To be honest, I wouldn't be great fan of baked goods, but the Missus dragged me in here for a quick bite, you could actually say this was a review of two halves as the actual shop is new and clean, and the staff are, quite frankly, brilliant. We were served by a very nice young chap who couldn't do enough for us, but unfortunately that's when things went downhill.
The food is, without being too blunt, distinctly average, I had a beef sausage roll that was just mush in the middle, it smelt rather too much like cat food for my taste and I left it, SWMBO's sausage roll was equally glutinous under the pastry but at least it smelt and tasted vaguely like pork. We each had a doughnut that you could have squeezed into the fuel tank of a black taxi they were so oleaginous.
So all in all I'd avoid Greggs, the staff are good, the food less so, could be teething troubles but I reckon it's just the food. read more
