HOWEVER, they didn't even TRY to protect the grass by putting down plywood to drive their heavy trucks on like most anyone driving on soft grass for tree work. They created large ruts in the grass. I know this because I voluntarily cut this persons grass and my mower now jumps all over the place when I go over the ruts. I did the best I could to pull it back up but they are deep ruts and with a powerful commercial mower like mine it bounces all over the place almost out of control. He was confident in exactly what we needed, stating that he did jobs like this all the time. He gave his honest opinion on how to best approach the job and gave me a quote that came in lower than the ones I had received elsewhere, which included haul away of the branches. We booked for a few weeks out due to the upcoming holiday weekend (4th of July) but then Randy called and said they had an opening for the following day and we hopped on it. The crew showed up 5 min early and got to work quickly. Randy stopped by to go over the details and let his guys take care of the rest. They trimmed all three trees in a little over 3 hours, cleaning as they went. They left my yard exactly how it was before they came, blowing out my driveway and everything. They were efficient and pleasant to have here. My dogs didn't even bark at them, which is saying something! For me they have always done a more than perfect job, meanwhile being careful to minimize collateral damage, and left the work site in very clean condition. I want to note here that they do not "cut corners", so other contractors that do a less complete job in a less safe manner can undercut Dave's estimates. You get what you pay for.
