights. The contract agreement required increasing soffit ventilation. Despite following up 5 times, to my verification, completion unverified. Disappointing. It can be a challenging world. Our hope was a fourth generation company would have made things far easier and that we were in good hands, we could have relied on them and they were looking out for us. Their own quality assurance. Is that too much to ask.

When Mike and Lee saw the condition of the roof boards after removing the shingles they switched to "peel and stick" roll roofing. This caused extra work and expense for them because other materials had already been delivered, but they wanted to make sure my roof was done the right way. The roof looks great! Steve, Dino and his crew did a great job on the porch and the sump pump. The porch looks so much better now that it is level and the cracks are filled in. The water does not all run towards the house and into the crawl space. I really appreciate the extra effort to get the sump pump deeper. The only access was a small opening inside a bedroom closet. I know how much more difficult it made the work because they had to dig in a small confined area and they were digging into wet clay. It is so much nicer and safer with the discharge pipe relocated to the other side of the house instead of running across in front the gate. Now I can simply go into the closet to start the pump. I used to have to go outside and bring a hose in through a window before pumping water out of the crawl space. Everyone was so friendly, polite and professional. This is a great company to deal with and the work was excellent!! I will definitely call them again and will recommend them to everyone I know.

Better yet have an attorney look at the contract. I was negligent and naive and deeply regret it. Rock Solid owns you once you sign the contract and the 48 hours cancellation option passes. Fact - if you want to terminate the contract, whether they have started the job or not, you will be required to pay one third of the contract price. They will also want you to sign a non-disclosure so that you will not be able to say anything disparaging about their company. Luckily I was able to get this clause voided. How many others have been silenced. Thinking of taking legal action, you agree to pay all of their legal fees when you sign the contract. At $500.00 an hour and up, even if you win, you will lose financially. There is a list of excuses for not doing the job in a timely manner, and they are not afraid to use them. There are a multitude of excuses on the back of the contract for not doing the work and they used many of them on my job. Our contract did not show a completion date, which means they can string you out indefinitely and you have no recourse. I paid my one third termination fee and went with another contractor. Buyer Beware.
