Eric has left the company and I had a new service technician, Josh, out yesterday but he wasn't very professional and also didn't seem to know what he was doing nor have much HVAC experience. Now I'm frustrated I have to pay $120 for the 1 hour service call and also pay more money because now I am going to find a new HVAC company for a second opinion and to do the repairs. Kelly, the office manager at Rohan & Sons is always wonderful though, I just had a bad experience with Josh and would not recommend Josh but the other Rohan & Sons employees have been great in the past. Prior to finding out about Rohan @ Sons HVAC, I had a new Tempstar evaporator coil and condenser installed. Tempstar requires an annual cleaning service in order to maintain the terms of their warranty. When I called for this annual cleaning, I was told to do it myself. A bit later, my doctor told me her tests showed I had been contaminated by mycotoxins from mold. A mold specialist was recommended by this doctor and she asked me to have my installer provide instructions on how to get access the evaporator coil to sample it for mold. I called the installer and was told to provide this access "it would be an all-day job." Then he tried to BS me saying that when my furnace went on it would kill the mold. Wrong on both statements-so I called the manufacturer to get information on how to access the coil and was told they do not have this information, saying only their local installers have this information. They gave me the phone number of this rep, who told me that he would not provide it either, "because the company does not want to be liable, since the mold inspector might electrocute herself." NOT Rohan TRANSPARENCY. This is my experience with Rohan & Sons! When Louis and Chris from Rohan came out to remove this furnace (also contaminated by the mold) they arrived early. I apologized because I had not moved a lot of items in front of the furnace before they arrived. They told me "no problem" and moved most of these items before I could get to them. After removing the evaporator coil and furnace, I asked if the coil cleaner I had was one they would recommend. Louis recommended one he had. " No problem" he also cleaned my coil for me-and would not let me pay for it. After this I asked questions about using my air scrubber to bring in a fresh air supply to prevent future mold-"no problem." He knew how to do this, vs. three other HVAC installers who did not know how to do this. Their website also states "If you prefer a brand you don't see above, give us a call to discuss your options. We're here to answer all your questions and ensure our services meet your requirements." I can vouch for this. I had selected a new furnace based on the amount of consumer information a manufacturer was willing to supply to me as a homeowner, as well as the reliability of their furnace. I asked Rohan & Son to install it. They again said "no problem" and that they will instal it for me. I asked an HVAC business I called previously if they would install this brand and was told, basically, "It's my way or the highway" refusing to install any other brand but theirs." DrBruce read more

My heater fan quit blowing though the burner continued heating. I contacted Rohan and Sons, spoke with Kelly (very pleasant and helpful on the phone), and was told the technician would come the next day. The technician, Luis, arrived near the end of the projected time window, figured out the problem and fixed it within less than an hour. The final cost was slightly over the price for just the diagnostic service call, because of an extra $40 to replace the parts that had failed. Additionally, Luis cleaned the heat sensor, reattached some insulation that had come loose, and left everything in a clean state. All in all, one of the best experiences with a service call of any type, especially HVAC related. Highly recommended. read more

I don't write many reviews but had to for Rohan & Sons. They installed an A/C unit in our home two weeks ago. I had a few companies bid the job and they gave me the best bid. They scheduled us for install but moved us up two weeks when they had a client have to stall for permits. Yesterday I turned our system on for the first time since they installed and it didn't blow cold. Today is Saturday and I called them only to find out they were closed. I then emailed them so they knew I had an issue when they returned Monday. About an hour later I got a call from Tom asking what was going on. He told me he was busy but was trying to get a hold of one of their guys to see if they could get someone out today to look at it. Bill (I believe) called later and let me know he was going to stop by! He did, found the problem and fixed us up. He was so nice about it even on his day off! Nothing is ever good about your A/C going out. Always that unexpected expense & experience that no one ever wants. After calling around, ended up speaking to Dean Rohan of Rohan & Sons. We bought a bank owned home, and it was an as is sale. Sure there was an inspection & warranty in place ... but amazingly the inspector only inspected things that were in working order. That included the furnace (because it was new and the A/C was apparently disconnected?) Long story short, Dean gave us a more than fair quote, showed up on time, knocked out a complete new system for much less than the other quotes. Happy with everything. After several years of trying to find a competent company to install a wall heater, I came across Rohan&Sons from a church bulletin. Not only were the installers professional and courteous, they went to great lengths to make sure we were SAFE. It turns out that the gas valve may have been defective, and after 3 months of emails, phone calls, and numerous visits to my home checking the heater, Rohan&Sons did not give up - They continued to contact the manufacture on my behalf. Awful, this company overcharges for poor work and like many of the previous reviews have stated this company is unwilling to fix mistakes. The woman I spoke was very hostile and frequently interrupted me before outright hanging up. This company installed a heating unit and left one of the wires to close too the pilot flame causing the wire to melt and the safety system to activate. When they came to fix the heater a week later they said the system had been left on to long and thats why the heater had shut off. They left the melted wire until the heater shut off a second time forcing them to admit their mistake and rewire the unit. However, they still charged us an obscene amount for "negligence" claiming the labor was not covered under the warranty. Bottom line: They take no pride in their work. Their carelessness can become outright dangerous. Very hostile customer service. read more

I just hung up the phone with John the owner who was a very belligerent person. I used Rohan several months back to check on an air conditioning issue. The technician was polite, but left the job a mess. Wires were left completely unconnected and he said that we needed to get a new unit. When I asked John if this was standard practice, he said "you got what you paid for and you are d**m right we are going to charge you to clean up this mess."
