After pulling into town we were looking for some fresh seafood and Griffs did not disappoint. The building is a low slung one story with indoor/outdoor carpet and four top tables. When you enter you pass a takeout area. The window views are of the waterway and boats. We were greeted and seated quickly. Everything about this restaurant is pretty wonderful. The portions are large, the food is delicious and the view is spectacular. We highly recommend this restaurant. I have the ahi tuna cooked rare with a baked potato and a nice salad with bay shrimp. . My husband had New England clam chowder and the captains platter. We also shared a bottle of Pinot Noir. We thought the prices were very fair and we would definitely come here again. read more

The restaurant is on the water, but that was about the only good thing. Food was very subpar. I ordered salmon which was just ok. Salad was lettuce and 2 grape tomatoes with bottled tasting dressing. Service was ok, but the restaurant is very old with indoor/outdoor carpet. read more

Went this evening for the Monday fish and chips special, our first visit to Griff's. Extremely happy with everything, the service, the food and prices. Mondays in January they offer the 3 piece fish and chips for just $10, and what a deal it is! We were served a heaping plate of large pieces of fish, fries, and home made cole slaw and tarter sauce. Can't say enough good things! Waiters were friendly and prompt, the atmosphere very comfortable. We'll definitely make a return visit to Griff's! Thank you. read more

Service was excellent, for just one person. The competition across the parking lot was closed for staffing issues, so this place was busier than usual. I enjoyed the lovely bay view and nautical decor while waiting. My salmon steak was very well cooked, and my salad came with bay shrimp. I also ordered 6 raw oysters, figuring that a quality seafood place like this would be able to serve those fresh even in July. They did, and they were delicious. read more

Shrimp cocktail 3 Prawns/ 2 fish combo w/fries & coleslaw Clam chowder Griffs steak sandwich We were expecting deep fried fish, that is not how this establishment prepares it and the fish was a little tuff. We have eaten here in the past and this experience was no less awesome. Sorry, I didn't take pictures this time, but there are plenty already. Two in our party had fish n chips. The batter was light and crunchy and the fish was moist and flaky. This was so fresh it was hard to believe. I had the shrimp battered and the scallops sautéed. Everything was superb. If you want seafood fresh and cooked to perfection, this is the only place to go. read more

stopped by on 11/12/25... met brand new owner "Justin".. this night he was doing everything... host, waiter, cook, dishwasher... such a pleasant person.. service was quick.. had bowl of clam chowder and crab sandwich.. Fried fried fried. I guess this is the type of food folks want to eat around here but I just hoped for a more representative experience of what the fish tasted like. It all tasted like French fries with a seafood aftertaste. However I did try their clam chowder which was amazing and I highly recommend. It's the only thing I will order next time. read more

Ok, first of all, don't go here expecting a Back To The Future II themed restaurant. Because as cool as it would be to have a place dedicated to Biff's grandson Griff...this isn't that. Shame, though. It would have been cool to have Ronald Regan and Max Headroom swinging around on screens. What this place ACTUALLY is is a pretty kick-ass seafood restaurant. We had the misfortune of coming in right after an enormous table so it took a while to get our food, but the servers were super pleasant and apologetic. It's a small place, so you run that risk. The food was excellent, though. (Buuuut if you get steak order it several degrees rarer than you want it- my wife's "medium" steak was very well done.) The clam chowder was unique but excellent. Great prawns. Tasty herb toast. Great bay view. Shame about the lack of Deloreans, though. read more

We are so pleased and will be back for sure!! Hubby says it's the 2nd best cioppino he's ever tasted... his Moms being first! The service is phenomenal, friendly staff, great prices, the kind of place you feel at home. Fried food galore. Fried calamari, fried shrimp, fried scampi, fried oysters, fried scallops, fries..... if in the mood for fried food, you are good. I was, so we went. It was ok, very very very greasy. Literally the oil dripping off my scallops and shrimp. One of my scallops was not cooked through and the waitress brought out a freshly fried one, much better. However, really, not able to fry some thing right? So overall, not impressed. read more

I've hit this place every time I've been here, and have always had good food and good service. Same thing yesterday, with a shrimp Louie and a bowl of chowder for lunch. The chowder was good and meaty, unlike some I've had at other places. The shrimp Louie was excellent and more than filling. The service was exemplary. The view ... well, it's water-front. Not inspiring, but pleasant. Reading some past reviews, I'm not sure how some folks are so completely dissatisfied with the place. Maybe they just want to see their names in Yelp or maybe they're not satisfied with much of anything, or maybe they just had a bad day and want to take their attitude out on someone else. Who can say? Me, I definitely recommend this place for lunch. It's great! I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

Went there because the ratings bit was very disappointing. We each ordered a cup of clam chowder and shared a 2 piece fish 3 prawns and French fries. The waitress kept apologizing the minute we walked in saying they were slammed. There were 12 people total in the restaurant. Our soup came out cold so we carried it back to have them nuke it or whatever after giving up on our waitress. She then brings the fish plate which looked like someone had eaten half of the soggy fries. The fish was two small soggy pieces and the "prawns" were medium sized shrimp. We heard them in the back arguing about the soup which still had not come out so we cancelled. Although the waitress was nice her demeanor changed upon hearing the soup wasn't hot. And it was $19.95!!!! Terrible read more

Cute place, seems cramped when you step in the door, but dining room is nice with great window view of the water. Not your usual fish batter. The batter on the cod and shrimp was very light. The seafood tasted fresh and delicate, therefore the cocktail and tartar sauce wasn't really needed although both were tasty. Waitress was very attentive and proud of the wine selection that was available although we didn't try any. Clam chowder was the best that we found in the area. read more

I wished they had turned the space heaters on so the experience could have been more comfortable. Parking was easy on the pier as no one was around. There was no entertainment either other than the howling wind. They have friendly, great service each time we go. It's been impossible not to be a glutton here. I had cheesecake for dessert & a peanut butter pie to go. The remains of a retired Coast Guard cutter, the entry way brings you into what looks to be a steel galleyway. Portholes peek through to the bar area and dining rooms. Up top, guests can reserve a private dining room, built from the original Bridge Cabin of the ship! Ron's original artwork adorned the walls of the place, and were quite unique - definitely adds to the decor. We sat down with the menu, and were pleased with the excellent variety of items available. We started off with the Clams Portuguese appetizer, and all LOVED it! In my opinion, it could have included a few more wheels of the Linguica, but the flavor was perfect. The drinks menu was very inviting, but considering that we were all extending our Dry January tradition, opted to try them on another visit. For our main course, my partner ordered the Beef Stroganoff. Being an aficionado of this dish, and having her own special recipe herself, she really loved how the flavors blended. The bartender was also making the most gorgeous looking sushi rolls, which we will try next time. It's right on the water. There isn't a view from the restaurant, but it would be a perfect post dinner walk on dock for a date night.
