The patio cover that came with the house I bought in 2006 had deteriorated a bit over the years…read more With water getting trapped, the pitch was off due to warping. Also, each year when I received termite check ups, they would treat and patch the fascia and posts and I knew it was on borrowed time. Then finally the gutters began to sag due to dry rot. Luckily the underside and all recessed lighting was still good. Shawn came out and gave me an great quote for the reroof and a list of potential extras. Originally thought to be a 1 day job, but due to the damage found, it became a 2 day project. They were able to finish it the following day, which I appreciated due to rain on the way later that week. When I got home after the second day, it was obvious just how much quality work was done. Plywood sheets, all fascia, all three posts were replaced along with an outstanding torch down reroof. He even managed to save my gutters, straightening and reattaching them. I basically now have a brand new back patio cover. While most roofers tend to shy away from projects that involve additional wood and gutter work, Shawn just said OK and delivered. This saved me time and money from having to call a secondary contractor. The entire jobsite remained clean for both days and the final bill with extras was well worth the price. I have a quote for my entire roof and look forward to having Bovee Roofing do the job. Highest recommendation.

Bovee Roofing was hired by my HOA to repair two skylights in my condo. My experience with Bovee…read moreRoofing is that they are unprofessional and impatient. From initial scheduling, it was unprofessional. The owner's girlfriend texted me to schedule a consultation, and there was a lot of miscommunication in the process. My HOA reached out to me, saying that the roofer would be coming out to adjust the tarps on my damaged skylights, insinuating that they would not need interior access. Bovee later confirmed they would need interior access for consultation to see the interior damage and determine a repair plan. On the morning of the consultation, I texted asking to reschedule, both due to rainy weather and also because I wanted clarity from my HOA on their process. Instead of being flexible and agreeing to rescheduling, the owner Shawn called me and insisted he come out that day. I was out doing my grocery shopping and errands when he called, but agreed to come home to meet him since he was so insistent. He said that he would be there in an hour and ended up being over an hour later than that (more than two hours after his initial call). He also told me on the phone that his girlfriend doesn't know much of what she's talking about when it comes to scheduling. When Shawn did show up, he refused to go on the roof to adjust the tarps due to the rain. I can understand because it's one of the reasons why I wanted to reschedule the consultation in the first place... He was in my unit for maybe five minutes and did not go in my attic to look at the damage caused from the skylight, which did not feel like a thorough consultation to me. When it came time for the repairs, they texted me asking if they could do the repairs the next day. I did not respond or approve because of a personal / pet-related emergency. I also would not have approved it because I had meetings scheduled for that day as I WFH. Not 24 hours after they texted me, they showed up without me having responded to their text or approved. They did not try calling. They also did not knock on my door prior to starting the work to let me know that they were there. Instead, my meeting was interrupted by the noise. My dog was recovering from emergency surgery, so the noise was disruptive not only to my meetings, but to her recovery. I also later found my back patio to be a mess (they did not clean after their work). I can understand if they were already in the community to do work, but they could've sent a text or tried calling again the day of, to let me know that they were proceeding with their repairs anyways. To show up unapproved and without so much as even knocking on the door, is inconsiderate, unprofessional and should be considered trespassing. Given a skylight is involved, I consider it a violation of privacy as well. Bottom line is there's absolutely no excuse for them showing up unannounced and unapproved. I think that is my biggest disappointment with Bovee. I did not choose this vendor since it was decided by my HOA, but I would not recommend them if you have the capability of choosing your vendor.

After reaching out to Top Quality Roofing, Shane came out to assess the damage. He was thorough, identifying over 80 broken tiles--far more than I had noticed--along with several hairline cracks. He also recommended replacing a damaged skylight, which was a great catch. What really stood out was his expertise and honesty. He has direct connections with roof tile distributors, which allowed for a fair price, and he was able to preserve most of my original roof tiles, replacing only the ones that were broken rather than pushing for a full roof replacement. The work was completed efficiently in just a day and a half. I truly appreciate that this is a family-owned business. Shane's father, James, has been roofing in South Orange County since the late 80s, and it's clear they take pride in their work. They are well-known in our community for their integrity and quality. If you're looking for a reliable, family-run roofing company that provides a fair estimate and quality workmanship, I highly recommend Top Quality Roofing.

Unfortunately, his project management was lacking as he rarely showed up to oversee his team. We rarely saw Rafi during the actual construction (once every two weeks was normal). His team seemed ok at first but it became obvious that they did not have oversight. Even some of the subcontractors complained that Rafi was not paying them and they walked off the job. Other subs just vanished after starting the job. It became a daily ritual to review the mistakes his team created that day and report them to Rafi the next day. These were big oversights/mistakes and caused a lot of stress for us. -Cutting the bullnose off the stairs only to realize the new flooring did not match up with the banister. -Fabricating and installing the new quartz kitchen counter-top and backsplash with the wrong product. (Rafi tried to convince us to keep it but eventually, replaced it with the correct quartz.) -Cutting the wood inserts out of the kitchen cabinet doors for glass. The carpenter sub quit so some of Rafi's team attempted this without the proper experience. The cuts by hand were so bad and not straight. It took hours of extra time to fabricate an insert to hide the screw up. -Installing tile around the fireplace in such a way that the protective glass for the new fireplace could not be inserted. These are some of the worst mistakes but there were many more minor ones too. Rafi always tried to justify that these mistakes as normal and always tried to get us to live with them. Also, I texted him about getting some warranty work done on a broken electrical addition his team installed and he told me to fix it myself. In the end, Rafi disappeared without completely finishing the job. I have plenty of pictures, texts, and emails supporting everything addressed above. PM me if you would like to see them.
