I called several companies, but none of them seemed interested in properly diagnosing the problem. They simply wanted to replace the entire water heater at a ridiculously high price or quoted me outrageous prices just to replace a part like over 2000. Then I contacted Sam to diagnose the issue. He was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He took the time to thoroughly inspect the water heater and carefully check all the possible causes instead of jumping straight to replacement. He eventually identified the problem and installed a new ignition combination control box for me at a very reasonable price. The water heater is now working properly again. I really appreciate Sam taking the time to actually diagnose and fix the problem instead of simply telling me to replace the entire water heater. It's refreshing to find someone who is knowledgeable, professional, honest, and reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend Sam to anyone who needs water heater repair.

Some also wanted to charge an arm and a leg while making the situation more complicated than it needed to be. Even after I explained that an auger had already been used, they still insisted on trying the same thing again and charging me for it. I finally called Cali Rooter & Plumbing, and I'm so glad I did! Matt was very straightforward about the pricing and what the rooting service would involve. They were quick to respond, and once the team arrived, they removed my toilet, performed the rooting service, sealed my toilet back, and actually listened to my concerns. I asked the plumber, "are you sure it won't clog anymore?" The plumber was 100% confident and sure it was totally unclogged. Now my toilet is completely clog-free and flushing better than ever!!! Thank you, Cali Rooter & Plumbing! If you're looking for trustworthy plumbers who are straightforward about the work and pricing, these are the people to call. Don't waste your time going elsewhere!

My sister recommended I do a sewer scope "just in case" since she encountered some costly issues on…read moreher property that could have been prevented with a sewer scope and preventative work. I reached out to a bunch of companies and went with the cheapest (not Cali Rooter and Plumbing) since I figured they'd all be doing the same thing and I didn't expect them to find anything. Well, to my unpleasant surprise, they told me that I needed a new sewer pipe from my property to the street. Despite the fact that the entire plumbing system had been overhauled five years earlier as part of an extensive renovation and all the new plumbing was okay, they had connected everything to the original pipe from the 1940's. They showed me some blockage that was already happening and said that if I didn't replace the pipe I could have an issue with water backing up into the house, causing damage. Given that this was no longer just a sewer scope, I did some more research and based on reviews, asked Cali Rooter for a second opinion. They came out first thing the following morning (like 10 hours later) and told me that I not only needed to repair the sewer pipe, but I also had to get a liner. They suggested that the other company was either negligent, or knew that I needed the liner and was going to wait until the trench was dug already and I was forced to say yes to the upsell. Cali Rooter said that they could come as soon as the rain stopped, about 4 days later, to do the entire repair. Communication was great throughout, they showed up around 9 am and were done by around 3 pm and it looks like they were never there (my biggest concern was the landscaping). They also serviced the two water heaters on my property as a courtesy. All around great service - great communication, fast responses and service. So far so good with the new pipe, although I guess if they did things right, I won't know until after things don't go wrong for decades.

He's both analytical and methodical. He took his time to evaluate the situation, clearly communicate the work needed, and identify any potential issues. After work began, Patrick found two large roots growing in the drains that clearly needed to be addressed. He and his crew opened the concrete, replaced pipes, and even added new drains to help with the upcoming rain. He knew I was on a tight budget and found creative solutions to keep costs to a minimum. Being a woman with next to zero knowledge of plumbing, I could have been an easy target. I'm grateful for Patrick's honesty, kindness, and patience, even as I picked his brain on other trouble areas of my parents' home and my own home, with no promise of additional work. I never felt rushed to make a decision or given false promises. I even came out of this whole experience with a better understanding and appreciation for plumbing! Free Flo Rooters, please expand your service area to Culver City just so I can hire Patrick again!

They answered the phone immediately, and had a service guy out later that day. They sent me his picture along with the confirmation so I'd know he was the right person. There was a delay in him getting there because another job took longer than he anticipated but they kept me updated and asked if it was still okay for him to come at the next two hour service window. I appreciated that because it was respectful of my time. Of course it was fine. Darren arrived, assessed the situation, and gave me three options. I opted to replace the tank and bring it up to code but held off on the tankless option. He came prepared with a high quality heater in the truck with everything he needed so he did the work right then and about two hours later he was done and we had hot water again. The billed amount was the same as the quote he gave me earlier. Not cheap but on par with expected costs and they use high quality components. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Payless Water Heaters.
