I'd say quality wise this is average coffee mind you the espresso is more acidic like a light roast so if that's your preference you'll enjoy it. I'm rating this bellow average because it's about 8-10 bucks for their largest size is about 30% smaller than a large at any other coffee shop (more comparable to a grande at Starbucks) overall not worth the money, there isn't much of an experience to justify the price like you'd expect from a novelty or mom and pop coffee shop. If you ask me they will be under water by this time next year if Starbucks couldn't justify this space in the mall there's no way Gregory is going to cut it. read more

I hate that this is only in Mission Viejo! The coffee is prepared so well. They are not too sweet although the names and descriptions of coffees could frighten you off. They are tasty and well balanced. I would say that every-time I ordered a pastry or sandwich they do come out a little too toasty and maybe they should turn down the temp. But at least it's hot and tasted fresh like they make them daily. read more

I decided to order 3 drinks because they were closing, and I usually don't order this late...but the menu looked promising, and the atmosphere was inviting. The female employee who took my order was kind and made it a lovely experience. The strawberry matcha was decent, but I really only liked the one of the energy drinks because over time, it turned out to be really sour. We were a little coffee'd out today so I opted for the Full Moon Matcha. Hubby didn't like it and I was disappointed because it lacked matcha flavor. I was excited to try vegan maple tahini foam along with the salted yolk flavor, but it was mostly a vegan light green sweetened drink for $8.05 + tax which is steep for what it was. I regret not getting an espresso based drink, maybe that would have been better because after all it's Gregory's Coffee, not Gregory's Matcha or even Gregory's Tea. read more

This coffee stand is located in the food court at The Shops At Mission Viejo, thankfully replacing a Starbucks and serving GOOD coffee rather than the crap served by the former tenant. I stopped by on a recent weekday morning. I had finished dashing around the mall and was on my way home so ordered a salted caramel cold brew to take on the road. The perky women behind the counter quickly had my order ready and I was on my way. The coffee itself had a bold taste. I could tell it was a quality coffee bean roast. The salty caramel was evident but didn't overshadow the coffee, just sweetened it slightly. I caught both the saltiness and caramel flavors; they weren't lost behind the coffee. Come with me to try the super popular New York transplant Gregorys Coffee. This is their first location ever on the West Coast. I had only seen this place in TV shows so I was so excited to finally get the chance to try their specialty drinks, like this Iced cherry blossom that had all these pretty layers and tasted so delicious, and the Purple Rain smoothie which is right up my alley with its 21 grams of protein. Gregorys is in the food court of the Shops at Mission Viejo (the Mission Viejo Mall) in the same spot Starbucks used to occupy. I'm hoping Gregorys makes it because the baked good I tried from them outshines those from other coffeehouses and well, Starbucks*. Their customer service was lovely; the employee had a warm and helpful attitude. I could tell he wanted us to have a good time, enjoy our drinks, and the blueberry muffin I ordered. It wasn't the kind of coffeehouse where you're treated abruptly if you're not a regular. I said yes when he asked if I wanted the blueberry muffin toasted. Having it toasted was a great choice as the muffin was obviously fresh with good flavor and the right amount of moisture. What I ordered to drink was the Nu Brew which featured a combo of Nutella with handcrafted cold brew and milk. The taste of Nutella is subtle, but I did like the drink because it didn't feel dehydrating. I think going here whilst at the Shops at Mission Viejo (the Mission Viejo Mall) is convenient and something I want to try again. I went out for errands with my husband over the weekend and forgot my water bottle. I was feeling a little dehydrated so while at the mall, we walked by the food court. Gregorys Coffee replaced the Starbucks here and has a splashy little setup. They are a chain from New York. Unfortunately, I can't do caffeine in the afternoons so I opted for one of the refresher drinks. I ordered the pineapple ginger drink. It was a light drink with mid-level sweetness. I didn't taste too much pineapple or ginger. It was also pricey for the size I ordered. It did help with my thirst though. Will I be back? It remains to be seen. I am so happy that Gregorys replaced the Starbucks that was formerly in the Shops at Mission Viejo since I do not like Starbucks. What I don't like.. a hot tea with milk is almost $6.. That's a little hard to bear when eBar charges just under $4 downstairs. That being said, like eBar, they do have a good tea selection. I appreciate that you can order through the app. I also appreciate that this past week they had a promotion running and my tea was comparatively priced with eBar. The ordering through the app is key -- especially if you are on a timed break/in a rush. I've only used the app once (previously, when I tried to you couldn't add milk to a beverage, but that has been rectified), but it was a great ordering experience. My daughter has stomach issues and eating something not vegan causes problems. She took a bite and realized what she ate. I was never really a coffee drinker and never thought I would start liking coffee. Gregorys Coffee took over what used to be Starbucks inside the food courts of Mission Viejo Mall and honestly Starbucks doesnt even compare to Gregorys. The coffee here is so good, I think I'm starting to understand coffee. The coffee always tastes so freshly made. Their cold brew concoctions were what drew me in at first. I have to admit I was a little put off how the cold brews were premade in a pitcher but honestly it doesnt even matter because you end up mixing your drink anyways. The salted caramel cold brew is phenomenal, my favorite pick me up before work. But their new cold brew the Blue Dream is even better in my opinion. It's on the sweeter side but not at all too sweet and you have a clear taste of the coffee. The staff/baristas are just as amazing as their coffee. Every barista that I've encountered/experienced always has a smile on their faces and they talk so kindly. I need to learn their names so I can give the proper credit. The more I come here the more I love with their coffee. I did some research on Gregorys bc I wanted to know why and how their coffee is so good, I learned that it was founded in Manhattan, New York. Matcha Latte (hot & iced) - 5/5 : both were great! Customer Service - 5/5 : highly recommend coming here! My SIL had the hot matcha and it just didn't quite hit the spot for her so I went back and asked if they could add a little extra matcha. The girls working today (I wish I got their names) were absolutely just the best! They didn't make me feel weird or outlandish for asking. I ordered the salted caramel which is an iced cold brew, so I expected to have a shot of espresso with oat milk and caramel sauce. Instead, I was given a pre-mixed drink that is just served over ice. I was told that they premixed the drink in the morning. I guess for convenience to the employees. this is a good thing, but to a coffee connoisseur like myself, this just isn't good enough. It doesn't taste fresh, and I can barely taste the coffee. It just tastes like sweet oat milk. If Gregory accepts suggestions, I would love to have this drink made upon ordering with an espresso shot, oat milk, and salted caramel over ice. Honestly it was a lot better than I was expecting. First thing I noticed was the energy the cashier brought. They just had such a welcoming warm vibe to them so I was comfortable going up there to order. They had a lot of pastry options which we didn't try but I regret it! We did have a blueberry drink and it was delicious. It definitely had a strong coffee taste but was balanced out perfectly with the foam and sweetness. One thing a lot of smaller coffee shops miss in their coffees is the sweetness & they all end up being terrible. But this one so far had it right!
