We were looking for a quick lunch close to base. Someone suggested Griff's and it was close so we went there. Maybe 3 miles from base. It was after the lunch rush so seats were abundant. I decided on the jumbo hamburger with fries on the side, no mustard. Ketchup, pickles and lettuce. It too a few to get the food. You are given a receipt and on the receipt is a number, they call your number and your food is ready for pickup. The burger was ok, the bread was stale which killed the sandwich. I think fresh bread is essential to a good sandwich. The fries were crispy and needed ketchup and salt. In the restaurant there is a small bar offering condiments, napkins, and drinking straws. I ordered root beer which was good. For a quick meal at a good price Griff's hits the spot. Be aware jumbo isn't really jumbo. The burger reminded me of frozen patties from Costco you can cook on the grill quick. read more

Griff's isn't anything fancy or grand, but we always have a good time and we really enjoy the food. I don't live in Shreveport but I have gone out of my way to eat here when I was traveling through. The burgers are nicely grilled with a good char on the edges. The fish sandwich was only OK. My wife really likes the chicken sandwich. The fries are good but I love the tater tots more. The staff are friendly and they always seem like they are glad to see me. Plenty of seating available. It gets a little loud when they are busy but not so loud you can't hear when they call your number to let you know your food is ready. Never a long wait for food. The parking lot is small and gets blocked in when the drive-thru line gets long. Minor inconveniences really. The food is so good the other stuff doesn't detract. read more

The food was EXCELLENT! The onions rings were so good, I ordered another tray. The burger was fat and filling. The service was great and the food was properly cooked and hot right off the stove. The drink size is acceptable, looks like they serve one size, large, and that's fine by me! The establishment is neat and clean. But what impressed me most was the young man busting tables and making sure guess had a clean environment to enjoy their meal! So angry right now! Went through the drive through, ordered, pulled up to the window, paid with my card, which i had a receipt. They came out and told me i didnt pay. Handed them the receipt that the cashier just gave me and they told me i never paid still. Why would i try and cheat them out of a F#$cking cheseseburger. Not sure why i was targted but she refused to give me the food that i paid for and shows up on my debit card statement. I told them to keep the money and drove off. Finally tried Griff's while exploring after moving here not too long ago. We're from Los Angeles and miss the huuuuge variety of really great food there. Delicious fast food! We hit the Griff's drive-thru before heading back to Alexandria. I had the steak finger basket, which included white gravy and REAL buttered toast, my hubby and dad both had the steak sandwich, and my mom had a small burger. Everything was delicious and seemed to be cooked to order. Fries were ok but I was wishing I had ordered the onion rings instead. Home of the Bass G-riff from your fave rock song, of Griff Tannen from Back To The Future 2, and of really excellent fast food, Shreve-style. It was the awesome Billy Joe - the most famous yelper in Shreveport - who told me to try this place when I came through. I had cats with me and they enjoyed sharing in the fun. We got burgers and sides and all kinds of treats. Everything was excellent. It wasn't the best fast food I've ever had (cough Swensons, cough Cook Out) but it was certainly right up there and these guys know how to make their goodies. The prices were pretty good, not bargain basement, but fair. It was definitely a five-star experience and is my favorite place to eat in Shreveport although I have not tried very many. Not a great part of town, although sadly, there seems to be a lot of run down areas in Shreveport. I park, and there's garbage in the parking lot as I enter. Looks like it's been there a while. I go inside, and it looks clean. One other customer getting his food as I enter. I order my food, I got a chicken sandwich, fries, and a vanilla milkshake to go. There's a lot of people behind the counter working, yet my food takes a while to be prepared. Probably cooked to order. I brought the food back to my hotel, about a six minute drive. The chicken sandwich was good, the fries were soggy and could have used some more salt, and the shake was good. I don't know if the fries got soggy from being in the bag for 10 minutes or that's just the way they are. Overall, decent food on par with McDonald's or Wendy's. Came into this establishment one evening for a burger. Being from California I can say there are tons of great burger spots. This was simple but something struck me - it reminded me of a burger I had as a kid, something in the bite took me back in a good way to something I ate made from home. It was a GOOD! The workers were all happy and having a good time as they laughed, talked and worked to complete my order. The food was Luke warm and very greasy. But the worst part is when we asked for water and they told us they didn't have any water so I commented we were not looking for bottled water just tap water. I stopped by during lunch and at the time there were no available parking slots. I was lucky to be the only one in the drive thru at the time. I placed my order and drove up to the window. I received my food but had to pull up to be brought my shake. The time spent waiting was super short. My food was right on point. My shake helped me to break the heat and humidity I was feeling. In the last two years nothing has changed about Griffs. The burgers taste the same as do the fries and shake.
