I went to the Indio, CA bus station to purchase a round trip ticket. Their hours stated they close at 11:00 am for I believe 2 hours. I was there at 10:15 am and the door was locked! I have no problem purchasing my tickets on-line but I was in the area so I stopped by to buy them at the station. read more

We were suppose to leave out of Indio CA to LA at 6:20 however at the last minute our bus got delayed until 9:20. We then had to switch our return ticket to later. It is now 10:43 no bus and it is now delayed until 1:00pm. Since this trip is no longer feasible because of the bus delays we called to get a refund where we were told they could only give us a voucher. No thank you I want my money back. That was a no so we will have to dispute the charge as theft and go from there. The customer service is horrible at the 800 number and I will never use this service again. However the guy at the bus station is very nice. Also there is no where to wait until the bus comes except in the weather and the office is only open 10-4. read more

The bus was scheduled to arrive at 6:25 was delayed till 10:07 and never showed up what in the actual frick uber cost 250 lol

I pray for all who travel by greyhound. My first and last experience. I cannot describe the absolute horrors I experienced, and witnessed the most horrendous treatment of impoverished and mentally ill people. I witnessed shaming of addicts, poor and needy. I praise Jesus Christ for being present as I prayed for and with many. All glory to God that I literally survived with my freedom and my life. I took the bus as I was afraid of flying during these times in our country. I was accosted NOT by the blessed people I ended up traveling with, but by public figures and employees of greyhound. I will continue to pray for all who travel Greyhound. I will add that some of the drivers are absolutely kind, unselfish, giving and caring people. Thank you for service. You will truly be rewarded in heaven. read more

Too bad there isn't a negative star rating! Greyhound has the absolute worst customer service ever. My son is stuck in Indio California. My husband called Greyhound directly to purchase the ticket, he explained to the person that our son cannot print the ticket. The agent said it was ok, we have an email detailing how he can pick his ticket up at the station. However, my son gets to the station with his reference number and ID as required per the email and they won't let him board because it's the wrong ticket. I call customer service and they tell me that it's not a will-call ticket, it needs to be printed and is nonrefundable but I can buy him a will-call ticket for $84 oh, but he can't board the bus that leaves in an hour, he has to wait for the next bus, 5 hours later. If I want my money refunded, I would have to call a different number for refunds, I did, they said they couldn't help me and sent me to another department to review the phone call that the ticket was purchased. He then tells me, after an hour of not one single person helping that they won't even consider a refund for 24 hours and won't even pull the recorded call for 3-5 business days. Meanwhile my kid is stuck with no food and no money, and we had to buy him another ticket that he can pick up at the station, but doesn't leave until 11 tonight. Thanks Greyhound bus for stealing our money and leaving our kid stranded. read more

Horrible experience!! I booked a first time round trip and needed to cancel since the event was cancel for the Covid-19 out in Vegas . I had been calling for the last 2 days prior and NO answer after being left on hold for one hour twice . I decided to go to the actual greyhound location in Indio with me still being on hold . I stepped in with my surprise there was only one customer in line and an African American male being the attendant of the station . I asked with my cell phone in hand why I was on hold for more than 45 minutes when he wasn't busy . He stated " look this is the time of departure I'm busy " Big lie !! I asked for a good number to call he gave me corporate number and same nonsense no answer after Being On hold for another 20 min. I went back and asked again for the manager he said he wasn't available I told him it was the first and last time I booked a trip with such an unprofessional ghetto transportation and he replied " ghetto people Book with greyhound" and I thought ghetto people work for greyhound!! So I continue searching to get a hold of someone to speak to and finally I came across to the number where customers with disabilities call . I finally got a live person to speak with. First operator hung up on me after placing me on hold for ten minutes then the second operator by the name of Lisa helped me and told me manager was busy attending another call so had to hold another 25 min until I spoke with Jamie male asian guy I know by the accent told me my ticket had no refund . After I explained myself and all the back and forth he didn't Helped at all his employee number is # 3608560 . I ended the conversation letting him know I would call my bank and file a formal complaint to the consumers affairs. So I will !! DONT Travel with Greyhound!!!!!!!!!!!!! This company must be Close!!!! Not reliable !!!!! big cero for them !!!! read more

Greyhound is the Walmart of transportation. Not all the employees are bad, some we're really nice. But the nice one's never make up for the awful ones. On my trip we had 2 delays on late buses which was 11 hours of sitting and waiting with my senior mom & 4 yr old. Then we had 2 broken down buses. 1 the windshield wipers didn't work. That was about 5 hours of waiting on the bus for another bus. Then the bus they brought had a tire pop. That was about another 5-6 hours of waiting. The guy who came to change the tire was inexperienced. The guys released from prison on the bus had to help the guy change the tire. We had a great driver who bought us all food at McDonald's on his company credit card. We paid $600 for priority boarding for 3 ppl. They're still running old buses too. Greyhound isn't the way to travel. read more

They are so lucky that I gave them one star. I traveled to this greyhound location on a 2hr. bus ride 3 days in a row to get help with switching a ticket. The lady who was working the desk had no idea what she was doing and she kept giving me false information. Causing me to have a delayed departure date. Luckily on the 3rd there was a different lady who did everything the other lady said she couldn't. She needs to be fired! On the date of my departure they redeemed themselves by compensating my luggage. It was well deserved after what I went through. My advice to you all pick a different station ! read more

If i could give zero stars i would. I booked a ticket from indio, ca at 5:15 am. Arrived at the station at 4:30am and the bus NEVER stopped!!! Just kept going on the freeway and checked in as stopping at 5:17 but it never did! Worst experience ever! read more

On the bright side, if you are riding a greyhound bus these days then the rude people who work at this bus station and the trash all over the parking lot are probably the least of your problems. I spent an hour and a half here waiting for a late bus. I would rather have spent it at the dentist's office. read more

My dad was stranded because of the incompetence of several employees that work here. They screwed up the ticket multiple times and assured my grandmother that she purchased the right one. They double checked it with her and everything. Yet somehow in the end they still screwed up. My dad was stranded in Sacramento for 10 hours. What the hell is he supposed to do for 10 hours? Well its none of their concern. They told him to get out of the bus station. They wouldn't even let him stay! Thanks for that you incompetent jerks. Maybe put your employees through a training on how to properly do their job so people don't get stranded. I mean seriously how many morons does it take to print out a ticket properly? read more

First time using this service and NEVER WILL I again! I work in public transportation and have NEVER dealt with such unprofessional! My son son arrived at the bus stop in Indio to purchase a ticket to come back home up north and because the system was "down" only online purchases or cash payments couldn't be made! I purchased a ticket online and still they wouldn't honor his ticket. A bus operator was so kind.. if only I could get his name to thank him. Let my son take his bus to LA where his next bus would transfer. Getting to LA at 12:50 with the bus departing at 1:15pm they would NOT let my son board without paying a $20 change of ticket $ 20 fee for his luggage. Not even for the inconvenience would they let him board. My son only had my credit card and NO CASH! my son has been waiting at the bus stop since 1pm and his bus will not arrive till 11 pm! By far worse experience EVER! Being a worried parent for my 19 year old son in the ghetto I'm beyond pist! Never again I wouldn't even give u one star! Thank u to the operator at the Indio location my son is still yet to board read more

first time on grey hound, I went to the bathroom & the lock got stuck the other riders called over the driver. I was relaxed didn't make it a big deal that I was stuck. Bus driver opens the door talking to me rudely that I don't know how to open the door & looked at him in confusing telling him the lock is broken & the other riders were telling him as well. He than threatened me saying I was going to get kicked off the bus for panicking & yelling. & again the other riders defended me saying I wasn't. Than driver then told me to step off the bus & tried scaring me saying he was gonna leave me in Indio California & thats 4 hours away where I needed to be. Grey hound needs to level up not worth it. You can travel cheaper through airlines & faster. Frontier airlines is the way to go. The only reason I had to take grey hound is LAX airport is making riders sign a page saying to quaritine for 14 days when landing. I was not able to do that due to school. read more

Zero stars. Acquaintances of ours who are dirt poor with no car coughed up all the money they could muster to bring their mother (also dirt poor) from out of town to see her son in law who is dying from brain cancer. They proceed to lose her luggage. So Greyhound sent her on her way -- which involved hours long local bus rides to get to final destination. Then they found the luggage. Now they want this woman who has nothing and no way to get around to somehow find a way to get back TO GREYHOUND to get the luggage that THEY lost. When we suggested Greyhound hire a courier service it was as it we were speaking Greek. How they do not have a relationship with a courier service for a matter like this one...to rectify THEIR MISTAKE....I can't even fathom. No idea how this is going to turn out but just wanted to warn everyone who is thinking of traveling on a Greyhound about the horrible service that this company gives. Travel at your own risk! read more

I rode the Greyhound bus from Indio CA to Phoenix AZ. The driver was rude, beyond belief, but he was more like a sheriff than a bus driver. Some nice people on the bus, but many who were not such nice folks. We were delayed, not his fault. I arrived for a 5:15 am pick-up, the station was closed. Bus arrived at 5:30 am, and I boarded, to find the only seat available, a jump seat at the back, next to the restroom door. No air overhead, or reading light, no foot rest, and no seatbelt, with a corridor, directly in front of me. Totally dangerous. Being at the back of the bus, and in a seat that did not recline or adjust, I was totally uncomfortable. On top of this, I had a flat wall, of the restroom up against me. On the other side, was a sleeping woman, who ended up unconscious and leaning on me, she also had nowhere to go. The bus stopped at a gas station in the middle of the Desert, and we got a 20 minute break, which would have been longer, except for the 90 minute delay on the freeway, which was not their fault. The stop was dirty and dingie, with most of the patrons trying to get their nicotine fixes. Back on the bus, people had gotten up, and were using the bathroom. The odors were unbelievable. I was on a one way trip to pick-up a car, otherwise I would not have considered this. i have ridden buses that were much nicer than this, with airplane seats, and TV screens, this thing was terrible. I usually fly, and can say that this was more grueling than a bad transcontinental flight. When daylight came, the buses air conditioning could no longer keep up, and we all began to sweat. Greyhound needs to get rid of this outdated garbage from their fleet. I would never ride with them again. read more
