It has a vintage feel with a trendy vibe. The space is open and presents a relaxing environment. There is indoor and outdoor seating so pick your pleasure and grab a seat. I decided to get an Americano with French Vanilla and Oat Milk. Making my order, the gentleman behind the counter was very nice. He displayed a level of service that would definitely make a customer return. While placing my order, the smell of fresh coffee took over my entire body and I was ready to sip. lol!!!! Once my coffee was ready the gentleman asked me if I wanted to taste it to make sure it was right. As a TRUE coffee drinker, I could tell by the smell that it was spot on. Let's Gooooooooo!!!!! Upon taking my first sip my entire body melted. The house brew was absolutely phenomenal and I am in love. The brew was smooth and had a velvet feel to it. The oat milk balanced the hints of chocolate that are so faint that if you don't sip slowly you might miss them. The entire cup was a mouth pleasing, coffee lovers paradise. One word, WOW!!!! Though I live nowhere near EAV, I will be purposely driving over here a few times a month to get a cup of this Goodness!!!! #CoffeeMePlease

Perfectly browned Texas toast (I think?), well-cooked egg, and generous cheese. The DH had a bacon egg cheese sandwich, the bacon was cooked crispy and hanging out the edges with great temptation. They don't even have a sign yet, but go! They are just getting started, look for great things to happen as they get it going.

I went on a Friday morning, and the restaurant was moderately busy there were spaces open, however, it was still active, and there were a few full tables and people having conversations. They had anime and various other things playing on the televisions throughout. I went in for simply a pastry and specifically to try out the apple pie Matcha. I will say it did not disappoint. One thing I always love when I'm getting a Matcha is stellar presentation and it met that. With the piping of the cinnamon cold cold foam, to the apple crisp and caramel on top, it looked beautiful, and I was happy to enjoy it! This had a great balance between the whole milk, and the amount of Matcha you can see it is a nice dark green color It also wasn't too sweet, and I felt I was getting apple pie from the drink through the hint of spices in there, along with the garnish. I was able to secure a table against the wall for two by myself to take a quick snapshot of my tray and try out my drink before leaving. I also got a caramelized onion croissant with Gruyère cheese. These were both strong flavors, that worked well together. I do wish I could've gotten heated, but maybe that's something you have to do upon request. Overall, I can't wait to go back and try some of the other items, and dine at the restaurant in the future, looking forward to the next seasonal drink! ** be sure to park in the lot next-door, to have it validated inside!**

The katsu don bowls took a long time to come out (around 30 mins!) while our friends were already served their ramen. The katsu don was good, very filling but definitely not the best I've had. On the bright side, they gave us free strawberry pastries for the long wait which were tasty. We were the only group in there, and the TV was playing loud Kpop music videos that interrupted conversation. Overall: mid food, long wait for katsu don, eerily not crowded, and loud music inside. Wouldn't come back or recommend.

Their selections change seasonally, and I was excited to try one of their newest cocktails. The menu is categorized by drink type (signature, trademark, etc.) and I excitedly tried a cocktail suggested by the amazing and attentive bartender, Raul. I'm so glad that I heeded his suggestion and tried the Lemon Meringue Pie cocktail because it was balanced and great for a dessert cocktail. The passionfruit meringue on top was sheer perfection. When I'm back in Atlanta I eagerly look forward to returning to The James Room!

The drinks were okay at first, nothing crazy. One thing I will say though, the bartender came by to get feedback and actually adjusted my drink on the spot. I didn't like the espresso martini at all at first but after I said what was off, they knew exactly what to add and it ended up much better. The speakeasy vibe I remember also wasn't really there this time. The front felt a bit disorganized, and combined with the loud music, it just didn't have that same intimate, polished feel. Not sure if it was just an off night or if things are starting to slip a bit, but I'd still say it's worth trying for yourself.

We visited on a Saturday morning and were immediately seated as a party of 5, which we were surprised by considering the people in front of us were given a wait time. The vibe of the space gives off European chic and made the experience even more enjoyable. I ordered an iced vanilla latte, which was decent. I really enjoyed the American Omelette. I also tried a side of the French toast to satisfy my sweet tooth, which was decent and got the job done (but nothing super memorable). Overall, all of the food was a hit amongst our table. Our server was very kind, attentive, and answered all of our questions. Overall, I highly recommend visiting Cafe Intermezzo!

Food- I ordered a Belgium waffle with coconut mango, which was basically a waffle with powdered sugar, mango jam, and coconut flakes. The waffle was hot, crispy, delicious. The jam was sweet but tasted a bit generic and could have easily been mistaken for peach jam. The mango flavor just wasn't very apparent. It was good but not memorable and overall it was very one note and too sweet. I think the usage of fresh mango and a coconut cream, or a crunchy coconut flake, and an herb such as basil mint or thyme would have really elevated this. I also tried their spicy tortellini. This was good, the portion is nice, the temperature was piping hot, the tortellini had a good bite and texture. Where it lacked was in flavor and dimension. Again, it tasted like very one note and the cream and cheese and pasta just all kind of blend into one experience in a very bland way. There wasn't no variety in texture or flavor, no pops of color, no sense of fresh herbs or citrus, no differentiating textures. Overall, with what limited portion of the menu I tried, I wouldn't return for these items. They were just okay and they didn't perform to the level I expected for such a well known cafe in Atlanta.
