Today, as a self pay patient, the doctor and his staff once again treated me with the utmost respect, were willing to consider my financial situation (instead of pushing me into something), and worked with me to get a treatment plan that suited me, my finances, and the future of my teeth. I've had extractions, cleanings, and root canals at Dr Moore's office, and everyone there is so kind and knowledgeable, I just won't go anywhere else. I haven't needed it, but they do provide sedation dentistry for folks who have a dental fear. I would recommend them to anyone. His office is on Roan right next to Boones Creek Pharmacy (another great local business), he's a Tennessee native, and a veteran. Make an appointment.

This is a hard mix to find, especially in the medical profession. I was particularly impressed with my parents' last visit. This practice has taken all of the necessary steps to protect their patients against COVID-19. For example, we waited in the car until it was time for my parents' appointment. Staff came wearing masks to the car and escorted my parents inside and returned my parents at the end of the appointment. Also, staff took the time to explain the results of their exam to me and invited me to use their restroom or bring coffee back to our car while I waited. This was a very nice touch. My parents and Johnson City are very fortunate to have Dr. Moore's practice.

Loaded us with additional xrays and did not explain that it was all running up the tab. Cleaning was good, no problem with dentist, just the total bills and misinformation on authorized provider which led to excessive out of pocket. Note: office manager did adjust bills for the dentist portion. For two people we are still out $700.

Gracie is my hygienist and when I had my teeth cleaned the first time by her, I was amazed, she took her time, gave me a very thorough cleaning unlike I had ever had. She then checked ever tooth and my gums for any receding which was a first for me! She answers questions and is very knowledgeabl. There is a huge tv-monitor hanging from the ceiling and there is always something interesting showing and it is very relaxing. Dr. Trey Lunsford is my dentist and he is so nice, explains everything and answers any questions that you have and takes his time with you. The ladies at the front desk are very nice and always ready to help and if you need anything and they have to return your call, they are very prompt in doing so. Adding to the review, the dentist was supplied with a copy of a full mouth xray; taken while in the hospital. When asked to review the xray for some needed dental work, the dentist never looked at them. I had to retrieve them from his office staff ( which seems to have a very high turnover rate ); with no apologies nor reason for not taking care of a return patient. Never again. She filled the cavity for me with the request that no numbing agent was used. She gave me a break when I needed one and allowed my husband to come back only because I couldn't calm down. I went to Blue Plum dental, who kicked me out due to my anxiety. So, I chose to go to Johnson City Dental instead, knowing my insurance wouldn't cover their services. Dr. Patel took care of my health even when it was hard on her. She did the same for husband who has had to have 2 tooth extractions due to a broken tooth.
