This place is nice, we opted to sit outside near the waterfall, very relaxing. The food? 3/5. Ordered shrimp tacos. Portion was generous, 3 soft-shelled tacos. The outer side was grilled, creating the crunch. I'm never fond of soft-shell tacos, but these taco skins were good. The shrimp was a little too salty and they put too much cabbage in it - creating this slightly bitter taste. Next time, I'll try something else. Went here to meet a coworker, but is a nice quiet spot for dinner, which was actually very good. They have a full bar, fireplace and TVs. I can't believe I am the first to review this Golf Club and the Grill 19 restaurant. Sam Moon bought the golf course and promptly built this new structure. The Golf club is great for large parties (think wedding receptions) and for business meetings in one of their boardrooms. We've been coming here for years, every week. We don't golf but we love the grill and bar. Amber is just the best, she's always happy and joyous, even when you can see it's been a long day for her. She loves learning new drinks (she's the head bartender) and always wants your drinks to be perfect. The head chef Hector keeps the menu fresh with a few new or seasonal things. He and his assistants put excellent food out on your table. He's even made some special items when health issues required some adjustments. We just love the Grill! read more

I think we need a NEW REVIEW! Have been going here for about 2 years! Learned a few months ago their cooks have been deported!! Tried once again to go and give them a chance, ordered the ramen soup, they said, "yes we have it, but we have no Raman noodles"! Ok, seriously! My last review in 2012 said we had been there 3 times, it is now at least 50. We love this place, its quiet, close to home, has excellent food, and has a great staff! All of the entrees we've ordered and re-ordered are very consistent, they taste great every time. The restaurant has good week day specials, especially Monday and Tuesday nights. My wife and I usually eat here once a week or pickup from here as take out. Very nice atmosphere and something on the menu for everyone! Hidden gem for sure! read more

Service is horrible, and the food is just not up to the quality it used to be. Not coming back. Burned rolls? "I'll be right back with good ones." Never saw her again. Cocktail onions? Nope. Southern Comfort? "We're out." Waited 15 minutes at the end of the meal, while the server chatted with the next table, then turned to take care of their check without glancing at my table. While still not as good as the "old days" before they turned this into an upscale "country club", the burgers here have definitely improved in the past few months. Back "in the day" (2003 to 2005) I was stopping by for a burger and onion rings at least twice and sometimes 3 times a week. Then new owners came in, built a beautiful new clubhouse, hired a chef and the burger quality went downhill. The onion rings must have been considered to pedestrian for the upscale clientele and were removed from the menu. I decided last week to give Grill 19 another try (after having sworn it off over a year ago) and am pleased to note that the burgers are much, much better. Still no onion rings (come on guys!), but they do have onion "strings" that they will serve instead of fries. The cheeseburger is a little pricey at $8.95, but comes with fries (or strings), so it is not outrageous. I have visited Grill 19 twice in the past 10 days and will do so again. They are literally within walking distance of our home, so it is really convenient. I cannot comment on the other menu items, but the burgers are probably the best in Carrollton right now. read more

This is a hidden gem as mentioned in earlier posts. Its is on a golf resort so dont expect them to ge open late. The menu is nice. I went by myself during happy hour. I had steak frites and chicken tenders (huge tenders) for happy hour. It was comical that when the bar area went from day to night that that bar spotlights started strobing like a nightclub. The bartender apologized profusely as I understood it was out of her control. It's odd to compliment fries but they each fry is perfectly crispy. This is my new favorite place for happy hour! Sundays you can buy a bottle of wine for 1/2 price! Happy Hour is Mon - Thurs, 3 pm - 7 pm. They have $5.00 appetizers -- and let me tell you -- the portions are colossal so if you share -- that's pretty cheap! I have tasted several of the appetizers and you won't be disappointed! We waited 10 minutes for a server to notice us. It is a walk-in restaurant and you seat yourself. Never had this issue before when they were busy and did not come over right away. Excited about a night out. The other patrons looked like they had had their food and now waiting for tickets to pay and to leave. I saw 3 couples go to the busy bar to just pay to leave. We went looking for a manager since they are a golf course and The Augusta Masters was on multiple televisions, the front desk was empty as it had been for a long time. We got there at 7:20 and left 20 minutes later and walked past a server in a pink shirt who did not look like she cared we were leaving. So sad they were there to serve all of the patrons that had played golf and had already finished and were waiting to pay to leave. We will not return since the service was so terrible. read more

This was a a nice place with friendly waitstaff. However, the food wasn't good. The fried mozzarella with marinara was fine. The fish & chips was not very good & we sent it back barely touched. The chicken fried steak left an aftertaste and the flatbread pizza was pretty good, although too salty. Two people asked how our food was, but we weren't comped for the fish. Loved this hidden gem. We are castle hills residents and looking for something to change up our restaurant 'usuals' Super full menu with many options. I got the Watermelon and Tomato salad - so light and fresh for summer. The manager came out to ask how it was and informed me that I was the first customer to try this new dish (we saw the Chef peeking around the corner to listen for feedback. ;) Husband went with the turkey wrap- good, but basic. I got a side of the garlic whipped mashed potatoes and told him they were literally the best I've ever had. So good! Friday evening- Wonderful service, quiet dining room and excellent food. I have always loved grill 19. My husband and i have always given our business up until very recently with all the changes. The table cloths for a golf course? My husband and his friends won't golf there anymore because they feel weird drinking beer on a fancy table cloth. I don't know why they changed when it was perfect. So we went to Grill 19 for lunch today mouth watering for a bowl of their fantastic Chicken Ramen Noodle bowl only to be told - AFTER placing our order - that they only had enough for one serving because the owner was coming tonight with a large crowd and they were saving what they had for him and his party. Also, they have to go to a Korean market to buy the noodles because there is no distributor. Humm, they couldn't serve ours and go to the market later today? Anyway, we were very disappointed about no ramen, but more disappointed no manager came out and apologized. I had requested my dish for the same price as the ramen because it was three dollars more. The best they could do was comp my coffee, which was not good to begin with, and a nother co-diner's coffee and iced tea - which probably cost them five cents! The waiter's apology did not feel sincere. He was flippant about it all and kept forgetting about us. We are semi-regulars there, but won't be going back. read more

At first, this place looks a little intimidating. From the road, it looks like a high end private golf club, but the sign out front says OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. We don't typically eat at golf courses, but decided to finally try it out because of all the good reviews. I am so glad we braved it out and went inside. I have a new go to place for a Guarranteed Good Meal "GGM". The quality of the food and ambiance is similar to a Cheesecack Factory or a Houstons/Hillstone (all GGMs), but the price is much less. Here are the items that we had that I highly recommend: Mexican Style Shrimp Cocktail - ask for a side of tortilla chips, trust me Cheeseburger - the only ones better are the ones I make ;) Blackened Chicken Sandwich - melted pepper jack cheese + spicy mayo = yum Hawaiian Salmon - better than Cheesecake's Side bonus, the free rolls at dinner were hot, soft, and sooo good. You could seriously have a good meal with just the rolls and butter, lol. Super side bonus, the wine selection is off the chain. It is better than both Cheesecake and Houstons/Hillstone. I would definitely try this place out for a GGM. read more
