I've only started donating in this center for a few weeks and they've already paid me the wrong amount TWICE! (paid me $40 instead of $70 for 2nd donation). Once is a mistake, twice is a pattern ... that's either from laziness or incompetence! I left a voice mail to the manager, let's see if anything will actually change. I recently visited to donate plasma for the second time, and this was a frustrating experience from the start. When I arrived, the staff at the counter were too busy gossiping among themselves while people, including myself, were waiting. It felt very unprofessional and made me feel like I wasn't being treated with the respect I deserved. Things didn't get better once I was seated. The medical professional who started the procedure seemed inexperienced, as they inserted the needle but kept moving it around, all while the machine was beeping. It took a while before they called someone else for help. That person, who had been gossiping earlier, casually mentioned that the needle had infiltrated, which made me stop the donation. I asked if I could still receive payment for the day, and they told me no. Feeling a bit frustrated, I agreed to try again with my right arm. But that, too, didn't go smoothly. They took way too long, and the procedure ended up being a total waste of time. Overall, the lack of professionalism and care was disappointing. I would not recommend donating here. All bruised up, and not to mention, the first time I donated they called and ask how I was doing the day after. I have not heard from since then. 4 days later. It's a shame, I won't be going back and the life saving plasma will be going to waste. read more

DO NOT COME HERE. i hesitate to even call the staff here medical professionals, they seem UNABLE TO THINK COMPETENTLY and should NOT BE TRUSTED to work with needles or biohazards. THE PAY IS LOW and appointments always take longer than estimated. if you want to be treated like a human being and make a good chunk of change don't waste your time here. I've been coming here since August of 2023. Wait times since around August of 25 have tripled. I would wait around 10-15 minutes in the waiting area (as a returning donor) while they would be constantly calling people to the back. I heard management changed and with it came what seems like lots and lots of waiting. I love that the place is clean and staff is nice. However I can't get over that service used to be extremely faster! Now they call people in batches. The process went from 1 hour (when properly hydrating and making sure I eat a protein packed meal). Now I made my appointment at 6:15 and at 9 I am still waiting to be sent to donate. I recommend freeing up 3-4 hours prior to coming. read more

I've been making donations for a little over a year now, and each time it gets more and more harder dealing with the people at Grifols in Chicago on central. The customer service is terrible and now the last time I donated . I was promised a $50 bonus which I never received. I then called in spoke to a representative , filed a complaint and was told it would be resolved in 72 hours. It never was resolved and I was never paid my bonus. Now if they would pay me I would never go back. They need to HONOR their promises. read more

Had a terrible experience. Went online to book appointment for the afternoon ended up going in waiting an hour just for them to tell me that they weren't doing any more appointments. This was the initial set up so I assumed it would take longer than normal but regardless after waiting for a full hour they then told me that I had to leave because they weren't doing any more exams that day. I wish they would've told me that when I first came in so I didn't waste an hour +30 minutes of driving both ways. read more

Usually the experience is alright. However they are short staffed numerous times which increases the wait time and the length of the whole procedure. And if something goes wrong, such as in my case a bottle with a hole in it leaking plasma, 2 staff members were rather easygoing about it, laughing about it then casually telling me not to come back for 2 months without so much as an apology for what would have been a very preventable incident if more attention was paid. Depending on which staff member you get, the whole experience can range from quick and easy to painful. read more

It seems like the criteria used to assess if one is an eligible donor is completely arbitrary. I see people constantly get turned away for what appears to be ridiculous reasons and it's always the same people doing the turning away also I referred a friend here and he had a horrific experience, leaving his arm badly bruised up and down. He wasn't able to donate and is too spooked by the barbaric treatment to return. Since the retention rate is so low you'd think they wouldn't be turning people away for nonsensical reasons (scratch on your arm, suffix not on social). read more

I have been a donor for the past 5 months and had a pretty great experience overall screening time can take a bit but nurses and staff are usually busy it's rare to see them standing around and or talking about anything other than for assistance. Overall good sticks and when I did have an issue they were all very attentive and helped me immediately. Definitely need patience if ur in a rush not for you. Morning time is best time to go, evening it's obviously busy so be patient!!! But good staff and care love this center. read more

This place has cost me money. I donated twice and was deferred my third visit for low protein. I scheduled another appointment later the same week and was told my initial blood draw during my physical was 5.9 and needed to be at a 6 for protein. Instead of doing another finger print to recheck, Grifols took a whole new tube and said I'd have to wait a week for them to send it to a lab and get the results back. They won't tell you the results over the phone so you have to drive to the center and ask them to tell you in person. I've had to do this twice. I'm not going back. I've donated at BioLife and if you're low on whatever, they simply tell you to come back the next day. Why does Grifols draw an entire tube and send it off to a lab to retest for everything? Stupid and wasteful of my time, and gas. read more

guaranteed me and my friend 4 times of giving plasma for $125 a piece . the third time they changed it to just $100, my fourth time i just went in and they are saying $40. I even have a piece of paper proving what the rates were for my first four times. At the end of the day this place treats you like fucking cattle go somewhere else, i wish i would have. I will not be returning here again. Awful service. My arm was cramping up so bad. I was almost done. I couldn't help moving my arm hoping it will stop the severe cramping and I was ignored multiple times, my vein got huge. I asked to be removed and all I got was scolded by Adriana how I was going to be deferred for me getting a severe cramp and charged 5 dollars for not finishing up the donation.. If I could give this place zero (0) stars, I would. I was coming in as a new donor on 4/28/2025 and noticed the atmosphere was very negative between other donors and the staff members. I didn't pay that any attention because I'm the type of person that always give people the benefit of the doubt, especially if I don't know a person. So, everything was going perfectly fine. Up until I was screened. Everything was going well, until they took my blood pressure (BP). It kept reading 170 something/110 right...so, I'm thinking to myself "what's wrong with me - am I going to die soon"? But,I was feeling well. Next day, mind you, I am missing a full day's worth of work - I come back to donate as a new donor and again, my blood pressure was 179/110. The lady took it again and it read 190/110. At that point, I knew it wasn't my health. Hell, a 5-year old would be able to know something wasn't right. I told them if I was at 190/110, I would be in the hospital! A screener responded by saying "well, it all depends". I cut him off really quick and told him, "I would know better, because my mom was in the medical field. She died helping others feel better." They had me sit for 15 minutes; my BP then read 187/110. At that point, I knew they were playing with me. I went to another plasma center donation place and my blood pressure was 140/89 and it only took me about a good 25 minutes to donate!!! So, be careful when considering this dump!!!! read more

My husband has been to this location twice to sell plasma. He said the waits were always long, but more concerning is the people handling the donation seem inexperienced- and my husband regularly donates blood and platelets so he knows the drill. The last time he went he said the person inserted the needle incorrectly, it was incredibly painful, and he had a HUGE bruise covering the entirety of the inside of his elbow for a week.
