Double D's All The Way!! These tacos are something so incredibly unique! I have been eating them consistently for over 5 years now and they never get old. Can't recommend this place and this specific taco enough!

Empanadas

Good food, and good service. The food is a little pricey but I would recommend if you are in the area.

Love Gringos and the food they serve! The Double D's are the best taco on the menu hands down as you get a soft taco sandwiched between a hard taco with some delicious cheese as the go between. The staff is always hustling and getting food out as quickly as possible.

We have always enjoyed this location! The perfect spot for a late night snack or afternoon lunch. The pricing is fair and the portions are good! We noticed more recently that this location now has screens where you can order, which makes ordering a lot easier!! The only downside is parking, but that's with any restaurant downtown. It's not terrible but also not free or easy. We definitely will be back in the future!

We came here for dinner honestly because it was one of the few places still open and offering a quick bite. You order from the screens directly below the menu and it was quite easy. Afterwards, you pay the employee and then they call your order when ready. All pretty straightforward. For whatever reason, I ordered the lean green burrito and then received the order with the tag Ok Jorge (a different burrito option on the menu). When we asked the employee why we received the wrong burrito we were told they just ran out of labels for the lean green burrito and they used the Ok Jorge since they are the same burrito. The burrito was definitely not what I ordered, nor were the two options on the menu the same. Besides all that, I was just bewildered why they would use a wrong label at all, if they were out of another label. They are literally handwritten. Just don't use a label or write another one? Overall whichever burrito I did end up with was not good but it was okay. Just really dry and had random beans in certain bites (didn't order it with beans lol). My husband's burrito order turned out perfect and he enjoyed his burrito enough. Definitely wouldn't come back but if you are hungry and in a pinch I understand coming here. Plenty of seating inside too.

I stopped in to Gringos Locos for a quick bite after seeing a concert at the Beacham in downtown Orlando back in October 2023. I have to give this place credit because there were a ton of people at this concert and a bunch of them came here for a meal after the show which ended around 11pm on a Monday night. Basically, you decide what you want to order, place your order via a touch screen kiosk at the main counter, pick a seat (if you can find one), when a staff member calls out your name, return to the counter to pick up your meal. I ordered the Drunk Gringo ($15), which is a burrito stuffed with rice, all proteins, beans, Queso, and Salsa Verde. Overall, the burrito was excellent; however, not nearly as large as I expected for $15, but what can I say, I was hangry and needed something before heading home. My brother-in-law ordered the Drunk Nachos. I have no idea what he paid for them, but his portion size was enormous, leaving him with some leftovers. He said his meal was good too. Although my burrito was a bit on the pricy side, I would return here if I am at a future event near this store.

Late night eats for the win!!! This spot will hit the spot if you're in the area. The double d's are very unique and I recommend. It's a taco in both a hard and soft shell. Mixing the textures of both shell's took this taco to new heights! And the fillings were fresh; the meat, cheese and veggies! I got a side of chips and queso and it did not disappoint. Try this next time you're downtown. The only down side is I had a coupon from Yelp and they did not honor it :(

Gringos Locos is a taco restaurant that is local to the Central FL area. This has been a staple to the Orlando community for many years. They serve quick and easy tacos that are very flavorful. This particular location is in a central location to the Downtown area. If you find yourself looking for a quick late night bite after some drinks this is the perfect spot. Their Double D tacos are a fan favorite and never seem to disappoint. The bottom line, if you're looking for something quick and easy while still reasonably priced and flavorful this is the spot.

2 fish tacos - 12 dollars. Too small and not worth the price.

After a fun corporate 5k race in Lake Eola, we were looking for a quick bite to eat that wouldn't take too long to wait. One of my colleagues suggested Grincos Locos, which was a short walk from that park. We walked over there and were greeted by a small line. Ordering was done through a kiosk, so I ordered the fish tacos (12 dollars). I paid using my phone and waited for my order. It was a bit crowded from the race, but my colleagues were able to find a small table. After about 10 minutes, my name was called. I picked up the tacos and sat with my colleagues at the small table. When I opened the carton, I saw two small fish tacos. I tried to wrap them, but the ingredients fell apart a bit. The fish was fine and had some lettuce and tomato for the vegetables, but it was missing salsa or sauce. Thus, I found them a bit bland. When I asked for hot sauce, I was given two. I believe that sauce was habanero as it did add some fire and make me sweat. Even though it was spicy, I did enjoy it. I ate both tacos and they were alright, but I didn't feel full after eating both. The service was basic, but friendly enough. You ordered through the computer, and they call your name, then hand you the food. They were polite when calling the names and helpful when any requests were given. But this was a counter service restaurant, and you had to empty the items yourself when you were done. The seating was limited, so it was a bit difficult to find a table, especially during a crowded event. The crowd wasn't too loud and typical gringo music was in the background. Grincos locos have decent tacos, but after 12 dollars for two small fish tacos in a counter service restaurant, I felt it wasn't worth it. When I could go to table service restaurants like Bartaco for better flavor, or Barrio for a bigger portion at even lower prices, I just thought Grincos didn't make the cut. Even the kiosk asked if I wanted to add a tip (because of the tipping culture?). I am giving it a three out of five because the tacos were still alright, but there are better places for tacos at a cheaper price.

Although a little different in decor, every Chuy's has the hand painted swimming fish, the hubcap ceiling, and the shrine to Elvis which was a fixture of the original store. I had a great first Chuy's experience with my girlfriend Holly in Pembroke Pines. On a recent trip to visit my daughter in Winter Park we passed Chuy's in Lakeside Crossing and remembering how much I liked it, I suggested we dine here for dinner. In addition to the multiple dining rooms, they also have outside patio seating. We were seated in my favorite room, the dog one. If you bring in a picture of your pup you can get a free appetizer so the walls are covered with pictures of people's dogs. This room also worked out best for us because it had two TV's and we could watch the Super Bowl. We started off with their complimentary chips that come with a spicy salsa fresca and a Chuy's signature item, creamy jalapeño dressing. It started out as a dressing and it is now a dip with a following. You can even purchase it to take home with you. Two dips can never be enough so we also ordered the queso that is a beloved menu item for good reason. The menu has a number of Tex-Mex favorites like burritos, tacos, and fajitas. Chuy's is especially known for their large portions. They also make all of their own tortillas and sauces. You can customize how spicy you want your food by pepper choice and sauce. I ordered my favorite steak burrito with double rice, no beans. I replaced the spicy hatch chili sauce with the creamy deluxe tomatillo recommended by our server. It was chef's kiss. My daughter and her boyfriend said they really liked their food too and with the large portion size, ended up having leftovers to take home with them. I love the quirky decor, value, and tasty food. We were in the mood for filling meal with a casual vibe and Chuy's hit the spot.

I had my thoughts on the frozen raspberry margarita that I had the time before that was so delicious but unfortunately they did not have that flavor this time. I got the strawberry and lime frozen margaritas swirled together with a sugar rim. The margarita was pretty good. I'd give it 3 out of 5 stars. For an entree, I ordered the chicken flautas. This comes with rice and refried beans. When served, the entree came with 6 flautas which to me seemed like a decent portion. I was very disappointed though because there was barely any meat inside each one and I swear there was no cheese. Which cheese makes the dish. They were extremely dry and I only ate like 2. The rice and beans made up for the dish. I appreciate the salsa and chips that get brought out to each table.

The pros are the sauces. Chips come with a creamy tomatillo sauce that is amazing. Honestly, this sauce is the reason I know this restaurant. There is also a salsa with the right amount of kick to it. Even the creamy green chili sauce was a hit. The sauces are what makes it for me here. But there are cons. The menu is very limited both in options and in proteins. Most items come either chicken or ground beef. That's Taco Bell options! The menu is simply a two sided laminated sheet. The chicken enchilada I had was made good by the sauce. The chicken was bland. The rellano I had seemed over cooked and lacking in cheese. Again, I was scraping sauce to add to the rellano. Honestly, I would recommend for sitting at the bar and eating chips and dips and drinking margaritas more so than for a great Mexican meal.

Disclaimer: this review is for the lunch buffet only…read more I went with my family to try the $18.49 all you can eat lunch buffet. This was my first time experiencing a buffet for hispanic food and for this price point in Orlando, this is an amazing value deal. The server regularly brought us out silverware, napkins, and refilled our water. The place is decorated very fun and plays latin music which was lovely Not only was there an unlimited assortment of lunch foods, but an entire bar of fresh toppings for tacos (or rice bowls) and made to order desserts which were included for free! Not everything on the buffet line was the best but given the amount of options, price, and how good the great items are this is still worth a five star rating. I unfortunately did not take pictures of the food before I began devouring everything in sight to the point of near-collapse, but I will do a quick rundown of the buffet highlights: The best meats were the fajita steak, chicken, and shrimp made fresh in cast iron skillets, as well as the chicken lengua which was super flavorful and tender. The mexican rice, beans, fajitas, plantains, and street corn were also excellent. Fresh quesadillas, chips, and corn tortillas on standby with homemade queso and salsas. The flan and mini churros were the best I've ever had. Super rich, decadent Carmel flan. Mini churros hot and crisp on the outside, filled with a gooey soft milk chocolate center. They were delicious. Items that were disappointing: the tamales, mini chicken flautas, and beef chimichangas were just okay, lacking the seasoning and flavor that other dishes had. The beef barbacoa was not as tender or flavorful as the shredded chicken surprisingly. The mixed seafood was itself a mixed bag with some shrimps / scallops overcooked to much while others were perfectly cooked. The chicken mole and beef tri tip were room temperature despite sitting on hot plates. The tri tip also varied widely in doneness throughout the slices and not super tender. The rice pudding was pretty standard, and the tres leches cake was weird as they crumbled the cake into pieces before soaking it.

The restaurant itself is very nice inside clean, well designed, and has a welcoming atmosphere. There's also a parking garage nearby, which makes it convenient. When we arrived, it wasn't too busy, and it took our server about 4 minutes to greet us. Once she did, she was incredibly friendly and accommodating, especially since I have a shellfish allergy. That definitely stood out and made me feel comfortable dining there. They start you off with complimentary chips and dips, which were amazing and a great way to kick off the meal. For my main, I ordered the chipotle queso enchiladas along with the Perfect Paloma. The drink lived up to its name it was refreshing, flavorful, and honestly one of the highlights of the meal. We also tried the supreme nachos, which were good overall, but the beans were a bit overpowering compared to the other toppings. As the restaurant started to get busier, things did slow down a bit, and the food took longer than expected because they were backed up. That said, our server continued to check in on us and kept a great attitude the entire time. When the enchiladas finally came out, they did not disappoint. The chipotle queso enchiladas were absolutely delicious full of flavor and definitely something I'd order again. The only downside was the rice, which was a little hard and not as enjoyable as the rest of the plate. We went in during Happy Hour expecting to sip a drink while we waited for food. Despite advertising Half Off Cocktails, when the server finally arrived we were informed that it only applied to about six margaritas on their menu, not 'cocktails' as advertised. We didn't complain to the server, as we assumed it wasn't his policy. Disappointing and misleading. We did end up ordering a variety of margaritas, which were disappointing to our crew for various reasons. Mine was acceptable but not exciting, though. I got the swirl with sangria. We checked in online and got the free 'guac'. I wish I'd snapped a photo, as it arrived without an attempt at presentation, just two scoops of mushed avocado on a plate. It needed more seasoning, which was unfortunate because there was no salt at our high top table. Nachos were decent, but soggy. I asked for extra jalapenos, which I did receive and they gave my plate more flavor. Service was fine. I felt bad that our server was both tending bar and taking orders as happy hour seemed to be a busier time for him. Overall, my experience was ho hum but my table partners were disappointed in the food, drinks, and experience. Hopefully yours is better than ours!
