Cheese pizza
Jordynn B.

I really enjoyed the food at fireside lounge. The menu is not as extensive as I would like it but the items I chose were absolutely amazing. The pizza is so delicious, so saucy, and the perfect amount of cheese. The fish tacos are so filling and they are Seabass so it is great quality fish. I love the sauce that comes with it as well. Could have came with more limes instead of too mini ones, but that was still OK. The shrimp tempura sushi roll was absolutely delicious because the plate is drizzled with dynamite sauce and teriyaki sauce. It comes with a nice side of soy sauce as well. So much flavor pack there

Iman E.

Stayed at the hotel over the weekend and came here twice. The seating and live music was great and why I gave 2 stars for the review, but the food and drinks left much to be desired! The drinks are extremely watered down and lacking flavor. We tried the pizza the first night and it was really doughy. The second night we tried the burger and it tasted like the Costco Burgers from a box. Def not worth it.

Spicy hibiscus margarita hand crafted and can be served to go.

You won't find prices under $500. With that in mind it should be luxury. There's nothing luxury here. It's fine, it's clean, it's nice. First the staff, everyone is great. Very friendly, helpful, informative. So no problems there. So I think it's the management and the operator of the hotel. Inside the rooms, even after a recent renovation, it's just fine. There's nothing noticeable and there's nothing I'll think about or mention as a great part of the room. Everything is fine. During conferences or events, they may close certain parts of the hotel to other guests. That happened to me but didn't affect my impression of the hotel. I did speak with front desk to get some fees waived due to facilities being closed to non-conference guests. The other thing is with this resort fees, there's nothing worth any value included. So they advertise fitness facility and internet. That is basic and should be included in the rate, not resort fee. If you want to use the sauna in the spa, that's another $50 day pass fee on top of the resort fee. I understand other hotels do this but I am not into normalizing this. This is more a practice in the US, when you travel to Asia and Europe, saunas are at least included. Fees on top of rates on top of fees is a continuing practice at US hotels that I will be calling out and reflecting in reviews and to hotel staff. Anyway, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. It's fine if you want to check it out. I've stayed at other hotels in the area and would recommend those, esp at this price point you have the world of options.

I love how once you check in, you are welcomed with water, welcome drinks, and if different social events. This may I came during Mother's Day and they offered free cocktails and bites. The rooms are huge, and the views are amazing. I had a view of the golf course. Besides that there are multiple pools; adult, the regular pool and splashtopia (lazy river and slides). What's nice is that during summer nights they have movies by the pool. There is also a gym, few restaurants, and tiki social. There is free parking as well as parking for the guests. This was a family/work trip, and we chose the hotel for the kid-friendly water features (ages 8 and 3). The room was very dated (so expect that going in) but very clean--I could tell by how clean my kids' feet stayed after running around barefoot. The king room with a pull-out couch was a big plus. The hotel accommodated our request for a ground-floor room with easy access to the main areas. Being able to walk from our patio to the restaurants in about two minutes made things much easier with kids. The "water park" is more of a well-done kids pool and splash pad than a full water park, but the kids still had a great time. Poolside service was great--generous portions, and the kids loved their chicken tenders and fries. I didn't enjoy a drink myself but the drink menu was tempting and others seemed to be enjoying themselves. We were excited about the breakfast buffet at the Desert Pearl. Pricing was reasonable for kids, though the adult options weren't especially appealing so I decided to pass. What really stood out was the staff--every single person we encountered (front desk, restaurant staff, bellman, security, and pool team) was friendly, patient, and accommodating. When we discovered after checkout that my son left his lovey there, they drove me back via golf cart to try to retrieve it. Overall, everyone offered a level of service made a lasting impression. The only downside was finding quite a few mosquitoes and a moth in the room, likely due to our proximity to the lake. If the room were a bit more updated, pest-free, and did not come with the Coachella tax we paid, this would've easily been a 5-star stay for us.

It was my first time to the area, and I was blown away by the beautiful views and the weather! Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Westin, and it was the perfect venue for a corporate conference. Check-in was severely delayed on the day of our check-in, but it did not affect us since we were out exploring the area. I overheard several very irritated people, though, as they were waiting to check in for many many hours, and rooms were not yet clean and ready until after 5pm. I enjoyed the spread out layout of this Westin, and it was convenient to have a room on the main floor. The convention spaces were good, but the air-conditioning made it feel like it was 50°, and everyone was shivering most of the conference. We enjoyed all of the food that we ate, and especially enjoyed the outdoor welcome reception that our conference hosted. It was such a beautiful backdrop, and well managed with great bar service and food options. We also enjoyed the adult pool area, and it was very convenient that it was just steps from our hotel room. Our room was a bit dated, but worked just fine for us. The bathroom was quite large, and easily accommodated multiple guests in one room. Beds were comfortable. The biggest issue we ran into was the power in our room didn't work all the time we called in maintenance, they fixed it, but then it broke again the next day it caused a fair amount of frustration, but the staff really worked hard to get it resolved. We enjoyed long walks around the golf course each morning, the coffee shop, the restaurants, and the ease of parking. We also saw a prom being hosted there and a wedding. The staff was friendly, and overall it was a great hotel for a conference!

Instead, the experience became one of the most upsetting resort stays we've had. While actively swimming in the La Paloma pool with our children, a large amount of brown material suddenly blasted out of a pool jet directly in front of us and spread into the water. It genuinely looked like sewage or waste coming into the pool. We immediately got out along with other guests and attempted to get answers from staff, but no one could clearly explain what had happened or reassure us that the pool was safe. Because of that, we no longer felt comfortable using ANY of the resort pools for the rest of our stay -- which completely ruined the primary reason we booked this resort in the first place. We left extremely disappointed and honestly sad that our Mother's Day and anniversary trip turned into stress and discomfort instead of a relaxing family vacation. Three days later, I also became extremely sick, which only added to the concern surrounding the incident. Management later emailed us claiming it was "filter media sand" from a backwash issue and not waste. They waived our parking and resort fees, but considering we essentially lost use of the main amenity we paid to enjoy, that did not feel like an appropriate resolution. We respectfully reached out requesting either compensation for the room or the opportunity to return for a future stay so we could actually experience the resort the way we intended to. We never even received a response. For a resort at this price point and under the Westin/Marriott name, the handling of this situation and the lack of customer care afterward was incredibly disappointing.

We booked 2 rooms, and one of them had a horrible smell of bleach and medicine. It was so bad that we immediately asked for a different room. We then had to wait over an hour with all of our guests before getting another room. What made it worse was that the staff admitted they would not give that room to anyone else because of the smell, yet they were originally ready to give it to us. Then both rooms had toilet issues. One of the toilets was clogged and not functioning properly from the beginning, which created another mess and forced us to get a third room. On top of that, most of the room keys they gave us did not work properly. The staff was aware of the issue, but even the replacement keys were malfunctioning. We constantly had to share keys between family members just to get into our rooms. After all of that, we decided to relax by the pool and enjoy some quiet music with our family. There were other guests around us enjoying themselves as well, and the music was not loud or disruptive. However, one staff member approached us very rudely and told us we could not play music. We explained that we have been coming here for 22 years and this had never been an issue before. Her response was, "That's fine, you don't have to come back here," which was extremely rude and unprofessional. She also made comments about calling security if she had to repeat herself, which felt more like a threat than customer service. It is very disappointing to see such a nice establishment damage its reputation because of poorly trained and unprofessional staff who clearly do not know how to communicate with guests or provide proper customer service.
