However, currently, they are frequently unavailable and unreliable. Our hotel, JW Marriott recommended Shuttle Me Five Stars, and we are so glad they did! We called for transportation to our dinner reservations locally, and we worked out a deal to the restaurant and from before a particular time. Ryan arrived on time for us to show up for our reservation. He would pick us up in a few hours after dinner. Unexpectedly, we ran into some friends and the fun continued later on into the evening. I called Ryan to inform him. We would return past the agreed hour to our hotel later with alternate transportation. A day later, we were scheduled to fly home and needed reliable transportation to the airport. I called Shuttle Me and spoke to Ryan. Since, we did not use the return trip from the restaurant, he gave us credit to use to the airport. I was so pleased. I didn't even have to start that conversation! They are friendly and accommodating on the phone. Ryan is such a polite and affable gentleman to be chauffeured by. The black SUV we rode in was roomy, cleaner than any ride we could of asked for and had a nice plexiglass divider between the front and back seat if you're Covid concerned. I would undoubtedly use Shuttle Me Five Stars again. They are in more cities than here and offer other services such as touring also. I was transported via a gurney by van from bed to bed, with minimal discomfort on the injury site. I felt secure on the ride so I was able to be calm and rest during the 3 and 1/2 hour transfer. The driver was obviously disappointed by the short distance ride after we provided the address saying, "this must be my lucky day". His driving bordered on reckless. He exceeded the speed limit, he tailgated and made aggressive lane changes. He made us feel unsafe throughout the short ride. At the end of the ride, I noticed the meter was not displayed and asked him the price. He retrieved an iPad or equivalent from the floor, typed something in and then displayed the price of $39.50. This was more than double the usual fare. He stated it was "because there was a minimum fare which he would have told us if we asked". I looked up the base fare which is $4 with an additional airport fee of $3.25. Based on the mileage of our trip, total fare should have come out to less than $18. This was not only unprofessional but bordered on predatory behavior. We are Palm Springs locals that try to utilize local businesses whenever possible, but will never be using City Cab again. I contacted the company last week, but have yet to hear a response. I strongly urge other to consider Uber or Lyft.

Using them for convenience, especially in a commercial vehicle, prevents individuals with mobility challenges from accessing the space. Taxi companies should ensure their drivers respect accessibility parking laws and community standards. I hope management addresses this with their drivers so these spaces remain available for those who rely on them. You have the time the incident happened, the area in which it happened... management can narrow down exactly who this customer was and call them because that customer will tell you that he is not handicapped and the store owner will also clearly tell you the customer was NOT HANDICAPPED your customer apologized for your driver behavior.
