As long as you communicate what you need and what you are uncomfortable with, Dr. Litvinov will make sure he addresses your concerns. In addition, this is not an office that is buzzing with a ton of people. I love that it is in an intimate setting (his office is attached to his home), and that he is the only dentist there. When I was there, there were a total of 3-4 people there at all times. This provides a calmer experience. In addition, I went to this same office as a child and saw the dentist who was here before him--I never should have left! He is fabulous. Oh! And his admin--Judy--is super friendly and helpful. If you have been looking for a dentist to help you feel at ease in the chair, go see Dr. Litvinov! Just make sure you communicate enough so he can help you. Good luck!

However, I give the business one star due to absolutely terrible wait times for general appointments (in excess of six months), and the demeanor of the staff. I will note that this office is in Penfield, NY, not the "City of Rocheter". I understand that they take lower levels of insurance but the operation of the business is antithetical to just about any sort of professional operation I have known in the area. Being a patient at this office is an experience in line with visiting the department of social services and dealing with somebody very forceful. I mean that both in the way they will try to force you into services you may not want or need and in the brute physical sense. The hygienists I have seen all struck me as completely rude and abusive. After visiting the office it is very clear that they DO NOT CARE about YOU AT ALL. If you need your teeth serviced they will do it and run the check as high as they can. Depending on the interface you may leave feeling like you left a welfare interview. You will step out of the doors to look at Pefield Road.

His office has a nice relaxing waiting room and his staff is very welcoming and friendly. Sue did my X-rays and cleaning. She's great. Chatted with me which I like because it distracts me! Dr. O'Keefe stopped in and was his usual self! Talked hockey and jokes were made. I did miss his humor and gentle touch dealing with my tooth that's needing some work. Dr Lucia had performed the initial phase of a dental implant procedure. At no time had he…read moreexplained 1) the steps of the procedure 2) the duration of the process 3) a cost estimate for the procedure. At the start of the second step, I expressed my concerns about the lack of communication. I offered a simple solution (one that is used by every online description of the process, I have since learned). He immediately became defensive and refused to continue with the procedure, thus leaving me with a large hole in my dentition. This had been a quiet adult conversation, despite his defensiveness until he refused to proceed. I believe that his behavior was highly immature and unprofessional. Clearly, he is not open to expressions of concerns or suggestions. Dr. Lucia is a mediocre dentist at best. His first concern is money. The implant procedure would have cost over $9000 at completion. That is far higher than other local dentists. His communication skills are horrible. He sneaks in behind you and doesn't say a word until he is standing over you. His failure to communicate about the implant process is simply an example of his shortcomings. Today, 22 days after the incident, I received registered letter stating that I had been "expelled " from his practice because of a "breakdown in the professional relationship ". Totally unnecessary. Simply reinforces a decision that I had already made.
