She filled the cavity for me with the request that no numbing agent was used. She gave me a break when I needed one and allowed my husband to come back only because I couldn't calm down. I went to Blue Plum dental, who kicked me out due to my anxiety. So, I chose to go to Johnson City Dental instead, knowing my insurance wouldn't cover their services. Dr. Patel took care of my health even when it was hard on her. She did the same for husband who has had to have 2 tooth extractions due to a broken tooth. I would gladly choose to pay 100% out of pocket to go here than somewhere that accepts my insurance.

Loaded us with additional xrays and did not explain that it was all running up the tab. Gracie is my hygienist and when I had my teeth cleaned the first time by her, I was amazed, she took her time, gave me a very thorough cleaning unlike I had ever had. She then checked ever tooth and my gums for any receding which was a first for me! She answers questions and is very knowledgeabl. There is a huge tv-monitor hanging from the ceiling and there is always something interesting showing and it is very relaxing. Dr. Trey Lunsford is my dentist and he is so nice, explains everything and answers any questions that you have and takes his time with you. I then asked nicely if she could describe their product and what made it special to justify the cost. I told her I wanted to compare it with a less expensive mouth guard product I had purchased from another dentist. While she was describing their product she started to speak in a smart aleck tone. I told her that she was not be very professional speaking like that. Her response was telling me that I should just buy the mouth guard from the other dentist and then hung up.

It can be very hard to get an appointment with any dentist in less than six months, but I went in for a cleaning on short notice due to a cancellation. Then, he arranged for his staff to come in a for a few extra hours the following week so he could see my wife and three kids. He and his staff have been great, even helping sort out some weirdness with insurance sending checks to me instead of to them. One review of one star here is not a basis whereby anyone makes a decision. Grace Dental has a five star average with over 600 reviews over on Google. That's the real story, not a review that frankly, I find suspect in its description. There has to be some other thing going on there. (She even says she had been going to Dr. Thomas for years.) I'm adding mine because Grace Dental doesn't deserve the rating shown on Yelp right now. I give them an enthusiastic thumbs up.
