I got the pistachio gelato, which tasted pretty normal for being vegan. For 3€, it was definitely on the pricier side though.

Cheesecake and other chocolate yummies. Doesnt matter the name. Just put them in your belly.

How can you not even 5-star raw chocolate that comes without its evil, nasty, stomach irritating cousin dairy?! They have mousse, chocolate treats, and even little rich cakes to take away and share with your posh friends. All with rich, lovely ingredients you can pronounce like: almonds, coconut oil, agave...yes! If you need to splurge on chocolate, this is the place to do it.

I don't think Five stars enough my wife and I fell in love here. Everything is gluten free and everything is amazing. We went here 3 out of 4 nights in Rome. We couldn't get enough. You must stop here and enjoy their treats.

Small place, very cool. The location is nice, near to many stores. The ice cream is delicious and the staff is very friendly.

Grezzo Raw Chocolate is insane. Not only do they have great tasting chocolate, but nearly all other sweets, truffles, miniature cakes and pastries, smoothies and ice cream come in flavors you wouldn't expect, in addition to the traditional kinds. Everything is dairy free, gluten free, and sugar free, made without the use of preservatives, colors, or any other additives. The ingredients used are based on almonds, coconuts, and natural sweeteners and colorants that come from veggies and fruits. All of it processed at low temperatures below 42 degrees Celsius to keep the nutrition and flavor intact. Dolci Freschi, freshly made truffles and mini brownies interchange flavors right before your eyes, as they get bought and consumed, new ones come in their place on display. Rich chocolate brown decor everywhere. Their signature raw chocolate comes from Ecuador and is handmade from sun dried cocoa beans. They also have raw cookies dried for 24 hours at low temperatures. Tavolette di Cioccolato Crudo 50g €5, 100g €10 and has various cocoa content like 40%, 60%, 70%, and 80%. All Smoothies (Frullati) are €6, and there are some amazing varieties I've never came across in the U.S., with ingredients like avocado or dates, just seems quite unusual. They use almond milk for smoothies, too! Fatti con latte di mandorla fresco. CacaoMaca Energy Green Detox RedMint Antioxidant Piña Colada Tropical Rawpuccino Healthy Power Milk €4 Gelati Ice Cream, realizzato con latte di mandorla fresco, made with almond milk, starting with €3 per cup, respectively higher for every additional scoop at €4, €5, €6. Flavors come in Mandorla (Almond), Nocciolo (Hazelnut), signature Cioccolato Crudo (Raw Chocolate from Ecuador), Bonet (Coffee flavor), Pistachio, Giandija (hazelnut and raw chocolate), Frutti di Bosco (Wild Blueberry, Mango, Fragola (strawberry). Cheesecakes with almonds (mandorle), coconut sugar (zucchero di cocco), cashews (anacardi), coconut oil (olio di cocco), agave, Mango or Wild Blueberries (mango o mirtillo selvatico). €6 Crostatina Alla Zucca - Almond flour (Farina di Mandorle), coconut flour (Farina di Cocco), Coconut oil (Olio di Cocco), Agave, Raw chocolate (Cioccolato Crudo), Pumpkin (Zucca), Ginger (Zenzero). Everything is truly delicious. I had chocolate and hazelnut ice cream gelato, creamy and tasty as hell.

After eating dinner at a near by restaurant. I walked into Grezzo craving some ice cream. I must admit I was expecting a unique chocolate flavor experience but it wasn't anything to go crazy over. It wasn't bad but it wasn't all I hoped for.

I really appreciate just walking along and popping into a shop and being pleasantly surprised. Grezzo is a Raw Chocolate bar and everything about this place is just awesome. The staff was super friendly and gave us great service. We went twice while in Rome because it was so delicious. The biggest highlight for me was the chocolate tarts. These little cookie cups filled with liquid chocolate are amazing. We also had the carrot cake, a light and fluffy cake, and a few pieces of chocolate with some nuts. Everything was great and it is a wonderful treat after dinner. I highly recommend checking this place out when you are in Rome!

Very good vegan gelato! It's a bit "dark" for my taste as I don't believe they add real sugar, but it's good nonetheless.

Everything tastes super fresh and creamy, and the flavors feel really authentic without being overly sweet or artificial. What I liked most is how consistent it is--whether you go for classics like pistachio or something more indulgent, it always tastes rich and high quality. It's the kind of spot where you can tell they really care about what they're making. The vibe is simple and focused on the gelato itself, not anything flashy, which honestly fits perfectly for a place like this. Always worth stopping by if you're in Rome and want proper gelato.

And very likely using a warm process. Very clean, payment / ordering process is efficient. That's where I say everything is good. The gelato - really not for me. It's very very sweet for my tastes. Which might be fine as it's nothing I would crave to eat more than once in a while - and not more than a few spoonfuls at a time. Not to worry, that's all you're getting anyway as the scoopers seem trained to smooth on your gelato like a thin coat of spackle, without ever filling the hole. That's all. I have to try some more around Rome to see if I'm bringing my untrained perspectives into this forum. As they say.... When in Rome.....

Expecting it to be there one year, I walked over to Piazza Navona and Gelateria Navona had evidently closed. I would then get gelato here and there. I then learned that Giolitti is a long standing gelateria and it's also in the historic center. I filed the name away in my head. Then, one day, I happened to walk right in front of it without even looking for it, so I went in. Giolitti is popular and it can be crowded. I'm going to say that I waited about 10 to 15 minutes. You pay at a counter first, deciding on what you want and how much of it, such as scoops and whether it will be in a cup or a cone. Once up at the counter, they don't rush you, which surprised me. I don't take that much time since I don't experiment much, but I still appreciate the courtesy. The price is roughly what everyone else in the historic center is charging. I always opt for the gelato it in a cup so you can "control" the dripping. The gelato - a mix of dark chocolate and two citrus flavors - was "molto buono." That said, just because it's so popular, I'm not going to downgrade Giolitti for it and complain about the crowds. You downgrade gourmet donut places in the U.S. where their fame has gone to their heads. There is also a spacious salon with nicer decor in which you can eat inside. At this point, Giolitti is really the only gelateria in Rome whose name I remember. I would gladly go back and I recommend it.

But I stopped in my tracks because I saw a line wrapped up 50+ people deep, all waiting just to get inside and order. Now it's day two in Rome and I still hadn't had any gelato, even though I've walked past what feels like a hundred shops. So what would a fat man from Alabama do? Turn right back around, of course--because nothing says "this is probably good" like a crowd stacked up like cordwood waiting for ice cream. I finally make it up to the counter and the young guy looks at me and says in English, "What do you want?" Well... I can't pronounce half of what I'm looking at, so I just show him a picture of his own menu I had snapped a minute earlier. He smiles, reads it out loud, and then asks, "What size?" At that point my brain is a mess, so I mumble "medium" and point at the cup sitting by the register. One problem down. Then I move into the next line--about a dozen people ahead of me--and when it's finally my turn again, I just point at my receipt like, "It's on there somewhere, I think." I can't read Italian, so I'm fully operating on faith at this point. The guy looks up and says, louder this time: "What flavor?" Flavor? That was not the question I was prepared for. So I point back at the picture again and say, "Whatever that is... I want that one." He scoops it up, loads it into the cup, and sends me on my way. Now comes the real test--taste it--but there are people everywhere, so I grab a quick photo first, because priorities. First bite? Hallelujah. That was the moment. That gelato hit and I just kept walking down the sidewalk like a man who somehow figured out how to survive ordering ice cream in Italy. Seriously, it was excellent. And if I get turned around again like today, I already know where I'm going back.
