There are so many negative things about Gretna auto. Customer service is horrible and it's not just one person. We were hung up on. Calls ignored. When promised a call back we never got one. Every single person we talked to had an excuse about everything.They were not honest with us about the car. Had major problems getting the title. We needed to have the vehicle inspected before we could license it and when they showed up with the title, all they had was a copy of title. They made our local DMV call to get the actual title. The person who delivered the title made rude comments and called them Inappropriate names (that I will not include here) about the employees at the DMV and the inspector Office. We went to the Gretna Auto Outlet with our niece to help her as she is trying to purchase her first car and help her with trying to find one that is in her price range and would be reliable. We drove from Lincoln because they had advertised one inside her budget. I would never trust this dealership. They post a price for their vehicles, but when you sit down to run the real purchase numbers POOF almost 2000 dollars of charges are added. 1000 for basically a car wash and wax, around 500 for "dock fees at a used car dealership. Then there where more nickel and dime charges. To me that is bait and switch and the dealership may say it is all perfectly legal and it may be but to me it's dishonest and unethical. The real end price is what should be advertised not the lure price to get you in the door then add charges when the final deal is being made. After we test drove the car she wanted to run the numbers and that is when we find out about the extra charges. Those charges pushed the price out of what she wanted to spend so she said that she would not be purchasing the vehicle because it was now out of her budget. Then the credit person comes out and puts pressure on her to buy the vehicle. At this point I ask him about the additional charges and that is when we felt he became dismissive and a little rude like he was upset that we wasted his time. I really felt like thanking him for wasting our time, and gas on a bait and switch. I wish I had looked at some of the reviews for this business before we went because there are a number of other reviews that mirror our experience. we bought our vehicle. But 3 weeks later we still had not received the title. We finally had to call and ask them why. We talked to several people over the day, and each person had a different excuse. One person actually told my husband that it would be there in time for us to license it. When I called them, I was told it would not be there in time for us to get it licensed from the same person. We asked to speak to the someone hire up. He didn't know either. Told us he would look into it and call us back in a little while. 3 hours later still no call. We called back again and were told he left for the day. Come to find out the title was lost in the mail. Which is completely understandable. Problem we have is they knew a week before we called that it was actually lost in the mail. We ended up talking to 3 different people over the day before they finally told us the truth. Also since the vehicle was purchased out of state it still needed be inspected. And again we completely understand that. But when we purchased the vehicle no one told us. With no title in hand and not having very many days left to license it we are very frustrated and upset. They did promise to bring the title to us in time but at this point our trust in them is gone. Leaving us with only 4 days to get it done is very stressful. Now I'm stuck on the side of the road waiting on a tow truck after just picking the car up last night and them telling me it's fixed! I feel like they scammed my husband and I. We haven't even had it month UPDATE.... they refused to fix the car because " I'm not fixing anything you guys left a bad review. " On top of that now the Ac dosent work, it has a horrible antifreeze smell and the wipers that work just fine before don't move. When we bought the car we were told by the guy helping us that he didn't know how to do the warranty paper work and when I told them that today I was made out to be a liar. These people do not care. Bought a vehicle from here in August and it has been in the shop ever since. I only had it for 9 days when the engine blew. Luckily there was a warranty still on the engine but had other issues with it and it's been in the shop and they are trying to figure out what's wrong with it. Bought a truck there, as we left the dealership lot, the check engine light came on. Called and called and called and they would never answer OR return our phone call. They agreed to fix it, then after about a week we drove from an hour away to come pick up. Within 5 mins of leaving the truck was smoking from the engine. We took it back to their lot immediately. They had it for over a month "fixing it" and giving us the runaround. Said one of their mechanics was in jail so it was only one person fixing all the vehicles. My husband spent a fortune on Ubers and lifts to get to work in the middle of the night during that time. Meanwhile we were making payments on a vehicle we didn't have!! It's been over a year and the truck has been nothing but problems. They are shady people and will not return your phone call. Their extended warranty says at the bottom in tiny print that they will not cover anything that has nuts or bolts. Found that out the hard way. read more

Only positive part of my experience here was the fact that they would communicate through email a bit. Tried to negotiate a price, salesperson didn't even know the price of the vehicle we were trying to negotiate. Sold us a vehicle, hounded us the next day about getting our title. Called my wife a liar, and got angry with me about getting our title. Fast forward a month, they have our title, and they keep giving excuses as to why we don't have the title for the vehicle we purchased from them. Now, we can't legally drive our vehicle because we can't put plates on it without the title, my bank is calling me every day asking for the title, they keep blaming another state. How about getting a title for the vehicle before attempting to sell it? Now we have a vehicle we are paying for that has to sit in the garage, or drive it illegally... There were a couple things with the vehicle that are questionable as well, but I don't know if they did it, or someone else did it, so I'll just leave that out. read more

I can't leave less than 1 star or I would. I bought a vehicle from gretna auto outlet and within a week it was in the shop, where it's been for 7 months now. Their warranty company is refusing to listen to an ase certified mechanic on the steps that need taken in order to properly repair the issue. The shop even says the engine is most likely not the original engine due to all the busted wiring harness connectors throughout the engine bay held together with zip ties, the cam shaft lobe has a groove worn in it as well. The test drive was less than 2 miles, I wonder why..... When I bought the vehicle I also bought the "warranty" to go with it, why wouldn't I protect my investment? At that time Travis said "if you need to take it in and they give you any problems call me and I'll get it handled". Well he failed miserably. When I called Travis he was extremely rude and out of place. This vehicle needs a new engine and I'm stuck with the bill after paying almost 4k for the warranty. If I could give negative stars, I would. I bought a car from Gretna Auto making the salesmen aware that safety is my biggest concern. I was not made aware that anything was wrong with the car, and 3 hours after leaving the lot multiple problems arose. We dropped it back off right away and it took them 2 weeks to fix, while receiving phone calls from different employees daily during those 2 weeks. Each call was a different story from a different person with different explanations of what was wrong. Finally got it back and the engine is shuddering, which was not happening the first time. Bought a 2013 F150 Platinum on December 3 within a week of owning it I realized there was a leak at the turbo line which quickly progressed into a timing chain going out which resulted in $6000 worth of work needed. Despite reviewing previous owner Carfax it's very hard for me to believe they did not know this was present when they sold it to me. TLDR - typical poor dealership experience. Everyone is nice enough but the whole purchase experience was pretty terrible. Had the car ready when I got there after driving 3 hours, was missing a part but we came to an agreement. Told me they would ship/transport the car down to me once everything was finished so it was easier. Fair enough. I setup for funds to be sent but they called me asking how soon I could come in to sign paperwork. They acted like it was an issue to FedEx or email paperwork to me like they have never done an out of State sale before. They eventually emailed over to me the paperwork which I signed and returned and never heard back. Followed up the next day to finally be told they sent it over to my bank so they could receive funding. I confirmed with my bank. After poor communication I decided to retrieve the vehicle myself instead of waiting on shipping as I was not confident it would be delivered to me with any sense of urgency. I alerted them to when I would be arriving. Nothing was ready, for some reason the car was getting an oil change, it never got detailed with their reasoning being that I was driving it back so it was going to get dirty and they only put $20 in gas in. I figure after I saved them a chunk of change on transport fees, least they could do was put a tank of gas in. What should have taken 10 minutes to pick the car up was a nearly two hour process of waiting on something or someone. It has been nearly 30 days and I am STILL waiting on the part that was promised to me in writing that is an essential part of the safety restraint equipment on the vehicle. Furthermore upon getting home I had a Post Purchase Inspection completed to see what maintenance the car needed and found multiple just dumb items broken or not corrected that either would have cost $10 or 5 minutes of time to easily fix. It is very apparent this vehicle was never inspected or gone through any sort of quality control upon them purchasing it from auction. Short of writing a book, there are multiple other small things that happened through the process that made this experience less enjoyable than going to the dentist to have a tooth removed. It really is too bad as the location and facility is great, and the inventory they have is unique but the customer service just falls so terribly short. read more

I purchased a 2015 Subaru WRX from here, people were friendly and communicated with me perfectly. Before I signed the paperwork I stated that there was a knock when I turned right and a fog light cover was missing, which they agreed to order that for me and to take the car to a shop in council bluffs. That's to me was pretty good. It was written on the agreement. Within a week or so of driving it I get a check engine light regarding my catalytic converters and that this code has been stored in the system for some time, yet the check engine light was cleared. These parts are not cheap, it will cost me $800 each to replace and I have two of them plus the shop labor fees I'll pay on top of that. I have tried to get a hold of the salesman that sold me this car via text and phone call but he hasn't bothered to pick up. It took me multiple call attempts to the dealership which multiple people gave me multiple answers. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DEALERSHIP. It's all buddy buddy until you sign the agreement forms, after that it's consistently getting ignored. read more

I bought. 08 F250 from them in March of 2017. Three days after delivery I discovered the front mounts to the truck box broke. Did not see that there was use issues due to the under coating covering it up. They were no help in resolving the issue.. .... I did buy an extended warranty which did cover some $5000 plus in repairs over the last 4 years. The truck in now in need more repairs that won't be paid for due to the over sized tires that were on the truck when I bought it. Warranty company says that I can get a prorated refund on the premium but I have to go back to the dealership. Finance guy says he can cancel it but because the warranty has already paid more than that there would be no refunds. Remind you warranty company said there is. Just want to share my experience with Gretna Auto Outlet! I traded in a car that I owed quite a bit on, so long story short, I didn't get the deal that I wanted...which was new tires! A day after I drove my car off the lot, I had a flat tire (which was flat on the lot, I was told they "fixed it"....which means they just aired it up). A week later, I took my car to TO Haas to get two new front tires. I was shown my back tires were bald on the insides, and the front tires were completely bald. So 4 new tires and an alignment it was! Then I got shown the brake pads...at 2%..paper thin! So now we're putting on new brake pads, and realize the calipers and disks need replaced! Also, diagnostics are telling me there is transmission problems when I start the car, it won't allow me to shift it into drive/reverse! Also, an oil change needed within 2000 miles! Customer service after the sale is exceptionally poor. Dealer delivered the vehicle with a broken tailgate, claimed it wasnt their fault since it was sold as is. At the time when I signed the papers to purchase the vehicle, the tailgate was fully functional. Told me to take it to a local place to have it fixed, then after I did that they wanted me to drive it 2 hours back to Omaha so they could look at it. They completely stopped communicating with me. I had to resort to filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to get a response from them. I warn any buyer considering a vehicle with Grenta Auto to expect a completely terrible experience. I showed interest in one particular Chevy Pickup. They immediately texted information to me and we set up an appointment the next evening so I could look at it. I drove 50 miles and arrived 10 minutes early. They took all my information down and after about 20 minutes, told me the owner's brother took the pickup home with him to Bennington. Wanted to show me a few more expensive pickups and said I could wait while they tried to get him to bring it back, which would have taken a very long time. Can you say Bait n Switch? I love the truck its one of the cleanest nicest trucks of that year and body style I've ever seen I get people offering me more then I paid for it all the time, I had a good quick experience with management and the sales guy he was older but I forgot his name, he was a funny old timer.. they took care of me, the windshield had a crack and I asked them to put a new windshield in it and they did no questions asked, the outside door handle was broke I told them I could fix it but they insisted I bring it in to have it fixed. Incredibly frustrating to be working towards purchasing a vehicle to be told, "I got another customer on it right now from MIami too". Sure Marcus. The minute I was told he had someone else I decided to stop the purchase. He had already started the conversation with misleading and or inaccurate information. For one, he said the car had very little flaws, but when I asked for photos up close via text, the car had TONS of obvious flaws. He said the convertible top was in great shape, but when he sent the photos you could see major discoloration which I specifically asked about. When I asked Marcus if the car would pass emissions in my state. His response was "I don't see why not". Well honey you need to check the sticker. He actually asked me....the buyer where that would be. I can't believe a professional car salesman doesn't know where the emissions sticker was located. Test drove a 2009 Hyundai Sante Fe on Tuesday - no check engine light. Go to buy the Hyundai on Wednesday - check engine light is on and there's zero gas in the car. We ask about both before signing anything. We're told to talk to the finance guy. Finance guy says he doesn't handle that, talk to the sales guy on our way out. Sales guy says "oh could be anything, could be because she's low on gas." Sales guy also refuses to check it out, refuses to put any gas in the car even though she's on fumes. Put gas in the Hyundai but she only takes $8. It's a warning sign. Take Hyundai in to see what the check engine light is about on Thursday - faulty fuel gauge. $500 fix on a $5k car. You cannot tell me these shysters didn't know this car had this issue before they sold it to us. Buyer beware. They are crooks. I wouldn't buy air from these people on Mars. read more

I recently traded a 2012 veh for a 2007 veh because it had close to 40,000 less miles. We met half way to do the trade due to distance. Prior I had requested that they perform an oil check, as well as check the fluids and filters. Also a video was provided and at no time did they mention the flaws and scars on the paint that were not visible. Nor did they report that the radio did not work or the missing knob. Upon meeting to trade veh's I first inquired about inspecting the veh and the delivery person said that is not their job and requested to have the papers signed inside a local Subway. No papers or title was provided. Driving the veh home I realized there wasn't even windshield fluid and it was obvious that the fluids and filters were not checked. The veh has rattles and other suspicious noises. Even though I called less than 20 hrs later to request that I return the veh and get my veh back and pay a fee or penalty the Manager and General Manager declined and was quite rude and interrupted me telling me that I was being rude whenI was just trying to explain my frustration. please, please do not use this outlet. Went there to look at used cars as I received a flyer with pull tab cards which one said I won a vehicle up to$10000. Got there and they were like oh we don't know what you won yet. We have to register you. Looked at vehicles and they either wouldn't start or had major front end issues, you could hear the clunking on the test drive! But oh yeah they do safety inspections, I think you better let go of the mechanic if that is the case. Kept trying to get me to finance for a more expensive car than I wanted. Oh the kicker was the flyer said I won and they said oh no just$2020 off but when I found a car for $8998 they said that was the price with the discount! Oh so everyone wins $2020 off then.
